Fun Facts Friday {1/3}

By Courtney 52 Comments

1. Thanks so much for all of the “Happy Anniversary’s” yesterday! Jay and I didn’t do a whole lot, thanks to the ungodly amount of snow. So we ordered a pizza and just hung out and ate that once Lucas was in bed. We may or may not have finished off the rest of our NYE champagne straight from the bottle too.

IMG_4872

Hiiiii Cody!

2. While Jay and I were watching our wedding video last night, we had some fun pausing the video, taking photos, and sending them to various friends, including my brother (sorry Dan, I had to). I also pretty much decided I’m cutting my hair a bit more and sent that pic to my mom giving her the heads up.

IMG_4859IMG_4865

3. I need to give a HUGE congratulations shout out to my great friends, Joe and Kate, who just welcomed their new baby girl Samantha into the world on January 1st!! The four of us have been talking for months about how we can’t wait for her and Lucas to meet. Muahaha. Winking smile

4. I’ve been toying with the idea of joining a gym again. There’s a Planet Fitness right down the road from where I work and I think I may want to try out the whole lunch hour workout thing. The mornings and evenings just aren’t working for me right now and I really miss moving more than just what I can get done on the weekends. For only $10 or $20/month, I think it may be worth it.

5. I have been totally lovin’ on my green smoothies this week. And Lucas is already pretty interested in them, too.

I’ve managed to make myself one everyday so far this week and seriously…I can’t get enough. SO, so happy to have them back in my life thanks to my amazing new blender. What a difference.

6. The two winners of the City Dining Cards giveaway are:

  • Entry #19: Patty

Those cards have so many great restaurants I’ve wanted to try. If I had to pick one though I would have to go with La Serre. Having a card for $10 off would defiantly cut the cost.

  • Entry #46: Christine

My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting dinner at Merry Monk, so this would be a great reason to go check it out! Thanks for the giveaway

Congrats Patty & Christine! Please email me at sweettoothcourtney at gmail dot com with your shipping address so I can send you your cards! Smile

7. I had a pretty epic salad yesterday for lunch.

IMG_4871

I had packed it to bring to work with me, but with the weather being so crappy, I ended up leaving early and worked the afternoon from home. That thing was AWESOME.

8. I ordered a pair of Reebok sneakers for Lucas earlier this week and I cannot WAIT until they arrive.

reeboks

How cute are they gonna be, right?!? I also ordered this top for myself, which I’m super excited for.

9. I just learned last week that hitting “CTRL + X” on my PC allows me to “cut.” I can’t believe I did not know this? I mean, I’ve known all about “CTRL + C” for copy and “CTRL + V” for paste, but this one? Talk about mind blowing.

10. Every year, without fail, I get all excited about all of the major “post-holiday” sales that are going on. So then I go and start looking for some great deals on clothes and, umm, there’s NOTHING left. Everything is all picked over and/or my size is nowhere to be found. Such a bummer.

11. Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter is back in stock at iHerb.com. I got my email notification last night, so I quickly ordered a few jars before they run out again. If you’re interested, you better jump on that ASAP. (Use my code SAZ564 to get your discount of $5 or $10 off your order!)

Alright, that’s all I’ve got today, my friends! Wishing you all a fantastic weekend! Smile

Soooo excited about justin's!!! I have been dying to try that flavor. Meanwhile, I've been eating spoonfuls of the maple almond butter to keep me satisfied :) Glad you love your Blendtec! That's what I have too and it does wonders for the green smoothies. I've recently added collard greens along with my usual spinach/kale mix. They aren't too overpowering in flavor and packed with nutrients!

My wedding video makes me emotional every time I watch it as well, as does looking through our photo album. I'm such a sap! And the Blendtec is really the best thing ever. I've had mine for a year now and it's my favorite kitchen appliance by far!

I think baby tennis shoes are seriously the cutest! I want to drink more green smoothies more. What do you put in yours? I know you and your husband enjoyed watching y'all's wedding video. My husband and I have said how we thought getting our wedding recording was one of the best decisions we made about the wedding. Now we will always have that to watch!

Snowed in with a pizza and a bottle of champagne sounds like a pretty damn good night, if you ask me :) I need to start making green smoothies again. They taste 100000x's better than the greens supplements powders, which is what I'm doing now. Bleh!

I love your hair short from that photo! I just decided I'm growing mine back out. I miss my long hair! Hunter has some of those Reebok VentureFlex shoes, and they're the CUTEST things! He looks so grown up in them! Great job on getting all those GREENS in! It's something I've been working on lately. I always have a harder time during the winter months!

The lunchtime workout thing is the ONLY reason I was able to workout 5ish days a week while working full time 8-5 and going to school full time 6-9:30. Now that I've graduated I continue it because I think it will be ideal when we have kids! I love your short hair! Can't wait to see the result!

How nice that you got to work from home for the afternoon ... glad your office was willing to let you out to avoid the poor driving conditions. Better safe than sorry. I'm excited to see your hair once you cut it ... I'm thinking it will be very similar to my own and ... well ... that's just awesome! I totally know what you mean about not being able to find your size during those lovely post-holiday sales. You head to the store or browse on the internet and find the most *awesome* new sweater, pair of boots, etc. only to see that your size is no longer in stock. Disappointing, I know. There's literally only XS and XXL left on the rack. This happens to me a lot, even when there's no huge promotion happening. I just take it as a sign that lots of girls must just wear the same size as me ... and that makes me feel a little better! LOL (BTW ... LOVE that Reebok top you ordered for yourself ... looks incredibly comfortable while still being stylish. You'll have to report on it once you try it out!) Enjoy your weekend and STAY WARM! Upstate New York is more like Antarctica today!

You really need to upgrade your bubbly, try LaMarca Prosecco. You're married adults and parents with very good taste in beer, just try something better and just a little bit more expensive.

I have a hard time making my own salads look appealing, but I've definitely been eating them a lot more lately. And I definitely like your hair short and styled like that in the photo! Ooooo that sounds like a nice relaxing anniversary! So cute with ur handsome lil guy reaching for the green smoothie. Do u just use greens and fruit or add protein as well? I was on a kick but the cold weather slowed me down :-p What time do u put ur son to bed? My daughters going to be 4 mnths and she seems to be ready for bed later and later :-/ I breastfeed on demand and she feeds for about 3 hrs before she will go to bed although she usually makes it through the night.....any tips for bedtime? Or did it just kinda normalize as he got older?

I usually add a scoop of protein powder. Or, depending on what I'm adding, I'll use peanut butter too :) Ohh baby sleep, haha. We put Lucas down around 7pm. Lately he's been boycotting his last nap of the day though, making him ready for bed a little earlier, like between 6:30-6:45. I had been doing a dream feed with him anywhere between 10-11pm, but he's recently started waking up before I can even do it so I think it's time for me to cut that out. He still wakes up to eat most nights anywhere between 2-5am, which I'm sure is out of habit more than hunger, but I've still been feeding him. One thing I've learned...baby sleep is super unpredictable, haha. Just when you think you have it figured out, they switch it up on you! So I just try to remind myself of that often. ;) Good luck!
