Sometimes it’s nice to just unplug for a little bit, isn’t it? Well that’s exactly what I did yesterday.
Jay and I enjoyed a nice, quiet night in last night, complete with a glass of wine, my absolute favorite pasta fagioli, and a Redbox movie. I’m tellin’ ya, I think this may possibly be one of my favorite ways to spend a Friday night, in case you couldn’t already tell.
Our movie of choice last night was Horrible Bosses, which both of us really enjoyed.
There were definitely a few points that totally had us laughing out loud.
*****
This morning, I knew I wanted to start my morning off with a workout (especially since last night also included the baking of the box of reduced fat brownies that I bought from Trader Joe’s back in September, which I enjoyed a very generous helping of). I also knew that if I didn’t get the workout done right away, it probably wasn’t happening. So as soon as I woke up, I put on my workout gear and headed to the living room.
I brought back an “old favorite” today, in the form of the 10lb. Slimdown Xtreme Kickboxing video. It’s been a while since I did this video, which was actually right towards the end of my Challenge. It felt good to get back into it today and was a nice change of pace.
Breakfast also involved a slight change of pace this morning…
Coffee, of course. No change there.
BUT, it was about time to bring back…the cereal combo. It’s been way too long.
Today’s combo included Quaker Oatmeal Squares, Kashi Island Vanilla, Erewhon Rice Twice, banana slices, and almond milk.
I promise, the rice twice was under there.
This stuff tasted gooooooood today. Real good.
I’ve got a few things on the agenda today, one of which may include another trip to TCBY. I hear that this weekend, they’re giving you the first 3 ounces free in honor of their official grand opening and, I’m sorry, but that’s really an opportunity that should not be passed up…ever.
Happy Saturday!

Your night sounds ideal- similar to mine! After making (and eating) brown rice with a seafood tagine for dinner, I had a Desperate Housewives marathon with a side of chocolate :)!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
Relaxing Friday nights in are one of my favorite ways to spend a Friday evening too. Last night we ended up going over to some friend’s house for an Italian dinner party! We had delicious lasagna – yumm!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
We watched Horrible Bosses last weekend. I thought it was pretty funny at times. I expected stupid funny which I usually hate but it actually had me laughing. :) Last night was spent on the couch watching Mad Men and reading my new book. Very chill and much needed!

I love Friday nights like that, especially after a long week! I was thinking of renting Horrible Bosses from Redbox tonight, so I’m glad to hear that it was a funny one! The last movie we rented was Bad Teacher, which also had us laughing at some parts!

Tcby is my favorite!! The white chocolate mint truffle is the best! I’m so jealous that the store you go to is self serve. Actually that might be dangerous!!
Brittany @ GOtheXtraMile says
I would not pass that up!! That is awesome. I like a chill friday night usually as well. Sometimes it’s fun to go out, but I’d rather go out on Saturday nights for some reason.

I’ve heard that the movie is a good one! Guess I’ll have to add it to the list to see. ….Oh TCBY- why are you so far from me?! Love cheesecake frozen yogurt there as well as pina colada!

My Friday night looked alot like yours!
If I don’t get off the couch right this second, I’m afraid my workout won’t get done, either…

I thought Horrible Bosses was hilarious! The last good movie I was was Twilight (for like the 5th time). I love it! Last we went to a Milwaukee food blogger dinner for an upcoming magazine shoot. I haven’t eaten so good all month!
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
I want to see that movie!! My Friday night was spent stuck in a car, trying to drive to Louisville for our half marathon. Traffic was HORRIBLE and we almost missed the deadline to pick up our bib numbers. They closed at 9:00 and we pulled up at 8:58 haha! :P
Mallory @ It's Only Life says
my boyfriend and I saw horrible bosses in theaters and we died laughing! i am the biggest movie critic and we were both surprised we found something we both enjoyed!
Shannon says
1. I watched the new Chuck episode and went to bed right after. I haven’t gone to bed early since… well, it’s been a while.
2. The last good movie that I have seen was Soul Surfer. It was a truly inspirational movie- and almost made me cry at the end, showing the real Bethany Hamiliton highlights. I really want to see Tower Heist so bad! My friend’s mom went to see it last night and said it was really funny.
Lindsay @ lemon lime sunshine says
Luke and I watched that movie last weekend. It was really funny. It was his turn to pick the movie and usually when that happens its something totaly dumb and a waste of time. But I definitely enjoyed this one!
