Fun Facts Friday {3/20}

By Courtney 34 Comments

1. With all of the last minute meals and lack of food we’ve had this week, I made sure to have all of my meal planning done for upcoming week (and had it done by Thursday!). I’m ready to get some more fresh veggies back in the house and have some good dinners on the menu (which, they certainly look like it right now!).

2. I really want to try to give myself a manicure this weekend. It’s been on my to-do list once again (aka, it always winds up back on my to-do list once the previous one wears off). I’m thinking that since we’re (finally!) nearing the end of winter, it’s time to put away the darker colors and maybe go with more of a nude/sheer look like this one or this one. What nail colors have you guys been diggin’ lately?

3. Calling all pregnant ladies (or friends of pregnant ladies)! Have you guys heard about the amazing “Bump & Bundle” giveaway that Stitch Fix is doing? From now until March 29th, they’re running the giveaway that includes $5000 in stylish gifts for mom and baby (it’s an insane prize). To enter, just visit Stitch Fix’s Facebook page and nominate yourself (or an expecting friend!), and share the news about Stitch Fix maternity on your Facebook wall. Then, get your friends to vote for you! FIY: I’m not getting paid to post this – it’s just a really great giveaway that I wanted to share.

4. Speaking of…I got a new Stitch Fix in the mail yesterday! I’ll be sure to share it with you guys soon and see what turns out to be keepers or not.

5. If you guys want to see something incredibly awesome, you need to watch this clip from Britain’s Got Talent. My mother-in-law sent it to me recently and it was incredible to see what that group could do.

6. I would really, really love it if someone would make this Nutella Chocolate Cake for me and deliver it to my front door. Any takers??

Nutella Chocolate Cake! - Layers of dark chocolate cake and Nutella buttercream topped with chocolate ganache! SO good!

7. I’m kinda, sorta, totally loving the look of this bag for spring. I know I really don’t neeeeed a new bag, but that color is just gorgeous. And while I was eyeballing that bag, I also found this adorable make-up bag that I really feel like I need in my life. Not to mention the fact that my current one is an absolute mess.

8. Here are a couple of great quotes that have come across my desk calendar at work recently…

happiness quote

love yourself quote

I think this one is one of my favorites…

don't compare quote

How true is that?

9. I keep forgetting to mention that I finished reading Emily Giffin’s last book, The One & Only, a couple of weeks ago. I tried starting it probably 6 months ago(?) and I just couldn’t get into it, but I decided to give it a go about a month ago and I was much more into it this time. I still wouldn’t say it was her best novel (and I’d say you need to have some appreciation for sports/football), but overall it was a really good book. Now I need a new one…I think I’ll have to pull from the list of recommendations you all gave me the last time I asked.

10. I’m really hoping I can convince Jay to go out for breakfast some day this weekend. I found a new place semi-nearby and it looks like they have some pretty amazing pancakes that I’ve decided I must have in my life. Because any day with pancakes = awesome.

Okay friends, I’m out for today. Hope you guys all have a fabulous weekend ahead! Doing anything awesome??

I'm loving your meal plans so I'm hoping we'll still see one on sunday :D After all, not meal planning and winging it is part of life and it's healthy too :) I'd say my weeks are semi-organised when it comes to dinners: usually mon-wed I have good dinners, thursday is the day where I often end up eating out for lunch so dinner can be something a bit lighter or just a succession of snacks and friday is up in the air ha!

Everyone's saying that they didn't like The One and Only! I couldn't put it down. I read it on vacation and basically spent on the days in the sun reading for like 6 hours lol! It's probably the sports aspect. I'm into college basketball so I was interested in that part of it. I found it especially ironic they were going through an NCAA investigation >cough coughcough<

I just started selling Jamberry last month, and along with some massive selling I did last month, I got tons of free wraps from my launch party, and as gifts from the company. I have so many to try, but since Easter is two weeks away, I'm planning to wear this style called "Get Hoppy," which is a combination of a blue basket weave pattern, a carrot, and a bunny. Truthfully, I got it for the carrots. I thought they were too cute not to get. :-) But definitely now that it's officially Spring today, I'm going more toward bright colors to match what the weather should be like. Hopefully we actually get the nice temps the weathermen have promised us!

If you're ever looking for a really great breakfast place, check out the Iron Roost in Ballston Spa. I think it's probably way out of the way for you, but they have THE BEST waffles and its a great place to take kids. By the way, LOVE that bag from Topshop and I just pinned it :)

Those pancakes look amazing. I may have to encourage my husband to go out for breakfast this weekend too, or maybe we'll make a batch at home. As for weekend plans, the only thing I want to do today is go to Rita's Ice! Not sure if you've ever been, but today is their free ice day, so I'm excited to get some mango or pineapple ice in a cup. Yum. Have a great weekend!

Mmmm...they have Rita's when we go down to Jets games and it is SO good. I love the ones mixed with some vanilla soft serve (or is it custard?). Either way, they're amazing! But sadly, nowhere up here :( Have one for me!

Hi Courtney! I just received my Fix yesterday and haven't tried it on yet, so hoping for good things. As far as pancakes, I haven't had any in far too long. My husband and I hardly EVER go out to breakfast, but I'd like us to take a moment to do that one weekend soon. Have a fabulous day! :)

Ooooh, totally going to enter that Stitch Fix giveaway! I'm really intrigued by their new maternity line. I may just have to jump on board for a few months to acquire some cute maternity clothes for summer. Love that new bag! I actually just got a blush cross body bag with a gift card I got for my birthday, and I'm really liking it for spring. It goes with everything!! That Nutella cake!!!!! Oh man.
