Do you guys remember a few months ago when I shared my lovely skin condition known as Keratosis Pilaris?
Shortly after that post, I received numerous recommendations from many of you on how you’ve been able to get your symptoms to subside a bit (I was also surprised to hear that so many of you also share the pain with me). I mean, don’t get me wrong…I can probably think of 100 other things that could be worse than having KP, but that doesn’t discount the fact that it still sucks. Especially once tank top season approaches (amirightfellowkpfolks?). But now, I’m excited…
Cheesy mirror photo – you are welcome.
I had to give you guys a little update because I think I may have actually found something that really does help (not cure – unfortunately, it’s my understanding that you can’t really get rid of it completely) my KP, thanks to Rodan + Fields!
**I would absolutely recommend getting in touch with Colleen (her Rodan + Fields site can be found HERE) because she is amazing at what she does and will be able to help you find something perfectly suited for YOU!
Funny enough, I feel like I’ve actually seen quite a bit floating around the blog world about Rodan + Fields lately, but I hadn’t really taken the time to dig deeper or find out more about the company. So here’s a little rundown…
Rodan + Fields are actually the doctors that created Proactiv Solution in the early 90’s, and they started a new company, Rodan + Fields Dermatologists. Whereas their Proactiv line was geared more towards teenage acne, they are now focusing their new line on aging and common skin problems. Their goal was to bring prescription office results to consumers over-the-counter and, so far, it seems like they’re succeeding.
They created (4) new lines for the most common skin problems they see in their practices…
- REDEFINE for fine lines and wrinkles
- REVERSE for sun damage and brown spots
- UNBLEMISH for Adult acne
- SOOTHE for sensitive skin (i.e., rosacea and eczema)
Not only do they have skincare, but they also offer at-home tools to use that are said to offer similar results as in-office dermatology procedures (no-needles/laser/etc.).
(You can see many of their success stories and photos here: https://www.rodanandfields.com/images/Archives/RF_FlipBook_Final2014.pdf)
But back to the KP…
Here are the products that have been working: ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste + SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment.
I received some samples to try out, which arrived a few days later but, unfortunately, the holidays happened and I had kind of forgotten about them. Eventually, they made their way to the surface again (out from under a pile of random STUFF) and I started using them right away.
Immediately, I noticed that my skin felt smoother to the touch after the first appilcation. The micro-dermabrasion paste was gentle enough where it didn’t hurt rubbing it on the skin (some can be rough, right?), and once I finished with the lotion, the scent alone had me feeling like I was walking out of a spa. It just has that sort of smell – relaxation and pampering.
The samples lasted for about 3 days for me, and by the end of the third day, I was emailing Renee to tell her that I had to get my hands on more of this stuff. I was shocked to see a noticeable difference in such a short amount of time!
Full disclosure – I was offered the full size products in exchange for a post, which I was very happy to do. And I will say that I absolutely, 100% will purchase these items myself once I run out of my current supply. I’m really that in love with them.
I’ve seen some great improvements in my KP, and I’ve also been using the micro-dermabrasion paste occasionally (every 3-4 days) on my face too, which feels wonderful.
Unfortunately, I never took any “before” photos, but here’s a look at how my arms are looking now, after about 2-1/2 weeks of solid use.
Doesn’t it look like I’m flexing?
My “bumpies” or “cucumber arms,” as I’ve always called them aren’t exactly baby soft, but they’re definitely improved from what they have been and I am absolutely ecstatic about it!
Again, if any of you are also struggling with KP, I would absolutely recommend getting in touch with Colleen (her Rodan + Fields site can be found HERE) and checking out the products from Rodan + Fields.
And just to reiterate – this is not a sponsored post in any way. I’m not affiliated with the company and I don’t get any “perks” for anyone that may purchase. I did receive these products free of charge, but I will absolutely spend my own money on future products and really just wanted to share what worked for me.
