1. We’re in another winter wonderland over here this week!
While it is pretty and all, I can’t say I’m upset that the forecasted 10-18 inches of snow only brought us about 6-8. Now hopefully it’ll melt niiiice and quick. : )
2. I realized that I never wound up doing a little recap of our weekend this week, so I’ll share a couple of quick highlights, including a trip out to the Children’s Museum of Science and Technology!
We were invited to a neighbor’s birthday party, and Lucas had a blast playing with his buddy, running around the museum, and even getting to pet a bearded dragon (no thank you!).
Alex had his own fun exploring some different areas of the museum, too, and overall, it was such a nice trip out!
3. I guess I figured out why I didn’t really recap last weekend…#2 above there is pretty much all I’ve got!
4. Hmmm, interesting to see whose name is at the top of the list here.
5. Some of you may have already caught on to the fact that Lucas is obsessed with Monster Jam. Like, the number of little monster jam trucks we have is crazy, and he races with them EVERY day. Well, there is a truck he wants so badly and we just cannot find…
SO, if by some crazy chance, there are any of you out there who happen to know how to find the Lucas Oil Crusader 1:64 monster jam truck (aka, one that’s NOT for sale on Amazon for $90…), please, PLEASE let me know! I’d love for it to wind up in his Easter basket this year <3
*Edited to add: I found one!!! Thank you!
6. Have you guys heard the awesome news from Pampers? They’ve recently launched the brand new Pampers Pure Collection, a diaper and wipe collection that offers parents plant-based and other thoughtfully selected materials and stylish prints, too.
The Pampers Pure diapers are made without chlorine bleaching, fragrance, parabens, latex (natural
rubber) or the 26 allergens identified by the European Union. So awesome – definitely be on the lookout for them in stores!
7. You guys…I am reeeeally digging learning more and more about essential oils. This past week, I’ve created rollerballs for me and the boys, and three different DIY cleaners.
Seriously, I don’t even know who I am anymore?! But I am definitely planning on sharing all about what I’m making and what I’m using, so stay tuned for some more info on that next week!
8. FYI, for those of you with kiddos who enjoy going bowling!! Definitely be sure to sign up for the Kids Bowl Free program (affiliate link. Once you find a bowling alley near you, you can sign them up and each kiddo gets 2 free games of bowling EVERY day between May 6th – September 30th!
There is also a family pass option where parents, grandparents, etc., can join in and get the same 2 free game offer every day. My dad signed Lucas up last year and it was awesome; he’d go at least once a week most weeks!
9. So I’m in need of a new protein powder. I’ve heard some good things about this Orgain brand (and I love that I could easily get it at Target) but I always second and triple guess myself before making these types of purchases…because if you don’t like it, you’re still stuck with a whole tub! Anyone tried that brand? Or any other brands you truly love and recommend? Feel free to share!
Alright my friends, I’m off for today. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, whatever you may be doing <3

The snow looks so pretty but I’m sure it’s a pain! I got to pet a bearded dragon once, i call her my mother in law! Happy frieday!
Anne Perez says
I say try a trip to Vitamin Shoppe. They have a decent amount of their protein powders in individual packets so you can try, and I was shocked at how good their natural/organic selection is. Good luck! (And I think Whole Foods sells single serve packets too actually.)
Nina says
Love any Vega or Vega One product! I’ve only tried the chocolate and vanilla, but both are great!
Melissa says
We ended up getting a ton of snow here in the suburbs of Philadelphia and had a power outage of 24 hours; it was awful. The snow looks nice, but when it falls as quickly as it did here, it wreaks havoc on the area. On a positive note though, I really love the idea of making your own cleaners with the essential oils, I think it sounds like a great option and one I’m definitely going to consider! Thank you for sharing.

I just bought Orgain powder at Costco (it was on sale) and I really love it! I got the vanilla bean flavor and I am pleasantly surprised with the taste. It’s great in my morning smoothie :)
Julissa says
I copied and pasted the name of the monster truck into Ebay and the first option is less than $15 (including shipping) – not sure if it’s the exact one, but worth to check out! Good luck!
Kaitlin K says
I’ve been using Orgain for a few years now and love it!
Allison says
Orgain! 100%! It is the only protein powder I have found that I can truly say keeps me full for hours AND I love the taste. The chocolate fudge flavor is my favorite. :) And if you have a Costco membership, it’s usually cheaper there than anywhere else!
Mollie says
I started buying this one at Target: https://www.target.com/p/integrated-supplements-whey-isolate-protein-powder-chocolate-1-85lb/-/A-26404112 mostly because I’m pregnant and this brand specifically says it’s healthy for pregnant women, but it’s really good! And I actually used to get the Target brand – don’t think it’s organic, but I liked that too. I agree that I wish they sold smaller sizes, because I’d like to rotate flavors but don’t want to buy multiple big tubs of protein powder either!
Michelle says
Good morning Courtney,
I really love this protein poweder and seems to be much cheaper than Orgain. They also sell individual packets at the Honest Weight Co-op if you wanted to try it before you buy it. The big containers of it are more expensive than Amazon so you’d want to order it and not buy it there.

Lucas Oil Crusader. It’s used on ebay, but i doubt your little guy will care!
Andrea says
I use ath plant protein powder. I wonder how the new pampers differ from the conventional ones?
Lily says
I’m excited to hear more about your use of essential oils! I got really into them, but then stopped since I read that some of them weren’t cat friendly – which made me so sad! I’d love to hear how you are using them with a kitty in the house and if this effects your use any! :)
Alyssa says
I was just going to write the same thing. I wanted to get into using them as well but have read that no matter the brand, they are extremely toxic to cat. But if you use them or hear different I’d also be interested in hearing how goes. It seems you can’t seem to win either way you want to go with cleaners. I hope you find the monster truck for Lucas. I just googled to see if I could find it here in Canada for you but no luck !
Mandee says
the orgain chocolate is by far the worst protein powder I’ve ever had. Chalky and tastes like grass. Like, there’s no chocolate to it. I’ve tried it with hemp, almond, cow’s milk – nope. I’ve tried it with ice, without – nope. I’ve tried it with extra chocolate syrup added in out of desperation – nope. It is horrible. i much prefer Jay Robb powders. You can order a sampler pack to see what flavor you like. Vanilla and tropical dreamsicle are my favorites.
Courtney says
Yikes, good to know! Thanks for the heads up, Mandee!
Mandee says
Haha sorry, I didn’t meant to be negative, but I definitely wanted to warn you. I was duped by all the good reviews on walmart.com (where i got it). Then I took a closer look and saw a couple low star reviews that sounded exactly like what I thought of it!
Michelle S says
I love Orgain and it’s been my go to for a few years now. I tried Vega and it upset my stomach; I only get chocolate flavor protein powders and have enjoyed Orgain, it’s price and accessibility at a couple of different places. I also think, as you know, protein powders are definitely person-specific. Finding new ones are always tricky!
Amy says
Tone it Up protein is really good, and you can get it at Target too! I HATE the taste of stevia or artificial sweeteners, which I find a lot of powders use, but this one does not.
Lauren C says
I love the SFH (Stronger Faster Healthier) brand for protein, it tastes amazing and dissolves really well in liquid! I prefer the 10 single packs in chocolate and vanilla so I can mix it up and not commit to a huge container. I like to blend up chocolate with ice and almond milk or regular milk and it tastes like a frosty from Wendy’s. I get it at Whole Foods or online.
Katrina says
I love that Lucas is afraid of Santa but not a bearded dragon! Too cute!
Courtney says
LOL, right?! And he is SO excited about Easter and the Easter bunny coming to bring eggs, too – go figure?! :)
Katrina says
Then there’s hope for this Christmas!! :)
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Girl I can’t imagine all that SNOW!! And I have always wanted to learn a bit more about essential oils as well, they are so interesting to me!
Melissa says
SFH makes really good protein in a lot of different flavors. Very clean ingredients and tastes good. My favorite the coconut fuel is great with iced coffee and also stirred into plain greek yogurt. The Churro is great in iced coffee and oatmeal as well. I have currently been using the candy cane in with my iced coffee, so good!

My mom uses that brand of protein powder and she says she enjoyed it for awhile but grew tired of it recently. I swear by Garden of Life Protein + Greens in vanilla. It’s vegan, super easy to digest and delicious. I LOVE it in my smoothies. Love. And I’ve been using it for years. They also have chocolate and chai, but the vanilla takes the cake for me! It can be purchased on Amazon and be on your front step in 2 days. :) – Kaitlyn | http://www.poweredbysass.com

I love the orgain powders – vanilla bean and peanut butter are SO good. I have tried a lot – my husband and little boys like it too. I buy on Amazon with subscribe and save, good deals.
Paige says
Hi Courtney! Happy weekend! Just wanted to chime in and say to please be careful about using oils because of your kitty Cody. Many essential oils are toxic to cats and I know two kitties who have passed away as a result :(. I’ve read that Rosemary, Frankincense, Orange, Lemon, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus and Lavendar are all toxic for cats.
Brianne says
My husband and I love sunwarrior protein powder. We are shakeology lovers and have found this tastes the same and muccchhhh cheaper :) we get the chocolate flavor. We find it at the vitamin shoppe! We have also used Vega One and liked that as well.
Kate @ Kate Lives Healthy says
I’m not a big protein powder person but have recently tried mixing it in oatmeal. I tried the Natural Citizen brand and loved it. It is completely natural and has no fillers or chemicals in it. https://www.thenaturalcitizen.com

I love Tera’s Whey protein powder- it’s delicious! I just order it on amazon.

I use Equip Prime Protein in chocolate and use it every day for my breakfast smoothie. It tastes much better than the whey protein powders I use during my workouts. 2lb lasts me a little over a month (~1 scoop per day). A little pricey but worth it.

Available on Amazon Prime too.

I would do some research. Do you want whey (fast digesting) or casein (slow digesting)? Is this for working out/recovery or breakfast smoothies? The folks at GNC are always helpful when I have questions.
Megan Kelly says
I found a protein powder I love! It’s made by 1st Phorm. I use both the meal replacement (level 1) and the isolate which is (phormula 1) after my workouts. Feel free to contact me with any questions about either of them!
Erin says
You should try Devotion Nutrition protein powder!! It’s the best!!! I think you can only get it online but it’s totally worth it!!
