Keep your fingers crossed, my friends. Today *should* be the day we found out when our closing is on the house, and I’m reeeeeally keeping my fingers crossed that we can make it happen for Tuesday. Either way, this should still be the week and I am beside myself with excitement!
But before I get too ahead of myself…the weekend. It was a good one! Starting off with a quiet Friday night.
My mom had plans to go out and both Jay and my dad were playing softball, so I put Lucas to bed a half hour early, poured some wine, and gave myself a little mani-pedi while watching some Shark Tank (reruns). Friday night perfection!
A couple hours later, my dad and Jay got home, and we were all a little hungry, so we decided to make a late-night platter of nachos, which totally hit the spot.
On Saturday morning, I tossed the idea back and forth of going to the Farmer’s Market, and after my parents decided to go, I figured I’d take Lucas on the trip. It was a beautiful day and the crowds were out in full force.
Lucas and I enjoyed some sun, picked up a few things (including some rose wine because…wine), and snacked on some samples.
And it wasn’t long before we met up with these cool cats.
Right around the corner from the Troy Farmer’s Market, they actually have a spray ground right along the river, so we walked over assuming that Lucas would enjoy it.
Well, Mr. Apprehensive was at it again, and didn’t want to go anywhere near the water, even though he loved watching it from afar.
So we went to the river and waved to the boats going by instead. Much more his pace, apparently.
Shortly after getting in the car to go home from the market, Lucas wound up throwing up all over himself. Lucky me. So one quick pit stop to the side of the road later to clean up the blueberries (blech), we were back home and the little man went down for his nap. Thankfully, he just got sick the one time, which I think was mostly due to him inhaling the blueberries just too fast.
So once we saw he was settled, we spent the rest of the afternoon here.
Tough life, I’ll tell ya.
And then, because we’d been craving it for weeks, we ordered some takeout sushi for dinner.
Innnnn-credible.
On a side note, I wanted to show you guys my hair from Sunday because for the first time in what I feel confident in saying is forever, I didn’t wash my hair for 4 straight days (pretty sure my longest streak was 3 days?). Seriously. I don’t think I ever even went that long when Lucas was in his newborn phase?!
But since it was still looking fairly fresh, thanks to some added baby powder massaged in there (my dry shampoo must be packed away?), so I figured I’d let it go a bit longer. Mind you, there was only one workout that took place within those four days, and it wasn’t all that sweaty, so that was definitely a huge contributing factor. But still, I’m kinda diggin the extra time with getting ready in the morning when I don’t wash it everyday!
Sunday morning, we also went and visited our cousins Joe and Angela, and I am basically OBSESSED with their entire home. Is it not gorgeous??
I told her she needs to come help me and just replicate everything she did because I. Am. In. Love.
Our Sunday afternoon plans were foiled thanks to a certain toddler who didn’t feel like napping, but hey, you can’t win ‘em all. So we just hung around the house for the afternoon (I wasn’t really in the mood for another pool day…crazy I know), and window shopped online for anything and everything. Like a mailbox…you know, fun things like that.
Oh, and blinds/shades/curtains? Just shoot me now. I priced out a few for some of our windows that are a big larger in size, and they’d probably cost half of a month’s salary for me. Needless to say…we won’t be getting those.
The rest of our Sunday was fairly chill, ending with some time out on the porch and a delicious dinner courtesy of my mama. Homemade pasta salad, corn on the cob, and grilled chicken.
And word on the street is that my dad is making some cookies in a few minutes tonight, so I’d say we’ll be ending the weekend on a high note!
How about you guys? What was happening this weekend? Anything exciting happening for the week ahead?

Our new furniture was delivered this weekend, so some unpacking was done. Also, some time was spent at the beach. This week, I return back to work full time (been part time with the recent move and little lady being born). Good thing I love my job : ) Have a great Monday! Fingers crossed today is the day for you guys!!!

sounds like a fun weekend! Have you ever ordered from West Elm? I like their stuff and they always have a great promo code flying around to save like 30% off.

I love putting baby powder in my air! I’m glad I’m not the only one!

Crossing my fingers & toes for ya!
No nap days are the worst! I hope one day we have a pool to hang by. For now, just the beach, which we don’t get to often, because:8 month old! ?
Your cousins house is super cute!! I’d let her decorate mine too.
We hung around home during nap times, the Sat/Sun evenings went out with C after her second naps. She had so much fun just being out/beach/downtown/kid watching.
Have a fabulous Monday.

I ordered a bunch of custom blinds from selectblinds.com. It was easy and very reasonable pricing. They always have promotional sales, as well. I had buy 3 get 1 free and like 30% off or something. Check it out!

Love when you get longer out of washing your hair! Sweaty workouts definitely put a halt to it though! The longest I’ve gotten is five days after having it blow dryed and chopped…obviously with some dry shampoo help! Must try the baby powder trick! Love farmers markets! Should be off this coming weekend so can’t wait to go to one!

hope all goes well today!

Some days I can barely pull off the second day hair, and other times I can go three or four days. So strange. LOVE the living room. Tell them to sign me up for design help, too!

Your hair looks pretty good after four days. Mine would be crazy town because it is so fine that is just looks weird! The pool looks awesome!
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday says
I’m lucky if three-day hair looks good, but yours still looks really fresh after four!! I love the baby powder trick. People always think that sounds strange, and it might be, but it totally works. Good luck with the closing!

I agree – simply gorgeous! Oh, and I think nachos have the magical ability to taste better as the night gets later. Just my opinion…

I love your cousin’s living room – wow! You should get her to post more pictures, because I would love to steal some of her ideas:) I can’t wait to see pictures of your finished house! So exciting! Crossing my fingers for you today!!

The farmer’s market is one of my favorite places to go on the weekend. So much great food and it’s fun to people watch.

OMG I’m obsessed with Shark Tank reruns! They play when I’m out at Trivia each week and I often have trouble concentrating on the game!
Colleen @ The Lunchbox Diaries says
1. Please have your cousin come decorate my house. She’s done an incredible job!!!
2. In December, we’ll have been in the house for 3 years, and we STILL don’t have blinds or window treatments downstairs. It’s insane expensive and we always find something else (like, deck furniture) to spend that money on.

I was getting ready to suggest selectblinds.com and saw someone else did too! We used them for our 4 oversized windows in our living room and I want to say we paid way less than $500 for everything. They send you a ton of samples too which was key since we wanted natural wood for this particular room.
It looks like they’re having a big sale today too.:)
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Ok pretty sure no one’s house looks like that in real life! That looks like it’s straight out of a magazine! Wow! And poor Lucas!!! I think if I inhaled blueberries too quickly I’d throw them up too ;) Glad you were able to relax in that pool though, totally jealous! It looks wonderful!
Sarah says
Where did your cousin buy her coffee table? I’ve been wanting one just like that for years. Love it!
Stacie @ SimplySouthernStacie says
I’m so impressed by your unwashed hair! I think the longest I can go and get away with being in public is 3 days.

i always forget about Troy’s Farmer’s Market! such a lovely day to be outside for sure. i was upstate at the lake right near there this wknd with the fam. did a long run Sat am and then chilled on the kayak/boat all day before going to Hana for hibachi that night and then some salsa on Central Ave with the bro and friends. love my summer wknds up in Rensselaer/Alb counties. :) and yes, that house is amazing and she should help every female decorate!

Beautifully decorated home! The hubby and I bought our first house last year and we struggle with decorating. (we overanalyze everything + tight-wads = difficult buyers. the poor salesmen….ha!)
We hired Budget Blinds to install faux wood blinds in our house – easiest thing ever, and honestly, not that much more than if we would have purchased & installed them ourselves. Saved us a major headache. Plus, they come with a lifetime warranty.
Kristy @ Southern In Law says
Ummm, so I think it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with your cousin’s house too!
Looks like you guys had an awesome weekend!
Patricia says
With the unwashed hair, are you getting it wet when you shower or is that 4 days of no washing and no rinsing?
It looks fantastic.
Courtney says
No water at all, Patty! I sport a super sexy purple shower cap when I don’t wash it ;) But if it got wet, that would likely ruin my chances of keeping it looking halfway decent!
Lisa says
I would also love to know where your cousin’s coffee table is from?!?
Courtney says
I think she said it’s an older Pottery Barn table!
Angela says
I actually got it online from Jcpenny. Its the “Elm Rectangular Coffee Table” It’s a total score right now with the sale they’re having!
Sarah says
Thank you!!!
