1. So get this…I’m semi-certain that I may possibly have pink eye (<—how’s that for not totally sure but assuming?). I woke up yesterday with a red, swollen and semi-itchy eye. And it hasn’t changed much since. I’m planning on calling the doctor first thing today though, since of course I’m totally freaked out because conjunctivitis is a symptom of this whole Zika Virus…
2. I just love getting new photo prints to fill in our frames! As much as I love the look of gallery wraps, I really enjoy being able to just update existing frames. I finally got around to ordering some prints from our fall mini session and am really excited to get some more of these hung on the walls.
And just a heads up, we use mpix for any of our larger prints (and some smaller) and they have always turned out just beautiful. They were recommended to us by a photographer/friend of ours, and I would highly recommend them.
3. I can’t believe I’m about to say this but…is anyone else starting to get sort of, I don’t know…bored with Fixer Upper? I still love the idea of the show and seeing their work, but lately, I feel like it’s more about Chip and Joanna then it is about the houses. And as funny as they can be, the houses and the decorating is my favorite part, and I feel like this season is focusing way more on them than it is on their work.
Don’t get me wrong though…I’m currently typing this up while watching a DVR’d episode. So I’m obviously not that bored with it.
4. Sooo, I may have found a new favorite candy. And I’m not even exaggerating. Last week, we had a few co-workers from our UK office visiting for the week, and they brought a few of their goodies/treats with them (smart folks, for sure). One of the girls brought a big bag of these Cadbury Eclairs and they. are. just. incredible.
I’ve been savoring one a day since, not wanting to eat them all since I assumed I wouldn’t be able to get them again for a long time. But THEN…I found them on Amazon. And my day was maaaade.
5. My belly is so. freakin. itchy this week. Gahhhhh.
6. We got a super special package in the mail this week from the fabulous peeps at Love Grown Foods. Check this out you guys…now they may kids cereals!!
All three flavors are made with the bean blend that their Power O’s are made with, making me feel extra okay with Lucas needing to open them immediately upon seeing them and plowing through the box of Polar Puffs. Not that I can blame him…they were SO good!!
Thanks, for the love, Love Grown Foods. You guys rock!!
7. I have been doing a ton of behind-the-scenes work on the blog lately, in an effort to improve a few different things…including a brand new recipe page! I’m hoping to be able to make it live some time next week, so stay tuned. And you may have noticed a few things have changed in terms of the search archives, etc., and we’re working through that, so thanks for your patience if there have been a few random hiccups here or there.
8. In an effort to wean myself off from the major sugar intake I was rockin’, thanks to birthday cakes and ice cream galore, I’ve traded those in for a new favorite treat these past few nights: a vanilla Greek yogurt with some melted cookie butter and chocolate granola. It is SO good!
9. You guys want to see a perfect example of a master bedroom you will not see on Pinterest? Check out ours.
Paint sample swatches all over the walls, messy floors, a headboard that clearly does not go with the comforter (but we DID just buy THIS NEW ONE, which you can sort of see in the first photo above in this post and I’m in love with it). We’re a work in progress, but I’m excited to see it once we have it all finished up and organized. Some day.
10. Did any of you guys catch this week’s Taboo Mom Talk on Blab with Colleen?? I wasn’t able to watch it live, but I watched the following day, and I totally loved the candid, talk about whatever feel of the conversation. Even more exciting? I’ll be joining Colleen next Tuesday! I have no idea what we’ll be chatting about, but it’s sure to be fun and we’d love to have you! You’ll just need to sign up for an account with Blab, which takes about 2 seconds. Will you guys join us?
Alright my friends, I’m outta here for today. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, whatever you may be doing!! <3

Thank you for the photo printing suggestion. I recently printed over 300 pictures, but I’d like a few larger ones for our family room. And your Greek yogurt dessert sounds delicious!
Colleen @ The Lunchbox Diaries says
I can’t waiiiiit for Tuesday!!

100% agree with you on Fixer Upper. I was thinking that just the other day as I was catching up on the show. I also think they are trying to hard to make it funny. It was funny when it seemed more organic.
Allison says
I totally agree about Fixer Upper, but yet, I still watch it every week because I love them. But yeah, it’s definitely more focused on them. Did you see they are coming out with their own paint line and I am pretty sure something else, maybe a bakery?
Heather @ Life In Leggings says
Oh man, I haven’t updated our photos in forever. It’s something I’m really looking forward to once we get settled into our next home. And is it bad that I eat cereal straight out of the box like Lucas? ;) Have a great weekend!

Love Mpix so much! Our wedding photographer recommended it and the photo quality and price are great! Happy Friday!

Ugh, pick eye is the worst!! So contagious, if that’s it is make sure your washing your hands constantly. It just ripped though my sons school, but luckily we dodged it. MPIX is great I highly recommend them as well.

We live in your area and viral pink eye seems to be what everyone has these days…both adults and kids! In fact, I am taking my daughter to the pediatrician this morning for a red, watery eye.

Just took a screenshot of my own of Lucas on your steps – he’s adorable. Love that carpet! Do you know who makes it and/or the name?

Thought for sure i had pink eye myself over the holidays, but it turned out to be a rogue eyelash stuck in one of my tear ducts! I never knew that could happen, but man, i was so happy to have it taken out.
Last year, i had allergic conjunctivitis which apparently isn’t contagious, you just LOOK like you’re contagious. Let me tell you, lots of fun when you’re dropping your kids off at school and other parents see you with your zombie-eye!

I love getting printed photos done too. I recently decided to start making family photo books through shutterfly and love it! It’s amazing how easy it is to get great prints these days (and cheap)! I have noticed a huge difference in Fixer Upper this season too which totally bums me because nothing needed to change! I loved the older seasons better.
As far as colors go, you should check out Sherwin Williams “Saxon Grey” it’s a really good grey color

My dad is obsessed with Fixer Upper right now. He thinks Chip and Joanna are amazing. He’s watched all the episodes on Netflix and OnDemand, and now he’s DVR-ing them. It’s kind of hilarious. I do like their designs, and would absolutely live in their houses (not to mention, the property costs are so much lower than on shows like “Property Brothers”).
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
Bleh, I hope you don’t have pink eye or the Zika virus! And if you do, I hope it clears quickly. I literally feel like everyone I know right is sick with something.
The itchy belly feeling is the worst! I could not put enough lotion on some days and wearing full panel pants did not help with that!
Shawna says
ugh pink eye sounds so awful — hope you recover quickly. def going to check out that photo site, as i’m always looking for good places to print from as well. have a great wknd!

I am not sure what brand of paint or which colors you are looking at, but my husband and I just painted one of our bathrooms Sparrow by Behr. It is gray and we like it, but it has a tinge of purple/blue to it that we were not expecting. Just throwing that out there in case it interests you, or if that is one of your samples and you were wondering what it would look like in a larger space. Have a great weekend!

Check the sugar in your new night snack. If you’re really trying to cut back, what you’re having sounds like sugar grams close to cake and ice cream!

My parents are from Ireland and anytime we went back there we couldn’t wait for the candy selection. One Christmas we were sent a box of Celebrations and those eclair a were in there… I love them!!! I began to salivate when I saw the picture…. Deelish!!
shelly says
I hope they sell that candy in the US. I must try them!

Love this pics!
Pink eye is terrible and being pregnant makes it all so stressful! I had a rash in my second trimester ( I think it was due to lotion) but now they are testing me for a virus. Apparently, I’ve never been exposed to one they tested for so now they want to run more tests! It’s a lot!
Katy Widrick says
Oh my goodness — pink eye is the worst! Audrey gets it at least twice a year. Her pediatrician doesn’t even make us come in anymore…just calls in the drops.
I hope you’re feeling better soon!
Courtney says
Thanks Katy! It’s definitely no fun…but could be worse :)
