*Edited to add: Apparently I was a little tired when originally typing up the title for today’s post. No, it’s not a fun facts Friday post, unfortunately!
I swear, the weather seriously could not have gotten any nicer this weekend. Two days of bright sunshine and 90 degree weather makes for one happy gal.
And one happy family, for that matter. We spent as much time outside as possible, split between baby pools, water tables, and big people pools. We were home all day Saturday, and outside of some housework and a workout, a good majority of the day was out in the sunshine. Uncle Dan even stopped by for a visit!
Saturday night, my MIL came over to watch the boy and Jay and I headed out for a date night. We started out with an early showing of Neighbors at the movie theater, which was actually the first time we’d been since before Lucas was born.
The movie was funny, nothing spectacular. But there were some pretty funny parts that Jay and I could relate to about being new parents and “growing up.”
After our movie, we hit up one of our favorite restaurants for a couple drinks and some dinner out on the patio.
Beer for him, (way too expensive) sangria for me.
For dinner, I got an insanely enormous (and totally delicious) house chop salad, which came just how I like it…filled to the brim with all sorts of veggies and grilled chicken. Mmm mmm mmmmm.
Sunday morning started with a bit earlier-than-normal wakeup call from Lucas, which was fine since Jay had to get up early to go golfing. Lucas and I hung out for a couple of hours before his nap time, I squeezed in a workout and a couple loads of laundry while he slept, then once he was up, we headed over to my parents’ house for lunch and an afternoon at the pool.
My mom cooked up some burgers and hot dogs, so I opted for a hot dog topped with sautéed onions, along with regular salad and fruit salad.
I also thoroughly enjoyed this blueberry hill lager from Sam Adams.
But most of all, I enjoyed my time in the pool with my little watermelon-eating beach bum.
I really need to find him a new hat and new pool shirt, since pretty much all of his summer photos so far have him in the same exact outfit.
So that was our weekend, in a nutshell! A perfect mix of family time, hubby time, and chill time. How about you guys? Did anyone do anything fun and exciting??
