Hey guys! I’m a little short on time today but wanted to pop in quick to say hello and tie up a couple of loose ends. Then, it’s back to my little roly poly who has been totally interested in playing with his pant legs and rolling onto his side the past two days.
He just makes me laugh.
NOW…first and foremost, I still haven’t heard from the winner of the Babies”R”Us giveaway. Was it you?? Be sure to check it out!
Second, I’m sure many of you are waiting to see who won the LaMaLu Boutique giveaway! Thanks to all who entered, but the lucky winner of the store credit is…entry #166
Congratulations, Jennifer! Please email me at sweettoothcourtney at gmail dot com, so I can set you up with your prize!
In the meantime, I also want to give you guys a heads up that Lauren from LaMaLu is currently moving warehouses so she’s having a moving sale…20% off the entire site! Just enter “MOVING20” at checkout to get your savings.
And finally…
Seeing that today is the beginning of October (seriously?!?) that means, as many of you know, it’s the start of breast cancer awareness month. I wanted to let you guys know about a really great fundraiser that Becca from Family Faith Fitness is doing…
Becca is a Thirty-One consultant and from now until October 20th, she has a special “party” set up where ALL of the commissions will be going towards Breast Cancer research.
*Updated to add…Becca recently gave me some more details on exactly how she’s looking to donate:
The donation will be doing two things. It will go to Breast Cancer Research… (It was suppose to be the Susan G foundation, however, I was recently emailed that not a lot of the proceeds actually GO towards research, so I am currently waiting to hear back from them to find out exactly how much goes to each category) The second part is I buy the uru thermals that are in the catalog and fill them full of goodies, for those going in for chemo. I did this last year and it was a HUGE success. I fill them with water, juices, granola bars, fruit snacks, usually a little book (sudoku, crossword, etc) The patients that come in get to keep the tote as well. I donated over 50 last year to the local hospitals all around me. I actually got an email from her a few months ago saying they were out, so thought this would be the perfect time to do it again.
The direct link to the party is HERE.
To find out more details about the fundraiser (and other ways you can be entered to win free prizes!), the link to her blog post about it is HERE.
Her goal is to raise $1,000 by the end of the fundraiser, and I’m really hoping she’s able to reach that with the help of some internet friends! Be sure to check it out…we can all use some new bags and/or accessories every now and then, right?
*****
That’s all I’ve got time for today, my friends. I’ll try to get back with you all tomorrow!
Happy OCTOBER! What is everyone looking forward to this month??

Hey Courtney, I know you’re busy with your new baby and I’m genuinely not trying to be a jerk, but what exactly does “breast cancer awareness” mean? What organization is the money being given to? Is the money going to research? Education? Patient services? Like I said, I’m not trying to be rude! Breast cancer runs in my family so it’s something I’m pretty passionate about and I’m just curious where exactly the money goes. Thanks!
Courtney says
Not seen as rude at all!! Thanks for bringing that to my attention. It’s going towards research and I just forgot to include that in the post. Going to fix far now…thanks again!
E says
Thanks lady! I’d rather give my money to research than awareness ;)

I am looking forward to several trips including two to cheer on my husband in the Chicago Marathon and Marine Corps Marathon! October is one of my favorite months!
Sammy @ Peace Love and Ice Cream says
I know – can it really be October already?! Crazy! I remember when my kids were baby-babies like your little little cutie….every day I waited and watched for new things that they did. “He’s flipping; he’s turning; he this’d; he that’d” Enjoy every moment (which I am sure you are! :))

Love that idea! I’ll check it out. Breast Cancer Awareness is near and dear to my heart because it runs in my family.
I’m looking forward to taking my NASM test and (hopefully) passing it!

Courtney, I can’t seem to find where you posted the Babies R Us giveaway winner’s name. It’s not likely that I won, but I want to make sure I didn’t!
Courtney says
Sorry Kaelin, it’s in this post: https://www.sweettoothsweetlife.com/2013/09/27/fun-facts-friday-927/ But it’s someone named Laura, sorry!

I literally just heard on the News yesterday morning, that October is National Bullying Awareness month, and I had never heard of that before then! I’m defiantly just looking forward to the cooler temperatures :)

Looking forward to life slowing down a little bit this month, getting some more family time and time to really work on planning my wedding.
