1. Jay passed a big exam at work on Wednesday, so we absolutely had to celebrate.
With nothing but the best, of course…a big, fancy bottle of $5.99 Andre champagne, baby.
2. I bought Lucas this pair of Reebok sneakers a few weeks ago, and yesterday was the first day he was able to wear them (he grew into size 4’s overnight, I swear?!).
I am obsessed with them. And yea yea, it’s cliché but I don’t care…seriously, I cannot get over how big he’s getting.
3. This week has been my final week of the beta phase for T25, but I’ve already decided…I’m moving on to the gamma phase!
I’ll start it on Monday and I’m so excited to keep going, since I’ve heard such great things about it. I’ll be sure to fill you guys in!
4. I’m so excited to finally get my order of TOMS! I ordered a pair for myself and a pair for Lucas during the Zulily sale and had to prevent myself from buying more.
However, if they fit as amazing as everyone says, I’ll likely have to get myself another pair because their site is showing a ton more cute patterns and colors right now. Gahhh.
5. Sometimes, there’s nothing like a big ol’ bowl of comfort food at mom and dad’s house.
Lucas and I went over for dinner last night after I got out of work since Jay had to work late. It’s a win-win…Lucas gets extra gramma and papa time, and I get dinner without having to wash dishes.
6. I made these Chili Cheeseburger Enchiladas earlier this week from my girl Kristen and they were surprisingly super delicious. I’d been craving all things cheeseburger but had soft taco shells on hand so this recipe was perrrfect. I’d definitely recommend!
7. I had to make one of my bi-weekly trips to Target yesterday. This was one of my impulse buys.
Ohhhh myyyyyy.
8. The main reason for said Target trip above was not so fun though…
I definitely feel like I’m catching something so I wanted to pick up some Zicam in hopes of preventing or shortening whatever it is that’s on the way. Blech…being sick is the pits. Especially when you have to worry about possibly infecting the little ones!
9. Soooo, Jay and I are really hoping to pre-order the iPhone6 today. I cannot WAIT! Anyone else??
10. This weekend is the 3rd Annual Yard Olympics! Pretty sure things will be a bit different this year with babies all over the place, but I’m sure it’s gonna be fun nonetheless.
Look at Lucas stylin’ in his Reebok’s! Too cute! Congrats to Jay! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
That giant bowl of pasta looks heavenly.
Oh…it WAS :-D
Congrats to Jay! I’ve been hearing about these flavored peanut butters and would love a review.
I actually tried it last night and didn’t loooooove it. It was good, but not as exciting as I was hoping. I wound up melting a little bit and swirling it into some vanilla yogurt with chocolate chips :-P
You have got to tell me how that pumpkin peanut butter is! It’s my two favorite things in the whole world, so this could potentially be life changing.
Meh…I actually tried it last night and was kind of disappointed. It was good…not great, in my opinion. I guess I just prefer my PB and pumpkin separate? :)
Aww, that’s too bad! Thanks for giving me a heads up though! Have a great weekend, Courtney.
Huge congrats to Jay! I’m sure that’s a huge stress relief for both of you. I hope you don’t get a cold. That’s never fun, especially with a little one. I haven’t really read about the iPhone 6 but I have the 5 and it’s still working, so I’m going to hold off on getting the new one until it’s needed.
So glad to hear you ordered the TOMS … please share a “review” with us after you try them out for a day or so. I’m curious to know if they fit true to size or not, how comfortable they are, etc. Seriously eyeing several pairs for myself … ;)
I am due for a cell phone upgrade next month, so I am hoping to score a new iPhone 6 myself. I have the 4S, and it’s still working OK, but I would LOVE to have a larger display. It’s just so difficult to read small text on webpages right now.
Your reviews of the T25 program definitely have me intrigued. I was thinking it would make the perfect fall/winter at-home workout program for me. I was thinking about joining the gym again for the winter, but I’d like to save money for our upcoming wedding. Plus, I don’t mind working out at home after work. Hmmm … decisions, decisions.
Have a great time at the Summer Olympics this weekend! Might have to bundle up a little more this year though … temps in the low 60s for NY this weekend.
I’ll definitely share my thoughts on the TOMS, don’t you worry! ;) And yes, I saw the colder temps! Crazy…but I’m kinda excited :)
Little kids shoes are seriously so cute. Those baby Toms though are going to be adorable. I just got over a cold this week too, it only lasted about three days though so it wasn’t the worst!
Glad you’re feeling better!
I bought that peanut butter in an impulse moment in Target last week too – but was so disappointed when I tried it! I thought it was too oily and it has a weird smell – maybe I just got a bad batch? Let us know what you think of it!
I’m with you! Definitely didn’t like it as much as I thought I would…tried it last night but wasn’t a huge fan. Bummerrrr
Oh no, I hope you don’t get sick. Comfort food will help, I’m sure. I love doing dinner with my parents when Kevin has class at night. Dinner and adult conversation, yaaaaay!
Congrats to Jay, and your son is so cute! What did you think of the pumpkin Jif? I wasn’t a fan, which is probably good since I would have eaten the entire jar otherwise! ;) Also, cute Toms!
I actually didn’t love it either! Tried some last night and it was just a little…odd? I tried swirling some into yogurt which helped, but I don’t think I’ll enjoy eating it plain like I was hoping. Ahh well…
I keep hearing good things about T25! I’m going to have to give it a whirl someday, once my endurance is better (I still haven’t been able to complete 30 Day Shred. Sad as that is). My friend, Danielle, raves about it all the time!
Lucas is adorable. Can I just offer one piece of friendly advice? The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that kids stay in rear-facing car seats until at least age 2. It looks like Lucas is forward facing in the picture above. I don’t mean to preach or be sanctimonious — a lot of parents just don’t know the new rule (the old standard was to turn kids at age 1). My pediatrician is very serious about it, so that’s the only reason I really know. Here’s an article on it:
http://www.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/03/21/car.seat.guidelines.parenting/
Maggie – I was going to say the same thing. I would encourage people to check out the Car Seat Lady blog, they have links to a lot of the most recent research that shows rear facing is 5 times safer for children than forward facing, and encourage people to keep their children rear facing for as long as possible, even though a child might meet the minimum weight/height requirements for forward facing. I only know all this b/c I’ve been researching myself, and found it to be quite interesting!
I would third all of this. I got worried seeing him face forward but of course nobody wants to tell another mom how to parent. But I just want Lucas as safe as possible!
Thanks so much for the feedback, ladies! (I totally get the concern about not wanting to sound preachy, but you didn’t come off that way at all, and I really appreciate it.) :)
pumpkin pb?? hmm def would be worth trying because i like all things peanut butter!!!
i want all of the pumpkin EVERYTHING!
Keep hearing great things about T25…what are your thoughts on it? I am in a major workout slump and am thinking of purchasing to help motivate me again…especially with that (cold..yuck) weather coming again!! Love your blog!! Have a great weekend :)
I have 2 weeks left on Beta. Wasn’t sure about buying Gamma, so I am interested to hear your review and if it’s worth the extra $$.
I wasn’t a big fan of the Pumpkin Spice Whip nor the Maple Brown Sugar one. Which maybe isn’t a bad thing considering what happened the last time I found a Whip I really liked. Have you had the S’Mores version yet? If not, don’t even think about getting it unless you are okay with eating it by the spoonful in two sittings. YUM!
I’m on the lookout for those Pumpkin Spice morsels I keep seeing online but not in the actual store. Hopefully today’s trip to Tar-zhay will pay off.
OMG I have not…but that sounds SOOO good!!
Love the baby sneaks! Just got my little guy nikes, watch out he went from 4.5 to 7s overnight. No wonder he was taking his shoes off!
Hope you like the Tom’s! I think they’re great. That pic of Lucas by the fridge is just so cute. Happy Friday!
Pumpkin spice peanut butter??? Holy cow, I am LOVING all of the creative pumpkiny things they are coming out with this month!
A yard Olympics? Sounds fun! I’m teaching a couple of group fitness classes this weekend and my husband and I have plans to go to a festival on Saturday at Golden Gate Park in the city and a nice dinner on Saturday night. Looking forward to some relaxing. I hope you feel better!
I was so bummed when I went to order Tom’s from Zulilly this week and they were sold out of practically every single pair I wanted in my size. So frustrating!
Baby Toms are the cutest thing ever! I LOVE my toms…3 pairs, if I had the money I’d be straight on to buy another pair! Do you not have any yet? Hope you love em!
Babies in “real” shoes… I die!!! I ordered some TOMS wedges for myself! And I JUST heard about the JIF whipped today, I can’t wait to get some!
I like Toms, though I don’t adore them like a lot of other people do. But they are super cute and comfy – know that you do have to “break them in” a bit so they stretch to your feet, but then I bet you’ll like them!
we are waiting to order our phones once we are up for an upgrade(not til mid October), but I am SUPER excited about the apple watch so sad I won’t get one until 2015… I guess time to start saving up :)
This post sent me off to Target today for the Pumpkin Pie Spice Jif Whips. Holy cow…..seriously delicious!!! I never would have know it existed without your post so thanks for sharing!
That pasta just looks perfect! Gotta love avoiding dishes ;-)
Those sneakers totally make Lucas look like an older baby!!! He looks like he’ll be running around like crazy in those, haha. ;) And now I’m seriously curious about T25….to try it or not to try it???
Congratulations on taking the Gold 3 years in a row in the Yard Olympics. Hopefully Lucas will have you’re Athletic skills when he gets older too.
I’m sure he will…either that or his papa’s athletic skills :)
