For being a Monday, yesterday wasn’t half bad!
I started my day with an early morning workout (my favorite way to kick off a Monday) in the form of Total Body Cardio from 21 Day Fix. That’s definitely one of my go-to videos when I’m craving a little bit of everything…weights, cardio, and sweat.
The weather around here yesterday was a little more damp and dreary than it was over the weekend, but I didn’t mind because it gave me an excuse to break out my favorite leather jacket again. I also wore my new Old Navy shirt yesterday and was thrilled to discover that it fit great AND was super comfy (I didn’t try it on in the store).
- Jacket: Express (mine is from a couple of years ago, but they currently have THIS ONE that is similar…and I WANT IT)
- Sweater: Old Navy
- Pants: Kut From The Kloth Danny 5-Pocket Knit Pant via Stitch Fix (I seriously wear these things at least 3-4 times a week…)
- Flats: Sole Society
I actually worked from home for about an hour in the morning before heading out for a follow up allergy and asthma appointment.
Unfortunately, I got out of the habit of going for my weekly allergy injections right before Christmas and just never went back. I blame it on that and the fact that my new insurance sort of blows. But, regardless, my allergies have been in need of some major help. It’s not like I’m constantly running around with a red nose and itchy, watery eyes, but I’ve just been feeling an overall sort of “blah.” The doc prescribed me a nasal spray (which completely freaks me out…just the thought of using one makes my eyes water!) and he said that he thinks I’ll see a world of difference, so I’m staying hopeful. Because, you know, I could really do without the extra post nasal drip and all that fun stuff.
Because I give myself zero extra time in the mornings and never made myself a lunch ahead of time, I ended up making a quick stop at Subway on my way in to work. A couple hours later, I broke into lunch…a teriyaki chicken chopped salad with their new vinaigrette.
Yum yum. Oh, and speaking of yum? How about this dinner I made last night…you guys. Cheeseburger Pizza.
The recipe is actually from the latest issue of Cooking Light magazine (recipe HERE) and woah, was it a winner.
I also made sure to use fresh mozzarella and fresh cheddar on it, which I think made a huge difference. I absolutely loved it, not to mention the fact that it probably took all of about 25 minutes from start to finish. Can’t beat that!
Now as I’m sitting here typing this up, I’m feeling semi-motivated to bake something up with the enormous amount of bananas we currently have sitting on our kitchen counter.
I’ve actually had this recipe pinned for a little while now and I keep saying I want to make it. However, the closer I get to the end of this post, the more enticing my couch is sounding. Soooo…maybe we’ll make some stuff with bananas tomorrow.
And hey, if anyone has a “must-make” recipe that uses ripe bananas, please feel free to share! I’m always looking for fun ways to use up my bananas. Since I don’t already have enough of them or anything…
- Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Banana Raisin Pumpkin Bread
- Basic Banana Muffins
- Blueberry Banana Bread
- Cinnamon Sugar Crusted Banana Bread
- Dark Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
- Low-Fat Banana Bread
- Oatmeal Raisin Banana Muffins
- Pumpkin Banana Bread
I guess some might say I have a banana baking problem…
allergies are so horrible right now. My sinuses are making me run for Kleenex every few minutes. Ugh. Hope your injections help!
Super cute outfit! LOVE the little shoes!
Those bananas look like my counter. Just made banana bars with cream cheese frosting and they were delish!!! Your outfit is adorable!!! Happy Tuesday!!!

i buy bananas each week just so i can bake with them! i never eat them plain (though william does but he’ll only eat like a third of one at a time)
Hmmm, I’d call it a banana baking habit, but not a problem. ;)
You look great! You need to shop for me. Style is not a virtue of mine.
I think cheeseburger pizza may be a combo of two of my favorite things ever! I’m not sure my mouth could handle that!
If you’re looking to switch up your normal banana bread, Mel has an awesome buttermilk banana bread recipe that’s incredible! http://www.melskitchencafe.com/buttermilk-banana-bread/
I love the normal kind of banana bread, but this one is different than any other kind I’ve made, and so yummy!
Hey girl! I think I’ve asked this before (but I forget!): How far in advance do you make your salads (and do you mix *everything* all together, or do you wait to add certain ingredients until the last second?). Thanks! :) xo ♥
I used to get allergy shots and honestly, they didn’t end up helping that much. I also used a nasal spray and that was helpful but it feels kind of disgusting when you first spray it.
I love the Express jacket! I’m such a big fan of their clothes, they are always so flattering. I’m also a big fan of Cooking Light recipes, they are the best!
I love your outfit! And really, how could you go wrong with cheeseburger pizza? It basically combines two of the tastiest foods in one :D
I freeze overripe bananas for banana soft serve in the food processor. Sadly, I’m the only one who actually likes it, but when I was lifting weights regularly, adding a scoop of chocolate casein protein made it chocolatey and amazing.
I have some ripe bananas that I could use up too. I’m always overwhelmed with which banana bread/cake/muffin recipe to use because there are SO many amazing looking ones. Let us know what you end up making!
I know the idea of using a nose spray is terrifying – it took me forever to get on that band wagon but I highly recommend it. It works so well and is a piece of cake, once you get used to it.
That’s what I’m hoping, Jill! :)
Cute outfit!! And the pizza looks delish!! What do you use for the pizza crust? Or do you buy a premade pizza shell? Like you, I have little ones and not much time after work so quick dinners are a MUST! Did Lucas eat the pizza?
For this one I used a Boboli crust (that’s what the recipe called for) and it was quick and easy. I usually buy the premade dough and roll that out, but if I have extra time, I love a good, homemade dough/crust!
I`ve been making these muffins everyweek for breakfast they are that good! http://www.averiecooks.com/2013/10/flourless-peanut-butter-chocolate-chip-mini-blender-muffins.html. I usally double the recipe and use a regular muffin tin..so good.
I’ve been seeing these on Pinterest ALL the time, but never really looked at the recipe. Totally going to make them now…thanks, Hannah!!
That leather jacket is super cute.
My mom’s favorite pizza toppings are ground beef and onion – sort of hamburger related.
Cute outfit! You always look so put together. Allergies are the worst! Definitely grab some saline if you’re using a prescription allergy spray, it’ll help with how dry they leave you.
I second the flourless pb muffins from averie cooks. My son LOVES them and you can double a batch easily, add chocolate chips or not. They’re good and so easy.
I have to buy 2 bunches of bananas if I want any leftover, my son would eat 2 every single day if I let him. Ahhh the toddler diet :)
Have you tried the allergy trio with your Young Living Oils? It is lemon, lavender and peppermint. You can diffuse it in your house to see if it helps! I use Young Living oils and I have heard amazing things about the allergy trio. I currently cannot use it because I have to stay away from peppermint (nursing mamma) but I would give it a try! You may not need the nasal spray after all!
Yes! It does seem to help a bit, but I feel like I need something more… :)
I freeze banana’s when they turn brown even really brown ones in bags. When I am ready to use I thaw and put in my recipe I am using for banana bread, muffins, cake, etc. I think they make everything taste better
after they turn dark and are frozen and then thawed. Try it, I think you will like how your recipe turns out
I have terrible allergies and the two biggest things that help me are doing a daily sinus rinse (or Neti pot) and taking a supplement, it’s called isonotix opc-3 (Amazon). The isotonix is supposed to help with your immune system and I’ve found it to work really well!
I literally *just* made banana bread this week simply because I had way to ripe bananas that I could not throw away. I always make this recipe (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/2885187237882356/) and its amazing!
Love the new top! Hope those allergies clear up soon.
I love using old bananas to make banana oatmeal pancakes or banana french toast. I usually eat it for a snack or after dinner for dessert, topped with some chocolate PB2 and sliced bananas, hits the spot!
Love your sole society flats! Are they comfy?
Thanks Pam! Yes, they are probably one of the comfiest pairs of flats I own…LOVE them!
All of those banana recipes look amazing!!! :) I run into the same problem and then freeze them. THEN I can thaw them out and have instant mashed, ripe bananas when I am in the mood to make a banana treat :)
