Hey friends! I missed ya last week. How’s life treating you?!
We had a busy and fun-filled Halloween ‘week’ last week, and between trunk-or-treating, trick-or-treating at my office, regular ol’ Halloween, AND tons of leftover candy that was never taken from the bowl we left out, the amount of candy that has passed through the doors of our home has been outrageous.
I’ve already donated a full grocery bag to Lucas’s school (they’re taking donations to coordinate shipping overseas to our soldiers <3), and I’m pretty confident I’m going to still have another full bag to be able to offer, without really making a huge dent in their stashes.
That up there is probably about 1/4 of what we actually had in the house(!).
I’ve certainly been enjoying my fair share of Snickers & Twix bars, but it’s time for these extras to goooo. That is, of course, after I chop up a bunch more to use towards some treats! Like maybe THESE Cookies, THESE Cookies, or THESE delish Candy Parfaits. Yummm.
So speaking of Halloween, we had a blast! The day was filled with parties and parades at school for both of the boys, which they loved.
As for trick-or-treating time, the weather was looking awful all week, so everyone was sort of bracing themselves and basically just hoping we’d be able to get out long enough to hit a few houses. But somehow, the rain (mostly) held off, and the kids were running around in almost 70 degree weather. Crazy, but we’ll take it!
As has been the norm for the past few years, a bunch of us met up at one of the neighbors’ houses beforehand, enjoyed some pizza and drinks, and then we made our way out to trick-or-treat.
We even surprised a house who was waiting for a pizza delivery : )
And since the trailer full of hay bales was such a big hit last year, we made it happen again this year.
Everyone had such a great time!
I’ll be back later this week with some recent dinner favorites, so stay tuned!

This is crazy, but I’m so jealous of your Halloween weather! I live in Mississippi, and it was 38 degrees when we were trick-or-treating!!

I brought our candy stash to work today – at home every time I walked by I ended up taking a piece or two! That trailer ride with the hay looks like so much fun, I’m sure the kids loved it.

Looks like you had a great time! We had cold weather here Texas it was 40 degrees when we started trick-or-treating. As for the candy, because of my food allergies I don’t have to worry about the temptation, but we do have a ton left over. We don’t get many kids down our street, so we’re going to donate it.
