1. I can’t believe we’re already in October. I don’t know, maybe I say this every month, but I feel like September flew by in the blink of an eye. And then on top of that, the weather has dropped like 20 degrees over the past couple of days and whew, it is chilly. I love me some fall, but I don’t think I was quite prepared for temps in the 40s at night! Brrrr.
2. The other night, I had cereal for dinner and I’m telling you, it was probably my favorite dinner all week.
Sometimes, a cereal combo (Quaker Oatmeal Squares + Mini Frosted Shredded Wheat + bananas + almond milk) just really hits the spot, no matter what time of day it is.
3. Did you guys check out my post on Instagram earlier this week? Umm……
If somebody finds these in the store, please TELL ME ASAP. Not all of the new Oreo flavors have been sounding too appealing lately, but these? NEED to get my hands on them.
4. I came across this post earlier in the week: 8 Things You Need to Know About Millennial Moms and I just loved it. Super interesting read.
5. For the past few weeks, I’ve really been getting back into using my Young Living essential oils. I had my starter kit packed up for the summer while we were moving, and I didn’t realize just how much I’d missed them!
I recently purchased R.C. (Respiratory & Congestion), which is supposed to be amazing for colds, and I’m so glad that I did. Lucas started with a cough and runny nose out of nowhere earlier this week, so I cut the R.C. with some coconut oil and mixed it with a couple other oils, and have been rubbing it into his chest, back, and feet. I’ve also been diffusing the R.C. in his room at night before bed and, believe it or not, he woke up the next morning cough free and has been great since.
I’ve had my eye on the KidScents Oil Collection, but unfortunately it’s out of stock right now. I still have a lot to learn about the oils, but I’m really excited about them. If you’ve ever considered trying out Young Living oils for yourself, now is a great time. I really can’t say enough good things about them!
6. I came across this amazing post a couple of days ago – definitely worth a read and a GREAT reminder!
7. One of my favorite things about working from home on Wednesdays? Being able to make a legit breakfast.
Kodiak Cakes, for the win!
8. So funny enough, the evening that I posted about Lucas’s “wonderful” eating habits? He wound up eating two turkey hot dogs for dinner AND actually tried cucumbers again. AND even ate 3 sticks of them.
I considered that a major victory! And last night, I used a mini star cookie cutter to cut him stars out of thick-sliced natural turkey I got from the deli and he went for that, too. But the child has barely eaten a lunch in like, 3 days, so don’t think we’re making huge strides over here or anything. Baby steps.
9. I have been loving the fact that so many of my favorite shows are back on TV! If you’re ever looking for me on a Wednesday, you’ll likely find me watching shows on ABC from about 8-11pm. Gahhh, I’m so bad. But seriously…Nashville?!?! Loooooove.
10. This has been quite a week. On top of things being incredibly hectic at work, things at home have been just as busy and tough. I want to thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers for our family, and I promise I’m really not trying to be super annoying and vague. We got some pretty surprising news that we’re all still dealing with, so once the dust settles and things have calmed down a bit, I’m sure I’ll be able to share more. I thank you all so incredibly much.
Alright my friends, I’m off for today. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, whatever you may be doing! <3

I’m a little sad that September is over. It’s my birthday month, so that automatically makes it the best month (;-) ). And I have a friend who sells YL oils. They’re absolutely awesome. If I can ever afford a starter kit, I want to get one.

Birthday cake Oreos will forever be my favorite. And can we just talk about how addicted I am to prime time TV. I really forgot how much TV I can/do watch over the summer, but now that all my favorite shows are back, I am spending WAY too much time on the couch! But I don’t hate it… : )

Those oils look wonderful! I absolutely love using essential oils and after reading all the hype about rosehip seed oil I just bought my first bottle from Amazon! I use lavendar at night when I’m feeling stressed (so most nights ;) ) and eucalyptus when I feel a cold coming on. So great they helped Lucas too!
Have a great weekend!

I am obsessed with fall TV, although aside from my favorites, there are not a lot of new shows that I’m interested in.
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday says
It’s interesting that you noticed such a difference without the oils! I’ve been considering trying them out for a while… might need to give it a shot.
Keeping your family in my thoughts. I hope you have a good weekend!

I feel you on not being ready for a drop to the 40s this week! Yikes. Also, breakfast for dinner is a favorite of mine. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t do it at least once every time Scott travels. ;) I hope you have a great weekend… sending prayers your way. <3
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Fall is my FAVORITE but I definitely was not ready for that sudden drop last week! I’m working on some recipe development and I realized all of my ideas were for WARM WEATHER…oops! Time to rethink my strategy! ;)
Katie @ Live Half Full says
I love working from home so I can eat real meals! Also, agreed on cereal- sometimes it’s the best dinner!
Alyssa @ Renaissancerunnergirl says
The weather has been crazy here in the Northeast – from 80s and sunny to 40s/50s and dreary. But that just means more time to bake autumn treats with pumpkin and banana to warm me up, I guess!

Those Oreos!! I am on a mission to find them. And I’ve been really interested in aromatherapy / essential oils lately. I learned that they can have amazing benefits both mentally and holistically. My aunt is a firm believer in them, and actually has had several of her patients cured of their anxiety and off all other medications just from wearing a vial of a special blend of oils around their neck! How amazing is that? I hope you have a great weekend! :)

Yup, that’s pretty much how I feel about a 6 pk too. Ive been so close to having them before, many would probably argue that I did have them but couldn’t see the forest through the trees myself, however I was miserable. The diet you have to maintain was too unrealistic for me. Could have written the article myself. ?
Love cereal nights. This post made me want a bowl of rice chex/Life with a banana.
Kids eating= my nemesis too. Caroline willactually eat more it we just put her sippy milk and food on her toddler table than if we make her sit in the high chair. So crazy!
? Nashville. I need to catch up!!
Praying for you and your family. ❤?

I have cereal for dinner several times per week…yes, it’s not the greatest, but it’s good and quick. I must find those oreos!!
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
We don’t get all those interesting flavors of things here in Canada that you have in the States. But I have to admit that those Oreos look pretty darn good!
Kaitlyn says
Will be thinking of your family and sending prayers your way!
I obviously don’t know what your situation is, but I can 100% relate to tough, surprising news. I found out a few weeks ago that my parents, who have been married for 30 years, are separating and it’s been so incredibly sad, hard and confusing.
xoxo

Oreo reps have confirmed the flavor IS REAL but have not confirmed a release date yet. :)
