I love clothes. And I love shopping. But these days, with working and a kiddo, and having other things I’d just rather do in my free time, it’s not always very easy to make it to the mall to hit up some of my favorite stores. So when I heard about LE TOTE, I realized, wow. Okay, this is perfect! And, did I mention super fun??
So…what is LE TOTE?
LE TOTE is a fashion rental service that, for only $49/month, gives women access to an infinite closet (<—YES!) of garments & accessories. Plus, you’re able to get unlimited boxes of clothing and accessories each month. As soon as you send one back, another one will be on its way!
I’m telling you guys, you’ve GOT to give it a try for yourself. And GOOD NEWS, you can get 20% off your first month when you sign up HERE using code SWEETTOTE. (The discount will automatically be applied to your order when you go through the sign-up process through that link, so there’s no need to re-enter the code. Just make sure to click that link in order to access the 20% off!). Plus, they have an awesome referral program where you can earn $25 in credits when someone signs up using your link and makes a purchase.* So it’s totally worth trying out, if ya ask me.
*The links contained in this post are not referral links, FYI.
So…how does LE TOTE work? Super simple!
1. Once you sign up, you’ll want to fill out your style profile. First, it will ask you about which styles speak to you, what your go-to stores would be, and favorite celebrity styles.
From there, you’ll fill out your sizing, body shape (pear, apple, etc.), and list any preferences you may have.
2. Next, you’ll go into their huge “closet” and start choosing pieces to add to your own personal closet.
You would do this by simply clicking on an item then clicking “Add to Closet.” You’ll likely want to add a bunch (like, upwards of 50 items) to your closet, just to give you some good variety!
3. Next, your LE TOTE personal stylist will curate your tote with items in your closet and items that fit your style.
4. You receive your tote, delivered right to your doorstep, and wear the items for as long or as little as you want. It doesn’t matter if you keep your tote for 2 days or 3 weeks, which I thought was so awesome! Each tote contains 3 garments and 2 accessories, to give you a good variety of things you could mix and match.
5. When you’re ready to receive your next tote, simply send the whole tote back in the prepaid envelope and they’ll send you a new tote immediately (shipping is FREE both ways). If you absolutely loved something, you can hold on to it and send everything else back. This lets them know that you’d like to purchase it and they’ll charge the card on file. Members receive discounts up to 80% off of retail price when they purchase items!
Oh, and when you’re ready to send your tote back, don’t even worry about washing it…they take care of all the laundry for you. How amazing is THAT?
So here’s a look at my first tote…
LE TOTE carries a bunch of upscale brands from stores & sites like Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Shopbop, Lord & Taylor, Piperlime, Anthropologie, French Connection, and more. Since I usually only allow myself to “window shop” at many of those stores, it’s been so fun to be able to actually wear some of the items from them.
I really loved the look and feel of this Alix Sweater from Weston Wear, and I elongated the look by layering a black tank underneath. The Noir Luxe necklace I paired with it, also got worn about three other times…and then I decided that I loved it enough to keep it.
This Lake Side Zip Pullover from Summer & Sage was great for a cozy weekend.
Members of LE TOTE get the opportunity to customize their boxes and get exactly what they want, which is a great perk, in my opinion. The stylist chooses items for you, but 24 hours before your box is shipped, you can go in and switch out items you don’t want or need that week.
In my first tote, I didn’t switch anything out, but I did make a couple of swaps in my second tote because I really wanted to get my hands on this red B Centrale Lauren Blazer…
Oh, and side note…you guys should be proud of me. That hair right there is post-workout, unwashed. Maybe I’m getting there??
The black Tart stretch tank and Pacifica Abalone necklace from Summer & Sage LTD pictured above were also in my second tote, too. I was so excited for that blazer, but it wound up being just a tad too big, so I didn’t end up keeping it. However, it was still totally fine to wear and I got a ton of complements the day I wore it (and, apparently, people thought I was going to an interview).
Simply put, I’ve been loving LE TOTE and I’m already excited to see what’s coming in my next tote (I shipped my second one out yesterday, so it should be here soon!).

what a cool concept! I always loved sharing a closet with my sister growing up because I got double the amount of clothes! This service reminds me of that – s magic second closet! Love that they have designer brands.
Linz @ Itz Linz says
I like the sound of this as I never have time to shop either!!
Britt@MyOwnBalance says
I love that blazer! Renting clothes is so smart. I rented maternity clothes and was so glad I did. It cut way down on expenses.
Renee @ Fit For Motherhood says
Wow!! This sounds amazing. I love that you can switch things out before they send it; that is definitely a perk. I am going to have to give it a try. Thank you!!
Ashley@The North Carolina Cowgirl says
Now this might actually be something I try! I couldn’t get into the other “box” offers because the clothes were to expensive for my taste. I’m just a big bargain shopper so unless I can get something for a deal, then I don’t buy it. But this concept sounds awesome! So glad you shared it! BTW, that blazer is to die for!
Marielle says
What a fun idea!! Love it. And that red blazer looks so good on you!
Emily says
Could you give us an idea of what those items would have cost if you purchased them?
Courtney says
Hey Emily! The prices are discounted when you’re a member vs buying retail, but when I look at the pricing in my closet, here are some examples of what it would cost me (as a member) to purchase any of the items:
SUMMER & SAGE Lake Side Zip Pullover $54
WESTON WEAR Alix Sweater $84
NOIR Eve Blouse $54
B CENTRALE Lauren Blazer $34
SUMMER & SAGE LTD Pacifica Abalone Necklace $28
NOIR LUXE Luna Necklace $28 (<-- this is one I did keep!) TART Stretch Tank With Trim $28 There's also a discount if you decide to buy the whole tote, I'm not 100% sure what that is but I can check if you'd like?! Does that help? :)
Kelsey says
Oh my gosh.. I love this idea! I am debating whether I want to sign up because I feel like it could become a new obsession :) Are there lots of good summer dresses on there too?
Courtney says
You should absolutely try it! It’s so fun…and I have seen some more summery stuff/dresses coming in each week. And I’ve also noticed that, depending on which designers you choose as your favorites, other things seem to appear (unless that’s just the new stuff being added). ;)
Patty says
This sounds like a great concept. What happens if you receive damaged clothes or you stain one of the pieces of clothing?
Courtney says
Hey Patty! You can opt into a $5 insurance policy per subscription, which would cover you for damaging or staining a piece of clothing beyond repair. If someone received a damaged item in the mail, you could contact customer service to remedy the situation since it wasn’t the customer’s fault. :)
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday says
This is such a cool idea! It’s so fun to mix up your wardrobe, and I love that this lets you decide how long to keep your items. That blazer looks great on you and that necklace is really nice, too!
Caitlin says
OK, I am TOTALLY intrigued! How long is the discount code good for? I just ordered a ton of stuff from White Plum (using a discount code from Meghann, ha!) so I don’t think I’d want to sign up for this now because I have new stuff to wear on its way. But in the future, I’m totally down to try this!
Courtney says
Hey Caitlin! It’s good until May 31st 2015!
Caitlin says
Nice, thanks!
C. says
OMG this is the greatest invention ever! Thanks so much for sharing!
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
That’s a pretty cool concept!! Definitely seems more cost effective than buying all of that AND you could basically have a new warddrobe every week if you wanted! But, maybe overtime I’m not sure I could do $49 often, but for special occasions I think it’s a great idea!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
Very cool concept! It sounds very similar to the Rocksbox thing I’ve been trying out recently, except Rocksbox is just jewelry … but similar idea. I love that you get to try something out and wear it risk free and then have the chance to purchase it if you want. You are totally rockin’ that red blazer + necklace by the way – love that outfit on you!
Koryn @ High Heels & Healthy Alternatives says
Ok, I’m almost SOLD on this idea!!! I never have time to shop, but still would like to have some new clothes for the summer… it’s a great way to shop without having to actually go to the store to try clothes on. :-)
I attempted to sign up but I wasn’t prompted to note any of my preferences like you noted in your blog post, however. I just shopped my fave looks and then it went straight to the address/shipping details form. So, I stopped short and will get back to it later. Did I do something wrong?
How long is the discount good for also? May have to try it out next month as opposed to this month. Thanks for sharing!
Courtney says
Hey Koryn! Hmmm…did you click on the Style Profile link in your account? That should have all of your preferences in there that you can choose. And the discount is good until May 31st, 2015! Hope you try it, it’s awesome! :)
Koryn @ High Heels & Healthy Alternatives says
Thanks, I’ll try that! :-)
Parita @ myinnershakti says
The red blazer is on point! And question – if you like something, do you have to option to buy it?
Courtney says
Yep, sure do! Once you sign up, you get member pricing, which is a pretty great discount!
Kristi says
Loving this concept. I’ve been bummed out about my last few Stitch Fix shipments…so I might give this a try instead!
Julie says
Great review! I had looked into this a few months ago but hadn’t really seen any reviews. Yours convinced me to order my first tote! Can’t wait :)
Nicole says
Love the post-workout/no-shampoo hair! Super cute! Tutorial?? Hints?? :)
Courtney says
Thank you! Oh gosh, I’m not really sure? I had used some extra product the day before so it still had a little extra “oomph” from that. Somehow, it managed to look pretty good when I put my headband on before my workout, and it didn’t really end up moving much, so I didn’t touch it after either, haha. Gross? Maybe ;)
ASHLEY ELDRED says
Listen Le tote does nothing but steal people’s money! They will send you great things at first and then send you whatever they have laying around. It’s usually ugly, to big, not in season or not for the right season. My biggest problem with this site is that they basically refuse to let you cancel. I have emailed them over and over with no response and there’s no phone number. When I put my account on hold to try and figure out how to cancel it, so they couldn’t still charge me, they just gave me a month free with no response again at all. This has been a complete nightmare with this company and it’s really not worth the headache!!!! I now will have to cancel my card in order to end this once and for all!!
