Well hello and happy Monday to you guys! And happy Columbus Day, at that! If you’re lucky enough to be enjoying the day off today, I hope you’re doing something fun! I’m not off from work, but I am home with both boys since their daycare is closed, so it should make for an interesting day, to say the least I’m sure.
So as I sat down to type up this post for today, I realized that I really don’t have all that much to share! We didn’t leave the house at all this weekend (except for a Home Depot run for Jay and a grocery store run for me).
Other than that, we were total homebodies.
We played outside, we worked around the house, we hung out in the basement.
We read books.
We practiced writing our letters (these wipe clean books are SO fun!).
And we even decided to start planning and building the boys’ reading nook down in the basement.
And by we…I totally mean Jay. Although I did help a bit with the planning part.
I can’t wait until it’s finished!
I did a little organizing and got some stuff ready to mail out.
I took advantage of an early morning wakeup from Alex and stayed up once he went back down to get in my workout for the day.
(weights hiding in the corner because I decided to snap the pic after I was finished)
And I even had Lucas come down to join me when I was just about finished.
I did a little cooking and baking.
And we even made Alex’s 4 month photo shoot a family affair.
Speaking of…our little guy is four months TODAY! Crazy. I’m hoping to have his 4 month recap up sometime later this week.
But for now, he’s not being very cooperative with bedtime so I’m heading back up to try and get him to go back to sleep. It’s been a rough evening on the sleep front over here…I have a feeling the four month sleep regression is in full swing right now…
Have a great day, everyone!

Courtney, I just have to let you know that we made your Slow Cooker Beef and Beans Chili yesterday and it was SO GOOD! Super easy, too! We had it with some blue corn tortilla chips but I am saving that cornbread recipe for next time. Thanks for the awesome recipes!

Your boys are just darling! We just got a treadmill last week and my oldest greeted me in the basement Sunday morning while I was mid-run. “Mama, you exercising?” These boys <3 Happy Monday off!

Nothing wrong with being a homebodie my friend! Sometimes those weekends are the most refreshing! I can’t wait to see the reading nook too! It will be perfect!

Sometimes you just need a weekend home. You still got a lot done!

It’s funny how things change when you add more children to the mix – for instance. Our third baby has no scheduled sleep time:) and he is totally okay with it. In fact I enjoy the nights he takes a little siesta during dinner bedtime for the bigger kids so I can get some one on one time with him before I go to bed for the night, when previously it was always about getting the kids to bed on time. HA. Just an observation! on a side note I love weekends spent at home.

Kudos to you for fitting in a weekend workout. I get a ton of steps in on the weekend days (hello, walking back and forth to do laundry), but I don’t typically get a full workout in.

It’s interesting how circumstances alter, for instance, when more kids are included. Our third child doesn’t have a set bedtime and is completely fine with it.
