1. Our little Cody is quite the kitty. Despite the fact that he almost constantly has two little boys chasing after him whenever he’s in their presence, he continues to come back for more and is always SO good with all of their poking and petting.
They sure do love each other!
2. This week seemed to go by pretty quick, while simultaneously dragging. Isn’t that so strange when that happens?
3. One adventure this week involved a trip to the dentist for the boys.
Lucas did outstanding, and really impressed me with how cooperative he was (since his last trip was quite the opposite, despite his first visit being stellar).
Alex did just about as I expected (even though it wasn’t his first trip either!), and ended up crying so hard that he now has popped capillaries on his face from crying…
This poor kid! He did have some plaque on his bottom teeth (despite our best brushing efforts!) that I really wanted them to try and get off; the good news is that they got most of it. The bad news is that Alex was pissed about it. : )
4. I want to take a quick moment to say THANK YOU to all of those who have generously purchased a box of cards from my Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fundraiser (in case you missed it, check out THIS POST for more details). My original goal was to sell 25 boxes, and now that I’ve reached that, I’m really hoping to get to 30!!
We all use cards from time to time, right? So if you feel so inclined, please feel free to purchase a box for yourself while helping a wonderful cause at the same time. You can PURCHASE HERE! <3 Thank you!
5. I can always tell when Alex winds up getting his hands (since he has about 800 of them these days) on my phone…
I end up with all sorts of fun pictures of his legs and feet.
6. Alright, so despite my claims that I never drink coconut-flavored coffee (because, umm, it tastes like suntan lotion) I DID go ahead and try one of the new Coconut Caramel iced coffees from Dunkin this week.
The first couple of sips left me thinking maybe I had this all wrong, since it did taste sort of good! But then after about drinking about a quarter of it, I stand by my original claim. Coconut flavored coffee is NOT for me. C’monnnnn Dunkin, bring back that cookie dough!!!
7. So even though the coconut iced coffee wasn’t a hit, I have found another drink that was surprisingly delightful…
Last year, I found myself really into the Angry Orchard Easy Apple Cider, but after recently coming across this Rosé flavor at Hannaford, I’m thinking it may be my new favorite cider of theirs.
8. Ugh, you guys. The other day, this song came on in the car, which always immediately makes me think of our wedding video.
I don’t know what it was, but I got so super emotional while driving in to work while listening to it! I think sometimes (okay, most times) it’s SO easy for me to get caught up in trying to be the best mom I can be, and there are some days where I really just miss the fun and spontaneity of being a newly married couple with so few responsibilities.
I don’t feel at all guilty for saying that, because being a mom is wonderful and amazing, and everything I’ve always wanted, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t occasionally miss former parts of my life, when Jay and I could do what we wanted, when we wanted. I’m sure many of you know what I mean!
So just in case any of you have also been feeling at all overwhelmed in motherhood lately, or missing that one on one time with your spouse, or the ability to put yourself first, just know you are NOT alone, my friends.
9. So I totally want each and every one of the signs shown in THIS PICTURE for the boys’ bathroom. I mean, how adorable (and inappropriately appropriate!) are they?! For a brief moment, I thought maybe I’d try to get crafty and make them myself, buuuut then I get realistic. I think I may just need to buy them ALL.
Alright my friends, I’m off for today! I hope you have a fabulous (Good) Friday and a wonderful Easter weekend ahead! <3

I love your honesty, thank you! I have been feeling really overwhelmed lately and feeling kind of out of touch with my SO, this mom job is no joke! Who knew how rewarding it would be while at the same time so stressful but also so worth it, it’s crazy how all that works lol. Maybe one day balancing it all will become easier?!
Hope you and your family have a great Easter!!

#8 – YESSSSS! I only have one kid right now (18 months) and thankful to have family close by but still I’d love to just hit happy hour after work or do something with my husband and not have to coordinate it around naptime, early dinner time, early bedtime, or feeling guilty I’m inviting grandparents over to sit there while he is napping or sleeping. Spontaneity sure goes out the window as a parent! Have a great weekend :)

I hate the dentist too! My gold toof needed a scrubbing and it hurt like heck! The dentist gave me some laughin gas though so it wasn’t all too bad! Happy Esther Courntry! Xoxo

Amen on the missing the alone time without kids. I was recently thinking about that when trying to plan a vacation that would accommodate a 1 year old. I remember the weekends when we’d decide just to go and not have to worry about naps or crying in restaurants. Granted, I wouldn’t trade my little one for anything, but I do reminisce about our non-kid days as well.

Do you have any tooth brushing tips for kids? Our 2 year old puts up such a fight that I’m not sure we’re making any impact with the limited brushing he allows.

Unfortunately, our Alex sounds very similar to your 2 year old!! We do like to use the Disney Magic Timer app for Lucas – he’s been using it for well over a year and it helped a ton! Hoping that Alex will catch on soon, haha.
