Fun Facts Friday {6/1}

By Courtney 21 Comments

1. We’ve been doing all sorts of this these days…

And I love it. Especially when we get these oh-so-brief moments where the boys are actually playing together…and playing NICELY at that. It’s an anomaly.

2. Last weekend, I made a batch of these fabulous cookies, but in place of the peanut butter chips/cups, I did 3/4 cup Heath bits (+ 3/4 cup chocolate chips) and OMG I honestly think they were the best cookies I’ve ever made (I seriously do have a thing for Heath bits in my baking…). And I don’t even have pics to show for it! So you’ll just have to trust me. I actually used the convection bake setting on our oven and I’m thinking that may have also made a bit of a difference, but sheeeesh, I want. all. the. cookies.

3. I often wonder just how long these kiddos of mine are going to be blondies…

I know my brother was super blond growing up, but he’s obviously not now. And Jay was also a total blondie when he was a kid (not counting those years in high school with the bleached tips!), so I’m so curious to see how it’s going to pan out with these guys. It’s hard to imagine them any different!

4. Okay, I’m curious…for those of you who also enjoy an alcoholic beverage (or two), what’s your drink of choice this spring/summer?? I’ve really been into the White Claw Hard Seltzers, along with the occasional glass of wine. But if there’s something new or fun that I need to be drinking, then help a girl out!

5. Getting an evening out with some girlfriends, a glass of wine, a sun-filled patio, and this delicious salad?

Doesn’t get much better than that.

6. I came across this hilarious video yesterday on “BOY MOMS vs GIRL MOMS” and hoooooly cow, did I get a good laugh. “It’s too quiet…” “STOP RUNNING!” “Body shots only!” SO TRUE.

7. Want something delicious to make for dinner this weekend? MAKE THESE. Can’t get enough!! I think we’re also going to be making these tacos soon, too. We are totally loving pineapple these days.

8. Happy JUNE!!!

I’m cutting today’s fun facts short because, well, that’s all I’ve got! This week had me all out of whack with the holiday, so I hardly even remembered it was Friday :) Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend, whatever you may be doing <3

Spring/summertime boozy beverages are my FAV. I've actually been enjoying rose lately, but a dry rose. Not a fan of super sweet beverages. I've also been liking Moscow mules! - Kaitlyn | www.poweredbysass.com

My fav topic is alcoholic beverages since I too have young kids LOL. Also a fan of the hard seltzers.. just tried the Smirnoff ones (watermelon and berry lemonade) and enjoyed! Also chilled dry rose and Pinot Noir rose. Occasionally I’ll have a beer- summer shandy or the sam Adams seasonal.

Spiked Seltzer beats White Claw in my opinion. The alcohol content is a bit higher but it tastes better. The Grapefruit or Valencia Orange are my favorites. They have a mermaid as their logo and would be where the White Claw is. My other summer drink is rose wine with Cran-Raspberry La Croix for a less sugary spritzer :-)

LOVE the idea of mixing the rose with La Croix - genius!!! I'll have to give that one a try, thanks!

Do you like shandies? I just bought a Leinenkugel sampler with lemon, orange, grapefruit and watermelon shandies. They’re my favorite summer beer!

That was a cute funny video. I am a boy mom and a girl mom so I relate to both and since becoming a boy mom (my daughter was born first) some of those traits of a boy have grown on my daughter ahhhh

I lurve to drink vodka out of the bottle! I eventually knocked out on both sides of the bed so my man has to sleep on the couch!

Aperol spritz! Aperol is an orange flavored Italian liquor, and the recipe for the spritz is on be back. It’s the best summer drink!

I'm due with our first baby at the end of this month and can't wait to have a margarita this summer! I like them cold and tart with a bit of sweetness - it's the perfect summer drink.

Omg I tried your cookie recipe and made both - the peanut butter ones and the ones with heath bits because my son had a peanut allergy. They were both amazing, but I think the heath cookies are the winners! Those were sooo good!! I could also eat the whole batch (or two because I doubled it all)!

Oyyyy that boy/girl mom thing is so cliche! I have three girls and one boy - and I cannot even begin to relate to that at all!
