Alright, so Magic Mike? Ohhhh boy.
For those of you (aka, all of you) who told me that it really wasn’t that great of a movie, I’d have to agree. The story with the movie was awful…HOWEVER, who the heck would go to see that movie for the storyline…am I right?
I got what I went to pay for: a little eye candy on a lovely Monday afternoon and some QT with my girl Eileen.
By the time I got home from the movie, I really wasn’t in the mood to make our planned dinner, but we had some backup options so I wasn’t too worried. As I was looking through the fridge to figure something out, Jay turned to me and said, “Hey, I think one of your zucchinis might be ready to pick?”
SERIOUSLY?
I ran outside to scope out the scene…
I searched around a bit, and it didn’t take long to spot…do you see it?
A little closer now…
Look at that! I grew my first zucchini!
I’m sure this probably is not normal to be so excited about a zucchini, but considering the green black thumb that I have, this is quite the victory.
In addition to my whopper of a zucchini, there’s quite a few smaller ones getting ready, as well as some green tomatoes…
…and some more peppers plus a side of weeds.
So despite the fact that I have two zucchinis in my fridge right now that I bought from the store last week, I let them be and decided to cook up my brand new garden masterpiece to have with dinner.
I sliced and sautéed the zucchini with some garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Then, once they were all cooked through, I drizzled them with a little balsamic vinaigrette and let them cook for another couple minutes.
If you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend it!
Along with the zucchini, I threw together a couple ham and turkey bacon wraps for Jay and I.
Mine was filled with the ham and turkey bacon, lettuce tomato, and honey mustard. Deeeee-lish.
Time to go clean up and hang out with the boys for the evening!
