Happy Monday to you! How did the weekend treat you?!
I’m fairly certain that both of our kiddos were conspiring against us on Saturday…but despite that, we still managed to get out of the house for some fun with friends!
Lucas’s pal Kaura had her birthday party, so we ventured out to celebrate and enjoy a beautiful evening outside.
The big kids and the adults played…
While the babies hung out and did what babies do. This is Alex’s buddy, Stella, who was born just two weeks after him!
There was some delicious BBQ for dinner from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que (a favorite of ours!).
And then the ice cream truck came shortly afterwards, which was a huge hit for both kids and adults (I was totally psyched for my chipwich!)
Oh yes, and there were birthday cupcakes, which Lucas clearly did not like.
And just for fun, we re-created almost the same photo of the kiddos as last year – crazy to see what a difference a year makes (plus two extra babies!)
It wasn’t easy getting out of the house with both boys that day, but is sure did feel good to get dressed in real clothes and actually wash and do my hair for a change (it hasn’t happened often this summer!).
On Sunday, we headed over to my parents’ house to enjoy a few hours by the pool in the afternoon.
We had hot dogs and corn on the cob <—perfect summer lunch!
Oh, and P.S. – please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks the New England style hot dog buns are the absolute BEST (but only if they’re buttered and toasted!).
(another Instagram stories post!)
Other than that, there’s not a whole lot to share from the weekend. I did attempt to start getting back on the meal planning bandwagon (although I have yet to make it to the grocery store, so there’s that…)
I also got this adorable new bracelet that I purchased from a Keep Collective that my pal Chelsey was having. I had never heard of these before, but I could easily see how you could spend a fortune with all the fun different charms and whatnot.
I’m looking forward to adding more!
Oh, and I also held my first Usborne Books party last night with an awesome host (thanks, Kate!), which was so much fun!!
This week is definitely going to be an interesting and busy week with starting back to work on Wednesday and I’m filled with all sorts of emotions that I’ll most likely spill into a post on here soon. That said, I hope you all have a fabulous week ahead and enjoy the last of August!!

It’s so fun when your friends have children around the same age as yours. We had a similar party this weekend and everyone had a blast! I can hardly believe your maternity leave is over this week. Where did the time go?!

What a fun day getting out of the house. It can be hard with one baby, let alone two, but it’s always worth it in the end. And pool time on Sunday! How fun. Good luck getting back to work this week.

Isn’t it amazing how something like taking a shower, putting on “real” clothes, doing your hair and makeup, all in the same day is now something that can make you feel like an absolute rockstar, when pre-kids it was just the norm?? I still feel pretty fabulous each time I actually get out the door looking half way decent myself, plus having two dressed kiddos. Serious high ten emoji to you, lady!

Looks like you had a great weekend! It’s amazing how when I take a shower, get dressed, and do my hair, I feel like a whole new person. :)

Awww….I go back to work the day after Labor Day. My second child is just a few weeks older than Alex. I’m feeling all sorts of emotions too (including frustration that my pre-baby work clothes still don’t fit!) Solidarity sister!!

Ahhh, best of luck to you heading back too, Christina!

Those buns are the absolute best! You are right though, they have to be buttered and grilled. :-)

Prayers for you returning to work! My LO is 4 1/2 months and I still cry weekly if not daily! HARDEST EVER!

New England style buns are the best and the only ones I like…sadly it is very hard to find them in the south. These southerners need to be converted. I don’t see why anyone buys anything else
