Fun Facts Friday {1/29}

By Courtney 32 Comments

1. Man, oh man. It’s been tough over here this week. We’re still dealing with a fever with Lucas, which has him so not himself. I’ve been watching him like a hawk and spent one night on the floor of his room with him just because…I didn’t want to leave him. I’m guessing I’ll likely be in there again tonight (Thursday) either from  him waking up or because I just feel better when I’m close by. Please keep your fingers crossed that he fights off whatever this is soon!

2. I don’t think I ever showed you guys one of my big Christmas presents from Jay this year…a new KitchenAid mixer! There was an awesome deal on Amazon back on Cyber Monday (I think?) and I jokingly told Jay that I’d love it.

IMG_5595

Well, he surprised me. AND I love it.

3. And after a month of it sitting in the box, I finally put it to use this week. The first recipe to go in? My favorite Best EVER Cookie Bars, but made with mini baking m&m’s and mini chocolate chips.

IMG_5602

As you can see, we’re making a pretty good dent on them (even though I did bring about half of them to work to share with my co-workers).

4. I sort of want to cut my hair. I’m bored with it, and I love the idea of a lob haircut. Something like this maybe?

I just don’t knowwwww…

5. I’m so looking forward to this weekend (assuming that Lucas is well) because it should be full of some birthday fun! Tonight we’re supposed to be going out to dinner with a group of our friends, and Saturday (my actual birthday) we’ll be going out for dinner with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend. Lots of good food is sure to be happening, and I’m hoping there’s some birthday cake in there somewhere!

6. I totally love the look of this sweater. Is it not adorable? And super cozy, too. Plus, it’s on sale…#tryingtorefrain.

7. You know it’s tax season when the Statue of Liberties are dancing around on the sidewalks. I’ve always wondered what those jobs pay…?

8. I sat down to write this post thinking I had a ton of ideas. But now that I’m sitting here, all I can really think about is getting a cookie bar and going up to check on Lucas. So I think it’s about time I call it for today. Smile

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend, whatever you may be doing!

You should totally cut your hair! I recently got a cut somewhat like that (which took about 10 inches off my hair) and love it! You could totally pull it off too :) I always ask my stylist what she thinks just to make sure as well.

I love the lob haircuts! If I weren’t trying to grow my hair out for my wedding then I would totally get one. I say go for it! Hair always grows back too : )

You should buy that sweater immediately! I am actually wearing it right now, and it is super comfy! Plus you can dress it up or down. I wear it to work or just around the house. I also think it would be great for a growing belly and nursing (I’m not helping you to refrain…). Hope Lucas feels better soon!

The KitchenAid mixer… YES. We got one on clearance on Black Friday a few years back and it’s just the best. Loving that lob hair cut! I finally chopped mine and am debating on whether I want to grow it out again or keep it short. Hmmm. Also toying with the idea of going lighter again. Change is good, right? Have a great birthday weekend, lady! I hope Lucas gets better soon. <3

The “lob” is totally in style right now and you should go for a change– it would look great on you. I actually showed my stylist that same picture and we went for it. Looking back, I would have not gone quite as far right off the bat. Take what you think you want and add a few inches. I made the mistake of cutting off 8 inches at once and looking back I wish I would have done it more slowly because I would have realized I love my long hair. Now I am HOPING and WISHING my hair will grow as fast as possible.

Best post ever! First of all that haircut would look amazing on you. Second, making those cookie bars TONIGHT. Third, sorry to hear about your baby. We are fighting the same thing with my 13 month old. He’s very clingy (not complaining, secretly love it but I feel horrible he’s not himself). Happy Friday – hope everyone is better soon. Oh and buy the sweater!!

My sister was a dancing statue of liberty when she was in college. I don’t think it paid much, but she did get her taxes done for free, which is a win in my book! :-)

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I have two of the Bobeau wraps and wore them all the time when I was pregnant. Mine is a different material, but the style is clsssy and it’s like wearing a blanket in public (in a good way!). They tend to be on sale at Nordstrom rack for less than $20 so if you havd one near you, check it out.
By the way, I love your blog ????

Love the hair style. I recently just cut my hair the same way. After a yr or longer with my hair down to my mid back I got up the guts and chopped it off and couldn’t be happier.

I really hope Lucus is better soon!! Your hair is so pretty long but would look super cute short too but when I cut 10 in off last year into a lob I totally regretted it! :( I could not style my hair with cute tossled messy curls but maybe you would have better luck with it :) That sweater looks super cute and cozy!! Have a great weekend!

Hoping Lucas feels better! We had our first fever with our 6 month old last month and man it was hard to watch when you’re little ones feel so bad! I loved the angled bob….I used to have one but it is HARD to maintain..just food for thought from one mama to the other ;)

Hope you get spoiled this weekend for your birthday! Put your feet up and relax , you deserve it! xo

I hope Lucas feels better so you can enjoy your b-day. I think you’d look super cute w/ a bob – you have such a pretty face; you could totally pull that off! On the other hand, your hair is beautiful long… sometimes it’s fun to change things up, tho, & it’ll always grow back, right?

Sorry your guy is still sick. My little guy had something similar a few weeks ago – the docs were trying so hard to figure out what it was, they even did a mono test – but all it ended up being was just a fever. I think it lasted something crazy like 5 days. It’s never easy when they’re sick. Hang in there!

Happy Birthday! Hope your babe gets better! Love the sweater!! You should get it for your gift to yourself. And my husband bought me a Kitchen Aid mixer many years ago. Best Gift Ever! OK actually I got it from Santa! That’s how it was delivered to my door all wrapped up.
