This post is brought to you by Sears!
As we approach Veteran’s Day later this week – a day that carries so much significance, importance, remembrance, and pride…just to name a few – I’m excited to share a little bit more about a wonderful program that Sears has launched again this year called Heroes at Home for the Holidays.
I’m sure that many of you out there have at least one special veteran in your lives. Maybe it’s a neighbor, a spouse, a coworker, or loved one. Whoever it may be, there is no denying that their service and commitment to defending our country and keeping it safe is both admirable and honorable.
With a long-standing commitment to supporting veterans and military families, Sears has brought back the Heroes at Home for the Holidays program to immediately assist low-income veterans who are in urgent need of wheelchair accessibility ramps at their homes. Starting October 30th – November 19th, members can donate to Rebuilding Together, a leading national nonprofit in safe and healthy housing, when they check out at any Sears store or via sears.com/heroesathome.
DID YOU KNOW? Year-round, Sears offers active, reserve or retired military personnel or military spouses 20% off regular-priced (5%off sale-priced) tools and lawn and garden products, with a valid military ID or military spouse ID!
In addition to members being able to donate, Sears has also introduced limited-edition products for the holiday season that give back to Heroes at Home with every purchase.
One of those items is the adorable Heroes at Home Ornament.
These collectible Christmas ornaments, which come in both a moose and a bear, are absolutely adorable and will go perfectly with any holiday décor. I purchased one for our Christmas tree and also purchased a few more to give as gifts this Christmas! And with every qualifying in-store or online purchase of the ornaments, Sears will donate $1 with a minimum donation of $20,000.
The other limited edition item Sears is offering is this great Craftsman Hat.
The hats are great quality and are perfect for the upcoming winter season! As with the ornaments, Sears will also donate $1 from the in-store or online purchase of each qualifying hat with a minimum donation of $4,000.
I decided to go ahead and purchase a bunch of the hats. I’m keeping one for Jay and one for me, and the rest are going to be donated to a local charity that my mother-in-law works with, who is very much in need of some winter apparel.
So if you’re looking for a way to support our veterans and the Heroes at Home program, please be sure to check out both of these items available at Sears!
If you’re looking for some great upcoming sales, Sears is also hosting its Veterans Day sale 11/3-11/19 in-store and online! It’s a awesome opportunity to beat the Black Friday rush and get a jump-start on your holiday shopping!
Aaaaaaand, to help you get started on that holiday shopping, I’ve got a $100 Sears gift card to give away to a lucky STSL reader!
