I know I’m probably beginning to sound a bit like a broken record, but this spring seriously could not have come soon enough. This past winter was an exceptionally tough one for me; not only were we buried in snow for the majority of it (yes I know, I live in the northeast so I should expect it), but it just seemed to draaaag. And on top of that, being cooped up in the house with an active toddler who really needs to expend some energy everyday made things hard, too.
BUT…here we are. Finally spring! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the trees are sprouting buds, the grass is starting to turn green…it’s a wonderful, beautiful thing. Plus, I’m finally able to bring this active little man outside to run around and get some fresh air.
Life is good.
However, as you’ve probably heard me say by now, the one thing that isn’t so good? All of the allergy symptoms that come along with the loveliness that is spring. Oooof.
Luckily, I’ve got my little “allergy arsenal” all set for the season.
I’ve got my new nasal spray, and I’ve also been utilizing my Young Living oils a bit more lately with the “allergy trio” of peppermint, lemon, and lavender. I just diffuse it in the house for about 15-20 minutes a day when I’m home and that seems to help a bit (plus it smells fabulous).
In addition to those, I now keep a bowl of Revitalizing Herb Drops from Ricola® out on the counter. I’m partnering up with Ricola for the next year, so this certainly isn’t the last time you’ll be seeing them around here!
The Ricola Revitalizing Herb Drops provide B vitamins in combination with Chrüterchraft, Ricola’s 10-herb blend found in every cough drop (the name is Swiss!). So what’s in the blend? Lemon balm, horehound, elder, peppermint, mallow, sage, thyme, lime flowers, hyssop, and wild thyme.
Thanks to these herbs (which are cultivated without the use of pesticides or herbicides), they can help alleviate some of the mild symptoms associated with allergies, like that pesky, itchy or sore throat from post nasal drip. I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like I am constantly clearing my throat, all day, every day, and not only is it annoying, but it can also lead to a pretty sore throat by the end of the day.
And this month, with Earth Day just behind us (it was Wednesday!), Ricola wants to ensure that we can still enjoy that time outside to explore nature and enjoy the fresh sunshine that was so sorely missed for about a bajillion months. Yayyyy for sunshine!
Funny enough, I had actually been using the drops for about a month (after a recommendation from a friend) before the brand even reached out, so that just goes to show you that I really do enjoy them. And they’re tasty little buggers, too!
Bring it on, allergies.
So how about you guys? Any fellow allergy sufferers? What are some of your go-to items to help alleviate your symptoms?
You can get social with Ricola, too!
