This post is brought to you by Sears!
Well, we are coming down to the wire on our shopping days until Christmas…have you finished all of your shopping yet?!
I swore I was going to be done by the beginning of this month but (as I sort of expected), I’m not. Thankfully, I don’t have TOO much more to get; just a few last minute things for a few special people.
Maybe one of these years I’ll actually get it all done early!
So for those of you who still have some shopping left to do, here are a few tips for getting those last-minute gifts…
Think of Fun Experiences
Gifts don’t have to be something that fit perfectly in a box to wrap up. Think outside the box and see what fun experiences are in your (or your recipient’s) area. Maybe they love to ski/snowboard? Grab them a couple of passes to a local mountain! Do they love to cook? Check out some local food classes! And of course, if they love to be pampered, see what options your local spa has.
Make a List
It can be super easy to feel overwhelmed as you’re walking through the store and feeling the time crunch. When I get like that, I’ll often start to grab more than I really need, “just to be safe” and then my whole budget is thrown off. Even if you don’t know what you’re getting yet, know your budget and stick with it.
Food Gifts Rock
Do you love baking up holiday sweets? Bake some up with a little extra love and gift them to the special ones on your list (check out this post for some festive gift packaging ideas)! Even if you aren’t a baker, putting together a basket of specialty items (cheeses, breads, jams, etc.) is always a fun treat.
Give Gift Cards
I know, I know…”but they’re so impersonal!” I get it. They’re not personal. HOWEVER, I absolutely LOVE receiving gift cards as gifts because it allows me to purchase whatever it is that I actually need. And maybe there isn’t something I need right away, but I’ll be able to use it later, which is totally awesome. Make it personal by choosing a store you know he/she really likes and add a special note!
Shop Online and Pick Up in Store the Same Day
This is one of my favorite things to do (and one thing I’m actually doing this week) with Sears. Sears has some really convenient services that are perfect for last-minute shopping, and my personal favorite service of theirs (which I use almost every time I shop there!) is their In-Vehicle Pickup. I can quickly and easily shop online, drive to the store on my lunch hour, and have my items ready and brought to my car within five minutes. It’s just the best.
If you haven’t already, definitely be sure to check out all of their gift ideas at Sears.com/gifts; you can see some of my personal favorites HERE…
But they also have a ton of awesome deals on appliances, tools, fitness equipment, electronics, and MORE.
Of course, I love being able to help you out with your shopping, sooooo…

What a great Giveaway! If I were to win your entry/contest for this $100 Sears Gift Card, to answer your question (I’ll answer both): 1.) Favorite Christmas memory: My very 1st Christmas last year…just married to my husband…we just had a blast opening gifts, eating breakfast, and spending the day together. Having married late in life (late 30’s) it meant the world to share the holiday with a spouse. 2.) I’d use the $100 Gift Card to purchase A dutch oven to make meals in, and if there’s extra, a mini grilling tool-box for my hubby.

One of my favorite holiday memories is a tradition we had when I was little. We always had french toast for breakfast at Christmas, before opening presents. My mom is from Vermont, so it was one of the few times we got to have real maple syrup! Now, maple syrup and french toast remind me of Christmas all the time!! And now, that’s what we do every Christmas morning too!
Merry Christmas!

Same here. I am really behind this year with everything. We bought our tree two weeks ago started decorating and noticed the tree was dying -Big time. The nice people where we bought the tree did let us exchange for a new which was nice but now we have to redecorate. It’s been extremely busy. Haven’t even made a batch of cookies or decorated the inside of my house. Thank goodness for online shopping or I don’t think k I would have been able to get out to purchase gifts. 2 snowstorms and below negative temps doesn’t help. This week is crunch time. Baking, decorating and fit in some Holiday movies.

I don’t know if it’s my *favorite* memory, but it’s probably the most memorable holiday memory I have … When I was in 6th grade, my sister was born. She was about 6 weeks old, and my mom was feeding her. My brother was 8 at the time, and he liked to play with his “guys” in the tree. So my mom is telling him to be careful while feeding the baby, and of course he pulls the tree down on top of himself. My brother’s signature move whenever he got in trouble was to just go to sleep, so he immediately crawls on the couch and zonks out, while my mom stops feeding my sister and she and I try to get the tree upright. We do, and she goes back to feeding my sister while I get out the dirt devil to vacuum up the pine needles and broken ornaments. I had long hair, so naturally, as I’m leaning over vacuuming it got caught in the vacuum and sucks my hair straight up all the way to my scalp. Now my brother is sleeping, my sister is crying, I’m crying, and my poor mother has to try to get me free. She thought she was going to have to cut me out. Thank goodness she didn’t and we all survived, but let’s just say that was the last year we had a real tree ;)
