1. Cody is hooooome!
He got the okay to come home yesterday, and while he is looking a little pathetic with his cone and random shaved patches all over his body, we’re just so thrilled to have him back. He’s currently laying next to me in the office as I sit and type up this post, purring away (which is a far cry from the growls I was last hearing from him when he was home) and looking quite relaxed. Even Lucas was excited for Cody to “come home from doctor,” although trying to remind him to relax/be nice to Cody is a little bit of a challenge.
2. Okay, I’m really curious about Snapchat. I feel like at first, there were a bunch of people loving it, but quite a few were just not interested. Now I swear, every time I turn around, there’s someone else who has joined and raving about how much they love it. So…is it as awesome as everyone says? Isn’t it basically just Instagram …without pictures lasting forever? Obviously, I know nothing. So can you guys fill me in?! Do I need to get on board the Snapchat train?? If so, what would you want to see??
3. Would you want to see pictures of something like this epic egg sandwich I made for breakfast the other morning? Because really, it was as exciting as it looks and sounds. I promise.
4. Ohh, Amazon Prime. You are equally dangerous and amazing. So far this week, I have ordered these socks to try and help with the vein situation going on in my legs, this cute lunch box for Lucas (in blue) in an attempt to help get him to actually eat his lunch during the week(…), and this ceiling fan for the nursery. The next thing I’m considering is their Subscribe & Save program. Does anyone else use it and/or like it??
5. I’ve recently had like, at least 3 recipes I’ve wanted to make but they’ve called for pure maple syrup, which I haven’t had (we buy the cheap stuff) ;) So yesterday I purchased a bottle off of iHerb (they had a TON!), so I’m excited to finally have some in the house and do a little baking with it. Anyone have any favorite recipes using pure maple syrup? Feel free to share!
6. For my fellow toddler mamas out there…I cannot begin to tell you all how much we have been LOVING the Disney Magic Timer app for teeth brushing. Lucas has never loved brushing his teeth (are there any toddlers that DO?), but this app has been a total game changer.
I forget where I saw it mentioned initially, but I immediately downloaded it and we’ve been using it ever since…and now we can brush 2x a day without a fight. Halleluiah!
7. Cara Cara oranges are back in season – WOO HOO! They’re one of my faaaavorites.
8. I’ve become somewhat obsessed with this watermelon drink. I find it somewhat amusing because when I was pregnant with Lucas, I couldn’t get enough watermelon sherbet (do you guys remember that?!), and now I can’t get enough of this watermelon drink. Apparently it’s a preggo thing for me.
9. I was texting with my mom the other night asking her what I needed to do with my hair in order to get it to look like Candice Cameron Bure’s hair in this picture below because I’m in LOVE.
She told me I’d need some long side swept bangs aaaaaaaand I just don’t know if I want to go down that route. Bangs are great when the look great, but when they don’t…well, they don’t.
10. I am ready for the weekend! After the craziness of this week, I’m ready to have a couple of days at home to just relax. Not that weekends are usually ever that relaxing for us, but at least I won’t have to get up and shower to get to work right away, ya know?!
I’m off for today, my friends. So I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, whatever you may be doing! <3

Yay Cody!!
Oh and snapchat is amazing… You just take pictures of anything going on at any given time (totally random!) and there’s no “pressure” like there is on other social media platforms. Definitely give it a whirl :).
Trisha says
So glad Cody is home, and yes to Snapchat! I love seeing random snippets of my friend’s days, no matter where there are in the world. I also love sending Snaps of the randomness of my days, or cute pics/videos of what the boys are doing, but don’t necessarily want to post on Instagram or Facebook. My parents both have it too, so they can see what their grandbabies are up to throughout the day!

I use Subscribe and Save for pet food/treats, peanutbutter, protein power, and other household staples. Once you figure out your delivery frequency, you never run out of something-it’s the best!
Brynn says
Such great news that Cody is home! And seriously, Lucas is getting so big!

So Snapchat. I resisted it for SO LONG. I honestly didn’t want yet ANOTHER form of social media to keep up with but after some of my best friends from college convinced me, I signed up and freaking LOVE it. It’s easily my favorite form of social media and almost reminds me of what Instagram was before it became so darn curated. It feels more genuine and real than other forms of social media because you can only share things in the exact moment they’re happening and there aren’t a million different ways to alter/edit images and videos. It’s SO fun and I would love to follow you, friend!! <3 Another bonus is that people don't HAVE to see your snaps even if they follow you whereas Instagram puts your pics in their feed. So if people have had enough baby pics or pics of my dog for the day (pretty much all I post haha), they can just not click my name. Oh! And there's no "liking" images or videos and your follower number is unknown so it takes away all that comparison garbage. Sorry for the novel about Snapchat! Feelin' the coffee early this morning! ;)

Oh and I feel the need to say I did NOT find Snapchat user friendly AT ALL and it took me a solid week to get the hang of it!

I’m totally with you on Candance Cameron Bure’s hair. Gorgeous!! I also just need her stylist to do my hair for me every single day.

We used the subscribe and save thing on Amazon for diapers, wipes and the diaper genie rings. It was so nice to not have to worry about if we had enough on hand.
Emily G says
Love love love subscribe and save! I live about 30 mins plus from a grocery store so I use it for so many household supplies – cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, wipes, aquaphor, and so much more – 15% off when you order at least 5 things I think it is…and 20% off diapers/wipes/amazon mom stuff – couldn’t imagine life without it :) Okay maybe I could but I don’t want to!
Julie says
I still don’t get snapchat and I don’t think any of my friends are on it (if they are they have NOT informed me) so as of now it does not interest me. Amazon Prime- I am an addict!!! I buy everything and anything and rarely go to real stores now. I use subscribe and save mainly for baby stuff- diapers and wipes. I had a few other things like paper towels/ toilet paper/etc. but couldn’t quite understand when to set my subscriptions and kept over ordering things so now I just order on demand. But definitely diapers and wipes for subscribe and save!
Jenny says
Diapers on subscribe and save are 20% off if you join Amazon Family (free for Prime). It’s great to not have to think about going out to get diapers, and I’ve found it to be one of the cheapest options
Fiona says
Oh man I hear you on snapchat, I was sooo anti snapchat because I didn’t understand it! Like isn’t that just instagram, but then we visited family out west and they all had it and posted the cutest pictures of their little son and it’s soo fun to see a quick ‘snap’ of the day in someone’s life. I am now officially obsessed ..I love sending my In-laws snaps of my son doing hysterical things or sweet messages ..really anything…plus following celebrities is pretty cool to see actual footage of stuff (read Chrissy Tiegen’s baby shower)….soo glad Cody is home and feeling better. Our dog has had two knee surgeries (he’s only 5! ) in the past two years and man it’s soo tough to see them not feeling themselves! Here’s to a speedy recovery!
suzanne says
I do not completely get snapchat – though I am not even on instagram either….my kids wanted snapchat recently so one of them got it – I am beginning to understand but important to note that pics are not necessarily ever completely gone….they can always be tracked (good for mom of teens ;)
We LOVE maple syrup and I use it in so many things…many cookies, baked goods, dressings, marinades, smoothies….we go through it like crazy – tough since it is so expensive!
Enjoy your weekend with your family (Cody included of course!)

I absolutely love Amazon Prime. I take full advantage of the service. Although sometimes I am a little shocked when the credit card bill arrives! Not sure about the saver program but will have to check it out. So glad the kitty is home!
Marina @ Snackie Bird says
Snapchat is a big deal for me! I don`t have lots of friends there, but I am still using it. Literally, I am obsessed. Snapchat is so REAL. A few filters, some hilarious masks and this is it. Perfect for “behind the scene” shooting.
Linz @ Itz Linz says
glad cody is home :) i’m not on board with the snapchat thing – instagram is enough for me haha
Ashley says
I’m expecting my first baby and everyone I know who has had kids has told me to start buying diapers and wipes now, so I signed up for Amazon Family and their subscribe and save for diapers, wipes and household items. I’ll have a surplus of diapers and wipes before the baby arrives and they are definitely the cheapest I have found, even in comparison to BJ’s. Since you are already a Prime member I’d look in to it.
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
It’s good to hear that Cody is doing better. It’s always so hard when pets get sick.
Emily says
Love subscribe & save! I use it for all the baby deliveries – diapers, wipes, soaps, diaper genie refills, you name it. I get a reminder when it’s going to be shipped every month and then it just shows up on my doorstep like clockwork. Love!
Nicole says
You’re one of my favorite bloggers and I would love to see you on Snapchat! I like it a lot better than Instagram. It’s way more relaxed!
Ashley says
Amazon subscribe and save is amazing. We order diapers, wipes and other baby items from there. Def the cheapest option at 20% off and being delivered to your doorstep on a schedule. You can edit your delivery too pretty easily so when little ones need different sizes it’s a breeze. Then there are a ton of products that if you order 5 or more you get another 15% off. Also you can add coupons to certain diapers. I totally recommend it!
