A few weeks ago, as I was doing the usual blog reading, I came across a survey on Presley’s blog, and made sure to bookmark it for another day. I love surveys; not just doing them myself, but also reading them. I feel like it can give you some good insights into a person, in a fairly short amount of time. Plus, they’re usually bulletted or easy to read, which is always an A+ in my book.
So here’s my stab at the survey!
Lately I’ve Been…
Making: yogurt bowls with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and granola. I looooove berries right now!
Cooking: Green beans. Like, a lot of them. Have you guys noticed that lately in my weekly meal plan posts?
Drinking: Cookie dough iced coffees…ob-sessed. Just 1-2 pumps of the syrup + skim milk in a medium and I’m good to go.
Reading: It’s actually been a while since I opened up my kindle reader, but the book I currently have going is Miramont’s Ghost. I think I’m only, like, two chapters in, and honestly, can’t even remember much of what I already read. Oops.
Wanting: Toned arms like Jessica Biel (or whole body, for that matter) but without having to do all the extra work or worry about my diet. I just want to keep doing what I’m doing and have them magically appear.
That’s not so much to ask, is it?
Looking: forward to a beach vacation at the end of June!
He was so little last year!
Playing: Softball!
Wasting: Time on social media. I really need to work on shutting things down earlier in the evenings…
Sewing: Can’t say much for this one…I’m with Presley, I should really learn how to do this well.
Wishing: To win the lotto. I’m sure I’m not the only one out there, right?
Enjoying: Our last days here in our home. I’m pretty sure I’ve shed at least a tear or two everyday for the past week. I’m such a sap!
Waiting: for Lucas to be able to say “I Love You.” I think we’ve still got a ways to go, but I just cannot wait to hear those words from him…assuming he loves me and all.
Liking: Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter. It smells sooooooo good!
Wondering: what it’s going to be like living with friends. We love us some Kanika and Shaheen and their sweet daughter Kaura, and I have no doubt that we’re going to have some fun while we’re all living under the same roof. Hopefully they deal well with our shenanigans.
Loving: all of the beautiful weather we’ve been having. 70s-80s with bright sun? I’ll take it! (granted, we do need some rain…badly).
Hoping: That Cody will adjust okay to staying with my in-laws while we live with friends for a couple of months. Our friends have two cats who aren’t all that friendly to outsider animals (same goes for my parents’ cat), so we’re hoping that Cody will be okay with my in-laws. They also have a cat, but they’re both usually pretty chill, so fingers crossed it all goes well. I’m gonna miss my Cody…
Needing: to book a massage. I have two deep-tissues that are already pre-paid for, thanks to a package I purchased a couple of months ago. It’s just finding the time to actually go in for one…but oh man, do I need one badly!
Wearing: my new Stitch Fix jeans. Looooove them!
Following: Too much. I really need to cut back because I could be SO much more efficient with my time if I did!
Noticing: Just how differently I’ve begun to view health, food, and fitness over the past year. I was just recently looking through some more older posts on the blog and thought, wow, I can’t believe my mentality used to be like that? It’s all for the better, that’s for sure. I’m in a MUCH happier, better place.
Knowing: how lucky I am to have such an amazing family and fabulous friends. At the end of the day, that’s what really matters, above and beyond everything else.
throwback photo to Christmas two years ago when we surprised them all with our pregnancy announcement!
Thinking: We’re probably going to have to eat takeout dinners for the majority of next week. I’m actually not too sad about it. Bring on the Chipotle! Or maybe even some BK?
Feeling: Nervous. Moving apparently makes me anxious. I feel like I’m either going to leave something behind, lose something, break something…or who else knows.
Bookmarking: All. the. house. things. on Pinterest. I cannot stop!
Opening: emails. I let things get a little hectic for a few days there…
Now let’s hear from you guys! Go ahead and pick one/some/any/all of the things mentioned above and leave ‘em below! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got happening
loving…the small stuff as I KNOW Ill look back and see it was SO SO SO THE BIG STUFF.
loving all the berries! Reading The Skimm religiously. Excited for our summer vacation, too! And yes, Jessica’s arms!
That coconut body butter looks gooood! I need to give it a try!
The narcissist in me thinks that my son’s first words will be “I love you” because that is what I repeat to him over and over and over again all day long! Haha.
I can’t believe how much Lucas has grown in just a year!
cooking: crockpot lasagna! i made it once for when my friend was in town and have been eating the leftovers and i made it the very next day to take to my grandparents’ for dinner and leave them the leftovers! always a hit!
Wearing- work clothes, eating overnight oats in a cookie butter jar ;) Too delicious! Poor Cody! I hope he adjusts well. I can’t imagine my cat not being with us for a few months! How’d you decide to live with friends instead of your family?? Hopefully the house comes together very quickly and it’s not too long until you move in :)
Our friends have a lot of extra space in their home so Jay and I will be able to have our own room and bathroom and Lucas will be able to have his own room too. Things would have been pretty cramped if we stayed with family (although we’ll be spending weekends there occasionally for sure!). Here’s to hoping for a VERY QUICK couple of months ;-)
Feeling: Excited & anxious for our move back to New York City!!
I have been learning how to sew, I want to be good at it. the possibilities are endless!
He will say ‘I love you’ soon. I think Mason started saying it around 2 & it is the best thing! It is amazing how much he says now compared to a year ago when I sit here and think about it.
We are worried about our cat in the move too. My in laws have a dog that may or may not eat the cat. We may have to find another home for her for a bit.
Moving is stressful – just keep telling yourself that it will be over in a few months lol
Fun survey!
Now that the warm weather is finally here, I’ve been making smoothies everyday for breakfast.
I’ve also been loving this warm weather and getting the babies out for walks.
I’ve been wishing I could be a stay at home mom. I miss the babes like crazy during the day and feel like I’m missing out on so much not being with them.
Loving all the fresh produce and that farmers markets are right around the corner!
And loving this survey,I may have to borrow it :)
Have a great day!!!
Living without your kitty will be rough. I had to send my cat, Jane, to live with my parents back in 2007, because I couldn’t keep her. And then in 2009, after I had her back (plus another cat!), I had to send my other cat to live with them, because he had too much energy for my dorm, and was attacking Jane. He now loves my dad more than me. *sigh*
I’m WAITING on my vacation. 158 days until the Girlfriend’s Disney Cruise to Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay on the Disney Magic. It can’t come soon. enough!
Currently, I’m excited to leave on a trip to Florida tomorrow to see family and attend a wedding! I’m also wishing I had those same weight jeans from your Fix, but of course, it would be too hot to wear them on my trip. I always enjoy a good survey, Courtney. Hope you have a great day!
i’m SO with you on the toned arms like JB thing! gah she’s basically my body inspiration — love how athletic and fit and amazing she looks, and my arms drive me nutso. :)
That same exact yogurt bowl is one of my very favorite breakfasts in all the land!
This is a fun survey! Good luck with moving, I know how stressful that can be. Also, I think you’ll enjoy living with friends! Not many people know this, but Scott and I have a roommate right now. We had an empty guest room, and a friend of ours needed a room, so it’s been nice having extra company (and rent money!) for a little while. Plus, when her boyfriend comes over… it’s pretty much an instant dinner or wine party. So fun!
I think you will love living with your friends. We have done it twice – one of my best friends lived with us for several months while she renovated her house and more recently we lived with my brother-in-law and his family when we moved to a new city before we bought our home. It will be trying at times, but it’s a great bonding time with your friends. Plus, once you move into your house, you will savor having your own space so much more. It makes you appreciate your surroundings more and take the focus off of “things.”
Hi Courtney,
I just wanted to say it’s been really great watching your eating evolve over the last year+. You seem to have found a lot more freedom with it, and you have never looked better (in my opinion!) :)
PS Your arms are super toned! You are an inspiration, thanks for sharing parts of yourself with us.
Take good care,
Melissa
When is the big move?? Exciting! I imagine the day that Lucas says he loves you you’ll just melt into a thousand pieces :)
I am also needing to book a massage, badly. But I want to find the perfect day where I don’t have to run around a bunch after
Love this! It’s so fun to get a little peak into your life :) That beach vacation will be sooo fun!
I play the Powerball every week and somehow I never win… what is up with that? ;)
So funny that you are reading Miramont’s Ghost – I just finished it! I had a hard time getting into it at first too…and honestly it wasn’t really my favorite, so don’t feel too bad if you end up dropping it :) AND for real that TJ’s body butter smells like straight up frosting. I have to consciously tell myself not to dip my finger in and give it a taste haha!
Loving berries and smoothies, can’t get enough of either lately.
Green beans are the one vegetable I can get all 4 kids to eat without a fight so we have them a lot.
I’ve been loving yogurt bowls lately too especially with all the fresh berries. Oh & you just wait until Lucas saying “I love you” the first time my little guy said it a few months ago I just cried happy tears haha! Even though it sounds more like “I LOBE YOU”!
Awwwww, yay!! I love it (or, rather, I LOBE it!) ;)
I usually do not like yogurt, but your bowl has me craving some! Maybe I will give it a shot soon.
Yum literally, to EVERYTHING!!!!
Not to be a debbie, but I was sooo disappointed in Miramont’s ghost- I thought the ending was horrible! If you need a good book, JoJo Moyes “The Girl you Left Behind” is PHENOMENAL! Loved every second of it. :)
Just did this survey on my own blog. What a fun post! I love learning about my favorite bloggers… not to mention, your cat is absolutely adorable!
