You guys may or may not have noticed lately, but I’ve kinda been on a bit of a shopping and shoe kick. I don’t know if it’s because of the change in seasons (which, hello, means totally new wardrobe up here in NY!), but I just can’t stop. I need all. the. things.
Considering the fact that I really should be banking every pretty penny I’m making these days so we can continue to save up for a new house, we’ll just say that Jay hasn’t been too pleased with my extra spending habits lately.
Lucky for me, I was recently contacted by ShoeMint, and they offered to send me a brand-spankin’ new pair of shoes to try out. I swear, it was like someone was watching over me!
Be sure to read through to the end for a sweet giveaway!
When I first heard the name ShoeMint, the first thing that popped to my mind was seeing commercials or something in the past that I was pretty sure included Rachel Bilson. I remember this because, fun fact, my husband loves Rachel Bilson. Like, a lot.
Yeah, I’m not sure who was more upset when The OC ended, him or me. But anyways…
I went ahead and checked out the site and the first thing I noticed was that it was a “members-only” site. I thought, awww crap. I don’t want to pay some sort of monthly fee just to buy shoes. But I soon discovered that it’s a FREE, members-only site. Saweeeet.
So I browsed around a bit on the site, and the more I looked, the more I loved. Yes, it’s a free, members-only site, and it also comes with personalized style recommendations, tips, and trend reports. Each month, they have a new exclusive shoe collection of over 30 styles, which are added based on the newest trends.
Styles range from timeless classics to wearable versions of the latest runway looks, and I will say that I was having a really hard time trying to decide what kind of shoes I wanted to try. Did I want classic pumps for work? Something comfy-casual for weekends?
I was actually *this close* to going with a pair of wicked cute pumps for work, but then I realized that I’m a lot more picky about how pumps fit, so I decided to go the route of my current obsession…boots.
My shoe of choice wound up being The Gretchen, which was actually a bit outside of my shoe “wheelhouse,” so to speak. But I’ve been diggin’ this sort of look every time I see it somewhere (hello, Pinterest) so I figured I’d give it a shot…even though I still wasn’t quite sure how to style/wear them.
I’ve only had the shoes for less than a week, but I’m pretty sure I’ve worn them everyday since I got them, including our weekend trip to the apple orchard.
They’re so easy to slip on/off, they’re super comfortable (something I always get a little nervous about with ordering shoes online), and I love that they’re made of good, real, high-quality leather.
In case you’re a bit like me and also a little nervous sometimes about buying shoes online, ShoeMint always has free shipping and returns, which is a huge plus for me. All of the shoes on the site are super stylish (some probably more stylish than I’d know what to do with!), high quality, and range in price from about $70-$150.
Now. How ‘bout a little giveawayyyy?
