Being surrounded by amazing fathers on Father’s Day reminds me just how lucky I am to have such awesome guys in my life. Like my daddy-o.
He’s just the best, and we were able to spend some of Saturday evening and most of Saturday morning with him and my mama since we stayed over at their house on Saturday night.
Once everyone was up for the day, we all hung out, watched some Saturday morning cartoons, and played with some cars (of course) until it was time for the most amazing spread of a breakfast. My mom made cooked-to-order omelets and eggs, bacon, and even made the Cinnabon Coffee Cake that we all loved and devoured just a couple of Father’s Days ago.
That thing is just SO good.
Papa and Lucas enjoyed their juice while we all had breakfast too, of course.
Once the morning was over and Lucas was ready for his nap, we put him down at my parents’ house, and then Jay and I went to go visit the new house!
They finished up the insulation last week, and this week they’ll do the sheetrock and taping. Sooo, by the end of this week, the insides could possibly be looking more and more like an actual home.
Our excitement is just through the roof!!
Shortly after we got back to my parents’ house and Lucas was up from his nap, we got ready and headed over to my in-laws house for the afternoon and dinner. We all enjoyed some drinks by the “pool,”
which was this sweet new pool that they got for Lucas. He thought it was just great, although he was afraid to sit down.
Too cold, perhaps? Either way, he still loved getting water all over the place.
It actually turned out to be a pretty decent afternoon (despite what they were predicting with the forecast), so we got to enjoy some outdoor time.
Including plenty of running…
Flying through the air…
And riding bikes (or, rather, “bikeys!”).
Man, he looks enormous compared to last year.
Oh, and we even got to visit with the Codeman! I snuggled with him (as much as he’d allow…which was minimal), but it was so nice to see him.
We’re almost there, Cody. Hang in there little buddy!
We also had a delicious dinner, complete with grilled chicken, baked potatoes, steamed asparagus, and corn on the cob.
And for dessert, we devoured homemade brownies and ice cream.
And I’m not going to lie…right before I started typing up this post, I also had another piece of coffee cake from our breakfast from earlier. The stuff is just SO good…can’t. stay. away.
So we all had a great Father’s Day over here! How about you guys? Did you all have an awesome weekend? Do anything fun and exciting??
I’ll be back later this morning with a yummy new recipe post, so stay tuned!

Looks like an amazing weekend. And the home is coming along quickly (although it probably doesn’t feel that way for you now). Our weekend was great, celebrating father’s day. Have a great Monday!

Aw so glad you got to see both families this weekend and celebrate! Lucas is getting so big. I can’t believe how small he was last year, but all the fun he’s having this year! Love the pool :) Your house is really coming along, too! How is Cody doing with your in laws? I’m sure he’s ready to have you to snuggle with every night!
Courtney says
Haha, he’s doing okay! My inlaws have a cat too, and they have their “battles” every now and then, we’re told. But overall, they’re all doing very well together! Hopefully it won’t be TOO much longer now :) (and yes, we’re ready for our Cody snuggles again!!)
