1. The weather forecast for the next, like, 5 days shows high 70’s – low 80’s with totally sunny skies. That is basically the most perfect weather EVER.
2. Have you guys tried and/or heard about the new pancakes from Kodiak Cakes?
They now make “Power Cakes” which basically taste just like their original pancakes, but with some added protein to help keep you fuller longer. I tried ’em out earlier this week topped with some peanut butter (even MORE protein!), bananas, and a little maple syrup.
Totally delicious.
3. So I’ve been using a new shampoo and conditioner the past week or so, and I swear, it smells just like peach schnapps…which then leaves me craving a nice, fruity cocktail at 6am.
I do like the stuff though, which is always a plus.
4. Last night was book club night, and it had been so long since I finished the book, I arrived there having no idea what book we were even supposed to be discussing (it was Sharp Objects). Not that it reeeeally matters…I mean, we talk about the book for like, 10 minutes and then the rest is girl chat. As it should be. ;)
5. I swear, I think it’s been almost two weeks since I’ve stepped foot in a Target store. I can hardly believe it.
6. However, in reference to #5 above, I think I may need to break that streak because I really want to buy a Ped Egg.
No, I’m not joking. My feet have a case of the nasties, and I can’t keep paying for pedicures all the time (as much as I’d looove to). Anyone ever use one? Does it work? Have I totally grossed you out?
7. Do you guys remember my friend Christina? You know, the super talented one that makes customized ornaments and tree prints? Well she’s currently raising money for Paws in the Park, which is a walk taking place tomorrow which will benefit the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. Her and her friend Bonnie are walking as a team, and they’re in the hunt to try and reach 2nd place. The money raised at this walk will help the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society rescue more dogs (and other animals) and pay for the expenses that occur while fostering this furry babies until they are able to find their forever home. In Christina’s words, “I really want to kick butt in this. This is my first year in the walk and I would love to take the event by storm and raise as much money as I can to help give more dogs the chance to find the love they deserve.”
Hearing her talk about it last night was proof that she is extremely passionate about this (she has two rescue pups, Blue and Gunther, which are super adorable).
If anyone is interested in donating towards the cause (no donation is too small, and all are tax deductible) please feel free to check out her link! http://pawswalk.mohawkhumane.
8. These Inner Peas snacks from Trader Joe’s are my new favorite “thing.” So salty, so crunchy.

I got a shipment of those pancakes too and I’m sooooo loving them. I made them the extra protein way with an added egg and milk. It was almond milk, but whatever. Your book club sounds very similar to my book club. Sharp Objects is a great book though. have a great weekend!
First, where did you get those pancakes??? Second, I have a ped egg and used it for a while but then just kind of forgot about it. Ironically, I had a pedicure this past weekend and paid for the extra callous treatment (even though mine aren’t bad at all but it came with an extra 10 min massage – sold!) and they used that on me, so I’m thinking I should attempt to find it again!
Haha, the company sent them to me! BUT, they sell them (at least the original variety) at Target.
Happy WFH day! ;)
I have always wanted to try Kodiak Cakes because people rave about them, but now I am craving them even more! I have to find this asap!
70-80 sounds amazing! We have had highs in the upper 90’s ALL week and I am about done with it! I need a LITTLE bit of a break!
Yay for nice weather!
I have yet to try the Kodiak Cakes brand! I’ve only heard good things about it and seeing as I love pancakes, I should really look in the store and see if I can find some. The power cakes sound delish!
I need a ped egg, too! I’m too cheap to shell out $35 every two weeks for a pedi and my feet aren’t the prettiest thing wearing flip flips and sandals all the time.
I need to get my hands on some of the Power Cakes! I have the original version in my pantry but extra protein is never a bad thing!
I just found that Kodiak mix here at Costco in CANADA. Lol. We never get any fun products you guys have so I was excited to have it here now. I always bought it when we went south.
I’m all about those inner peas snacks – I go through them way too fast! And I still need to try those kodiak cakes!
I’ve got a ped egg and love it! You’d be surprised at how well it really does work. Even my boyfriend is hooked!
Good to know!!
I loove me my Kodiak Cakes – gotta try those protein ones!! I have a Ped Egg and don’t really like or hate it. I find it works best on me when my feet have been soaking for awhile!
Can I have some of the weather that you’re having?! We have RAIN and clouds for the next 5 days and have already had it the last 3. When the sun pops out, we all basically run outside to enjoy whatever bit of sunshine we can get!
Funny you mention those pancakes today … I’m having a giveaway for them on my blog today. ;) They are really good. I think I love them even more than the traditional Kodiak Cakes which is saying a lot.
I get gross feet too, especially during the summer. For as much as I wear sandals and walk around barefoot, I’m not surprised. I need to find one of those callous remover things! I’d totally be up for trying one.
OK, so I give Hunter graham crackers ALL the time and I’ve never even thought about the fact that they may have honey in them. Whoops. Guess I should check that out the next time I buy them. Thanks for the heads up!
Haha, I laughed when I read your post earlier. I was like, “heyyyy, they look familiar!” ;)
Those Inner Peas look so good! Great find!
Beautiful weather! I’ve always been curious about Kodiak Cakes but have never tried them. Maybe it’s time to try them! :)
Yess to those Inner Peas!!! As someone who loves all things salty (literally, not figuratively ;-), I am sold – must try the next time I’m at Trader Joe’s! The fact that its a green veggie is a Bonus! Lol. :)
Have you tried just generally exfoliating your feet? Then use oil or foot lotion with socks. That might help!
I find pancakes always leave me hungry so I would definitely like extra protein!
Somewhat…usually doesn’t quite do the trick, haha (hangs head in shame…so gross) ;)
I love Kodiak Cakes. I get my at the local Target but they only sell one kind. Do you buy yours online?
Nope, I also get mine at Target. The company actually sent me that box of Power Cakes, so I’m not sure whether or not that variety is out in stores yet? I’m keeping my eyes peeled though!
We got a box of the Power Cakes in the Blend swag bags, and I’m a big fan! Got full boyfriend approval too.
I should really get one of those PedEgg things – my feet are awful!
Those power cakes look awesome!! Just curious… how much mix did you use for your 3 cakes?
1/2 cup :)
Those inner peas looks so good! I will try to look for them the next time I go to Trader Joes!
I love Target! I always find an excuse to go there! lol
I ordered a ped egg a few weeks ago and can’t wait for it to get here! I’m WAYYY overdue on a pedicure and “runner’s” feet aren’t pretty ;)
Haha, let me know how it works for you!!!
I have seen these pancakes all over the place (in the blogsphere) today – they look so good! I might have to pop into TJs today to see if I can find them. No clue on the ped egg, but you’ll have to review it because my feet also ‘have a case of the nasties’ – hah!
I don’t think they carry them at TJ’s…the only place I’ve seen the Kodiak Cakes (around me, at least) is Target!
I’ve tried the PedEgg and I wasn’t impressed. My skin is very sensitive and it was irritated for a bit afterward. I’ll stick to my pedicures.
Hmm, good to know!
Get the Ped Egg!! And make sure you get the one with the handle. Best thing for your heels……EVER!! Can you tell I like the product? ;)
i got the ped egg last summer b/c i was sick of paying for pedicures. its so worth it! it take about 5 min every two weeks. i slather on lotion and sleep in a pair of socks and my feet are good to go.
I have a ped egg! Love it! I always get hard skin in the summer when the flip flops come out! It’s hard to do it yourself…Jay could give them a good go for you, and its so satisfying when you get all the hard skin off! I always do it over a black tshirt…!
What that pancake company on Shark tank? I think I remember seeing their pitch. They sound tasty!
Courtney, I noticed you bought the crackers without honey. I have a son myself, and when he eats food, I guess this is something I must also be mindful of. However, I thought if honey was baked in something, it was okay for them to eat. Is that not the case? Thanks for your help! :)
That’s very possible, Alaina! I hadn’t heard that discrepancy before, but I honestly never researched it TOO much. I just remembered reading a few places and being told to stay away from honey in general for the first year.
i actually have had a PedEgg for a few years now and keep forgetting to use it! i’ve only used it a couple of times and it def helped — my mom decided i needed one for my runner’s feet. she was right. :)
ahhh…perfect weather! We’re rocking in the mid 90’s down here in Alabama. It’s miserable. But, I’m not going to complain because come December I’ll be longing for these days!
I haven’t tried ped egg specifically but I’ve tried the stone kinds looong ago. It works well when feet are soaked in hot water! Sometimes though, people end up having to use it more because it keeps creating more dead skin. So perhaps it’s different for different people? ;)
Those Inner Pea’s from TJ’s are so good right? Hits the spot if you’re craving a bag of chips or something. And they’re not even “healthy” gross tasty. If you get what I’m saying lol
I really should invest in a Ped Egg. For some reason, getting a pedicure is not something I enjoy (prob b/c my feet are ticklish) and therefore my feet are not enjoyable to look at. It’s not really a problem for me most of the year, but in the summer it kind of becomes everyone’s problem if I choose to wear sandals, ya know? ;)
I saw those kodiak cakes at Costco today and picked them up at your recommendation! thank you! :)
I’ve never had kodiak cakes but I love my two ingredient pancakes (two eggs and one mashed banana). It keeps me full for a while without making want to take a nap :)
I love the idea of a protein pancake mix. I am constantly trying out new protein pancake recipes, but they are never as fluffy as I’d like!
