1. I’m convinced spring is never coming.
Sheesh, has this been the longest winter EVER, or is it just me?!
2. And while, yeah sure, it’s pretty and all. We’ve got so much right now that it’s to the point where it’s almost too high for the boys to be able to go out and play in.
On top of that, the weather forecast is currently predicting MORE snow next week. Like, 5-8 more inches.
3. At this rate, I think we’ll be hiding Easter eggs in snow piles : )
4. Earlier this week, I had to run to the mall to return a pair of boots that got completely ruined (actually, it was the Joie Ajax Booties I was SUPER obsessed with!) and I was incredibly thankful that they were willing to give me store credit for the return. So I probably spent a good half hour walking around the store, and at one point or another, almost bought each of these pairs but wound up leaving empty handed because I just couldn’t decide what I really neeeeded.
(Pictured L-R): KEDS VOLLIE II SNEAKER // CROWN VINTAGE MARION LOAFER // CALVIN KLEIN LAVIDA LOAFER // KELLY & KATIE PIRASSA BALLET FLAT
So tell me…which one(s) would YOU pick?! I have a merchandise credit to use and I want them allll.
5. Earlier this week, I also had to get an upper endoscopy done…blech. I didn’t realize that the last time I had one was over 10 years ago, and for someone with chronic heartburn and reflux (me), I guess they typically recommend getting one every 5 years. Whoops.
The whole procedure was fine and really not a big deal, but man, coming out of anesthesia is SO weird. I have these vague, blurry memories of waking up in the hospital, but then all I really remember is somehow waking up on my couch at home with a blueberry muffin from Dunkin Donuts. Kinda creepy!
6. Side note, I think I’ve had some sort of donut or munchkin from Dunkin Donuts at least 4 out of the last 7 days. #notsorry
7. So I got an ANC manicure for the first time, and I must say, I do sorta love it.
Previously, I’ve usually just gotten the gel, but the ANC is pretty cool and I think I’m a fan! (For anyone curious, I got #203).
8. Can someone please tell me how these kiddos of ours seriously seem to grow up OVERNIGHT?!
9. Okay, my favorite readers…give me your ideas. Jay and I are looking to try and bring the boys on a few day or weekend trips this spring and summer. Even if it’s within a few hours away from us (Albany-ish, NY), tell us your favorite, kid-friendly day trip locations!
Alright my friends, I’m off for today! I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, whatever you may be doing <3
I love the KEDS! But I also don’t work in an office setting so never have use for other shoes!
We went to cape Ann a few years ago it’s the south shore of mass the good friends beach is perfect for kids
I think I’ve read in previous posts that you have been to Wildwood NJ.. well a better beach just about 20 mins from there is Ocean City, NJ! It’s VERY family friendly, boardwalk with rides for little ones (mine are 4 &5) and super clean.
Can you use the credit to get the booties online?
No pressure, but if you ever decided to do a post about your issues with refux, I would be super interested in hearing about your experience. I actually have an endoscopy scheduled next week (I get food stuck, have difficulty swallowing, etc.) and I don’t have any friends who deal with all that so I’m in the dark😉
I second Kelly’s request…I too have upper GI issues and can’t seem to figure it out. Sometimes the flare ups are debilitating.
Would love to hear how others cope!
Cape Cod!!! We live here and it’s a great long weekend trip!!
Burlington, VT is beautiful and the boys may love taking the ferry across Lake champlain.
What’s an ANC manicure? I’ve had gel but don’t like to do it because you have to go back to have it taken off and that takes too long. Can you share what you know about it?
It’s probably not a day trip, but Thomasland in Massachusetts is great
I know, I’m so over the winter. March never lets us off easy. Love the keds, and that mani!
The Keds!
Have you ever taken the boys to the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown? Love that place.
I feel the same way about the snow. We got a big dump of it yesterday and we’ll be getting more tomorrow. I’m so ready for spring. This winter has felt like it’s been going on forever.
I highly recommend the Wild Center in Tupper Lake. It is a great, kid-friendly museum. Lots of hand-on exhibits, a great nature trail and playground and the best part- the Wild Walk ( a suspended, interactive trail with a birds-eye view). My family has a camp in the area. We have a membership and visit multiple times each year. Tupper Lake is not far from Lake Placid, so you could get some Olympic fun in too!
Your kids may be a bit too young for their activities (you’ll have to poke around their website) but Berkshire East in Charlemont, MA has a lot of fun summer activities for kids!
I just recently purchased a pair of muk luks at my local vintage yard sale and i am loving them! They’ve got distressed holes and rips and smell like boiled cabbage as if they were from 1970! My man loves them too he said i look like a “yeti” which is German for fashionista! He don’t even speak the language! #shoelala
2 great day trips you can combine into one: Yankee Candle Factory in Deerfield, MA and the Butterfly Conservatory a few miles down the road from there. You could easily spend a whole day at the YC factory, lots for kids there. They can dip their own candles and make molds of their hands. Also a Christmas room where it snows year round, Santa, and lots of shopping. Even a bargain room! And their Restaurant (Chandlers) is great. The butterfly Conservatory is a lot of fun and is only a few miles down the road from what I recall. here is their link: http://www.magicwings.com/
I took my kids when they were 7 & 8 and they loved it. Fun day trip.
Endoscopies are so unpleasant! I finally found that eliminating wheat and corn from my diet got rid of my upper GI issues. Just some food for thought, as it took me ages to realize this. (I’m not anti-carb at all and I still eat tons of sweet potatoes, quinoa, rice, etc. Just can’t have those two things!)
Endoscopies are so unpleasant! I finally found that eliminating
Honestly thank you so much for your page. I’ve perused all kinds of topics on your channel, and I always thoroughly enjoy all of your content.
