I don’t even know where to begin…
But I’ll get to that in a second.
Good morning, friends! Happy weekend! Is everyone getting their weekend kicked off on a healthy note?
I was up a little earlier than normal for a Saturday since Jay had to be up and out early for a golf tournament. I knew I could have slept in way longer if I let myself, but knowing that today is going to be another beautiful day, I figured I’d get up and embrace it.
Before anything, I decided start my day with some yoga. Seriously…I’m actually starting to crave it now, which is crazy to me. Today’s yoga of choice was the element 30 minute AM session.
I received this DVD in my swag bag from the Fitness Magazine Meet & Tweet event last month so I figured I’d give it a shot. Honestly, the DVD was a little slow for me and is definitely geared more towards beginners. If you’re new to yoga and not quite sure on many of the poses, this would be a great one for you to try. The instructor, I thought, did a wonderful job really explaining each of the poses which would be extremely helpful for just starting out.
Either way, even though it wasn’t quite as challenging of a session, it still felt great to stretch out my muscles. I’m actually feeling a bit tight from my walk yesterday, which I figured out was just shy of 4 miles…who knew?
Speaking of which…
Fun little fact: My husband is obsessed with thinking that he sees UFO’s. True story. At first I thought he was being funny, but I really think he’s serious. After I posted this picture yesterday, can you guess what kind of response I got?
Yep. He says it’s a UFO. According to him, “planes wouldn’t fly that low!”
Gosh, I love him. (and I swear, he’s really not crazy)

So as soon as I finished up yoga this morning, I headed straight to the kitchen for breakfast. I’ve had ants in my pants for the last three days to finally try out my latest new purchase…and today was the day.
You guys. These Kodiak Cakes are incredible. Dare I even say…life changing?
The fact that you only add water is a plus on its own, but to have them taste incredible on top of that? Oh.my.word.
I included some chia seeds in my batter today, along with some banana slices that I let cook right into the pancakes, and topped them all with some more banana slices, peanut butter, and a drizzle of sugar-free syrup.
Welcome to my new favorite breakfast.
Now let’s just hope they hold me over a bit longer than regular pancakes do.
As soon as I hit publish on this post, I’m headed down to the Farmers Market (finally!) to hopefully find some goodies, and then I’m even debating on getting a pedicure because, well, I want to.
Happy Saturday!!
