Yesterday was a good day, for being a Monday and all. I mean, nobody really ever looks forward to a Monday, do they?
It all started off with a great PiYo workout first thing in the morning, followed by a trip to Starbucks on my ride into work. They accidentally turned my grande blond roast order into a venti and charged me for it, so once they realized the error, they credited my card back and gave me the drink for free. Yes, I’ll take it!
So I sipped on that all morning long, and enjoyed it along with my toasted cinnamon raisin English muffin with peanut butter and bananas at my desk. Eaten off of a piece of paper, in case you missed that. I like to get fancy sometimes.
I had to pick up some papers at home on my lunch hour, so while I stopped in, I also made myself a little lunch.
Rotisserie chicken, avocado, lettuce, provolone, and honey mustard on a whole wheat wrap. Along with about 3 handfuls of pretzel m&m’s because they were staring me right in the face on the counter and I couldn’t dare say no.
Once my afternoon of work was over, I went to pick up Lucas and then the two of us spent a good hour and a half outside in his sandbox and throwing rocks. It’s basically the coolest thing EVER to do, in his eyes.
So if he thinks it’s cool, then it’s cool with me too.
Once our outdoor playtime was finished, we came in, I fed Lucas some dinner (he actually ate something, halleluiah!), and then we were back to more shenanigans. This time, it was a dance party.
And hey, did you check out that mess in there? Our house is a bit of a disaster right now, thanks to two different projects going on at once.
First, we have a painter here working on painting our foyer and upstairs hallway (neither of us were willing to tackle painting on a ladder for that height) and staining our railing. I’m SO excited with how it’s turning out!
And then, of course, we still have a guy working on our backsplash in the kitchen.
So we’ve got things scattered ALL over this place.
Jay got home a couple hours later, and I had a quick and easy dinner ready and waiting for us.
Side salads with some baked chicken parmesan meatballs (<—my burgers, in meatball form and baked at 350 F for about 20-23 mins) topped with sauce and cheese (double parm??) and baked until melted. Simple and delicious!
Now I’m finishing up this post and I have a husband waiting for me to go help put a tarp over a mound of dirt in our yard. Once we’re done with that? It’s dessert time, baby. Now I just need to figure out what I can find up in here…
I’ll tell ya, it’s fun to write posts like this every once in a while. They’re sort of like day in the life (<—I’ll have to do one of these again soon!), but less detailed and more like how I used to blog. It’s always good to switch things up now and then, right?!
Here’s to hoping for a fab Tuesday, everyone. Make it a great one. <3
