I don’t even know where to begin…
But I’ll get to that in a second.
Good morning, friends! Happy weekend! Is everyone getting their weekend kicked off on a healthy note?
I was up a little earlier than normal for a Saturday since Jay had to be up and out early for a golf tournament. I knew I could have slept in way longer if I let myself, but knowing that today is going to be another beautiful day, I figured I’d get up and embrace it.
Before anything, I decided start my day with some yoga. Seriously…I’m actually starting to crave it now, which is crazy to me. Today’s yoga of choice was the element 30 minute AM session.
I received this DVD in my swag bag from the Fitness Magazine Meet & Tweet event last month so I figured I’d give it a shot. Honestly, the DVD was a little slow for me and is definitely geared more towards beginners. If you’re new to yoga and not quite sure on many of the poses, this would be a great one for you to try. The instructor, I thought, did a wonderful job really explaining each of the poses which would be extremely helpful for just starting out.
Either way, even though it wasn’t quite as challenging of a session, it still felt great to stretch out my muscles. I’m actually feeling a bit tight from my walk yesterday, which I figured out was just shy of 4 miles…who knew?
Speaking of which…
Fun little fact: My husband is obsessed with thinking that he sees UFO’s. True story. At first I thought he was being funny, but I really think he’s serious. After I posted this picture yesterday, can you guess what kind of response I got?
Yep. He says it’s a UFO. According to him, “planes wouldn’t fly that low!”
Gosh, I love him. (and I swear, he’s really not crazy)

So as soon as I finished up yoga this morning, I headed straight to the kitchen for breakfast. I’ve had ants in my pants for the last three days to finally try out my latest new purchase…and today was the day.
You guys. These Kodiak Cakes are incredible. Dare I even say…life changing?
The fact that you only add water is a plus on its own, but to have them taste incredible on top of that? Oh.my.word.
I included some chia seeds in my batter today, along with some banana slices that I let cook right into the pancakes, and topped them all with some more banana slices, peanut butter, and a drizzle of sugar-free syrup.
Welcome to my new favorite breakfast.
Now let’s just hope they hold me over a bit longer than regular pancakes do.
As soon as I hit publish on this post, I’m headed down to the Farmers Market (finally!) to hopefully find some goodies, and then I’m even debating on getting a pedicure because, well, I want to.
Happy Saturday!!
Haha love that he even noticed that in the picture! And that yoga DVD looks like it would be a good one for me to try – I still need all the help I can get :)
Can you please bring me that plate of pancakes right now??? They look so fluffy and I swear I can taste them through the computer.
Those pancakes look absolutely incredible! The combo of pancakes and banana is my absolute favorite!
My husband is the same way! He also truly believes in ghosts. I don’t even know what to say to defend him… haha
Those DO look life changing…. I will have to take a look into getting some!

I am dying to try Kodiak Pancakes – I have heard they are simply the best mix! Your rave review makes me want to run to target to buy the mix haha.
Kodiak cakes are the BEST! I fell in love with them about a year or so ago and I’m currently out. Thankfully I found out Target just started selling them (!!!) so I’ll be restocking shortly!
And yes, craving yoga is amazing! When I get out of the habit, I tend to forget just how amazing it is but then when I do it, I’m reminded of how wonderful it is for both my mind and body and find myself craving it everyday. :)
Those pancakes look like my kind of breakfast!!! I want Kodiak cakes!!!
I have that very same yoga DVD and I agree, it’s rather gentle (and not long enough for me), but some days it’s all I have time for!
Love the pancake breakfast; where can I find Kodiak?
Target!!
Getting a pedicure right now, and I am using the time to catch up on your blog.
Those pancakes look so good…they are my favourite thing ever. The addition of bananas look fantastic!
Oh gosh, now I’m going to have to go out and buy kodiak cakes. Then, I will most likely get addicted and go broke. Ha-ha :D
Whoa….those are some De-licious looking pancakes! I am going to have to check to see if my Target carries them because they are now on my must try list!!
Those look AMAZING!
looks delicious! pancakes are a great way to start the day! :)
OMG those pancakes look like they’re to die for! May have to give the recipe a try next week!
I love pancakes! These look delicious and easy if you only have to add water. Mmmm…! Getting a pedicure just because you want to is a fine reason for doing so – hope you did! :)
I’m with ya on the yoga craving! Oh and your pancakes? Yea, they look BOMB. I have a feeling you’d also join me in my love for these waffles I’ve been making almost every weekend…
Haha, that’s hilarious about the UFO thing because when I was like 13-14 I was so obsessed with UFO’s and always claimed I saw them anywhere we went, I was nutty. Those pancakes look so fluffy! I want them.
I love that your husband spotted the UFO. So funny. And I love your reason to get a pedicure! “Just because you want to” is always the best reason! Treat yo self :)
