Five Favorites (+ My Best Stitch Fix Yet!)

By Courtney 45 Comments

So pretty much everyone in my blog reader always does their “Friday Favorite” posts, which I love. Buuuut it’s only Tuesday and I’ve got some favorites I wanna share now. Five of ‘em, to be exact!

First, I got this month’s Stitch Fix delivery on Saturday and it is probably my absolute favorite fix yet! (In case you’re new to Stitch Fix, you can read more details about the service in my first post about them).

I’ve gotten six fixes now (one a month for the past six months) but I haven’t blogged about it in a while because I just hadn’t really loved my last few. The items were either the wrong size or just not my style, and I was honestly starting to get a little bummed. But I figured I’d give it another shot, and I’m SO glad I did. Here’s a look at my five keepers:

Market and Spruce Trina Crochet Detail Tab-Sleeve Shirt — $48.00

IMG_8066

Loved the extra detailing at the top, the extra “puffs” on the sleeves, and the longer length. I’m thinking this could look really cool with some dark grey/charcoal leggings, boots, and a scarf for fall.

IMG_8068

I think I’m just gonna need a strapless bra. Ugh. #hatethose

Under Skies Joya Floral Print Split Neck Tab Sleeve Top — $38.00

IMG_8070

I was immediately drawn to the colors and pattern on this top when I pulled it out of the box and was happy to see it fit as well as I’d hoped.

IMG_8073

I’m sure it’ll look even better when, you know, I put an iron to it. Winking smile

Pixley Kathryn Pearl Cluster Bauble Necklace — $58.00

IMG_8075

I looooooove this necklace, you guys. I’d been looking for a necklace like this for a while (I even pinned a couple on Pinterest) and this is perfect. It’s also adjustable, which is nice, so it’ll work with plenty of different tops.

Kut From The Kloth Danny 5-Pocket Knit Pant — $68.00

IMG_8077Ignore the dirty mirror shot, please

These things fit like. a. glove. I love how they’re stretchy like a legging, but have pockets and stitching like a regular pant. A total winner.

IMG_8084

And finally, my absolute favorite item in this month’s fix…

Emperia Clarita Messenger Bag — $58.00

IMG_8085

I cannot even begin to tell you how long I’d been looking for a brown messenger bag. Months, easily.

IMG_8088

But this bag was a keeper the moment I took it out of the box. I love the color, the size, the style, and especially, the extra pockets.

IMG_8090

The extra front pocket there is perfect for holding those few things I always need access to quickly (phone, keys, sunglasses, gum), and the extra little clutch is perfect for when you just need a little something smaller.

IMG_8091

Overall, with the 25% discount for keeping all 5 pieces, my total for this fix came to about $167.00, which I think is totally reasonable. Thank you, Stitch Fix, for an amazing fix!! If you haven’t tried it out yet and have been toying with the idea, I say just go for it!

As for the rest of my favorites today…

This chocolate bar. I found it at Target last week, bought it, and left it in my desk at work. Forgot all about it until yesterday. WOW.

IMG_8104

I’m going to try to just eat a square or two a day…yeeeeeah, we’ll see about that.

Our completed DIY project…check it out!

IMG_8044

Jay and I finished our coat hook shelf on Sunday, hung it, and decorated it. I am so incredibly thrilled with how it came out. I’m planning on sharing some details on how we went about making it soon, since many of you have asked.

Speaking of DIY projects…another favorite of mine today is the second project that’s underway!

IMG_8058IMG_8059

I mean, I don’t even know who we are anymore over here? Since when did we get so freakin’ crafty?!

And finally, my last favorite today would have to be last night’s dinner.

IMG_8123

In this month’s Cooking Light magazine, there was a recipe for Seared Tilapia with Spinach and White Bean Orzo. It looked super easy and quick so I added it to the dinner menu for this week and it turned out great. Searing fish is definitely the way to go for me these days. How do you guys like to cook your fish?

Alright, my friends, that’s a wrap! What are some of your favorites so far this week?

Oh I love love love that floral top and messenger bag! I want to try stitch fix, but the prices are a little out of my student budget for now. The coat hook looks great, you are going to need to do a how to post for your crafts!

Looks like you got a great fix too! I love that messenger bag. I always forget that they have bags and purses. I think I told my stylist not to send me any, but I may have to rethink that now.

Awesome Fix this time for sure ... I love that those pants have stitching and buttons like "real" jeans too - it probably makes you feel like you're actually wearing pants instead of yoga pants lol. Your DIY projects are looking great ... maybe you could send Jay over to give me a hand with some of mine since he's becoming such a professional with it all? ;) Definitely pinned the tilapia and orzo salad recipes ... they both look yummy!

I'm totally old school and ripped out the Tilapia and Orzo Salad recipe page from the magazine! After looking at your picture, now I really can't wait to make it! Also, I received a purse from Stitch Fix that I absolutely love!

You totally got a winner of a Stitch Fix box! Love everything! I'm envisioning that navy top with some leggings and boots too - so perfect for fall! And I'd have to agree with Heather above. I think you could totally get away with a nude bra and not have to wear a strapless. And that messenger bag really is perfect! What brand is it?! Once again, LOVE your DIY shelf! You guys did on awesome job on it.

Definitely a nude bra for under that top...or, when the weather gets colder, you can always wear a little strappy blue tank top and bra underneath (Target almost always has those available....at least in CA they do!). LOVE that necklace and the messenger bag. I wouldn't mind if both of those ended up in my next 'Fix!

I shared our almost finished bathroom (which, coincidentally, is still not any closer to being finished, haha) - https://www.sweettoothsweetlife.com/2014/08/14/almost-finished-bathroom-remodel/ And my messy bun? Haha, oh gosh...I literally just half tie my ponytail around a hair tie (don't pull the pony all the way through). It's my lazy hair "do" ;)

You really did get a cute fix! I love the pants and the necklace. And if a nude bra still doesn't look right under the navy top, VS has bras with interchangeable clear straps that you can use as well. I'm also a huge strapless hater so I'll do anything to avoid them.
