May Stitch Fix Review

By Courtney 44 Comments

I’ve totally been lacking in the fashion posts lately, haven’t I? Turns out, it’s kind of difficult to post fashion stuff and outfits when half of your stuff is packed up and your house sort of looks like a bomb went off in it…

BUT, I’m switching things up today because I just recently got a new Stitch Fix in the mail last week, so you know I have to share it with you all!

In case you’re new to Stitch Fix and how it works, you can read all about it in my first post about the service, HERE.

May Stitch Fix

I took the month of April off, partially because there really wasn’t anything I needed, and also because my fixes had been sort of so-so. I was excited to see what new items were in store for me this month though, and overall, I’d say they did pretty good this time! Here’s a look at what I got and what I decided to do with it…

KUT FROM THE KLOTH Kate Boyfriend Jean – $78.00

(similar, similar, similar, similar)

As soon as I saw that I had a pair of white denim jeans in my fix, I was pumped. And then when I saw they were boyfriend fit, I was almost immediately sold. I love that they’re not super tight (especially being white) but still fitted enough to not look sloppy. They are ridiculously comfy and I can already see myself wearing these all spring/summer long.

So if you couldn’t already tell…Keep it!

BRIXON IVY Priya Abstract Floral Print Knit Back Tank – $48.00

BRIXON IVY Priya Abstract Floral Print Knit Back Tank BRIXON IVY Priya Abstract Floral Print Knit Back Tank

I loved the bright colors of this top as soon as I pulled it out of the box. The fabric is nice and light, making it perfect for layering or just wearing as-is in the warmer weather.

I played around a bit with having it tucked in a bit or just left hanging out and I like it both ways (I’ve actually been really in to half tucking in my shirts these days). As of right now, I’m still a little on the fence (partially because I know I wouldn’t pay that price if I was looking at this in the store), but most likely, I’ll keep it since I have some credit left over.

SWEET RAIN Chrissy V-Neck Blouse – $38.00

SWEET RAIN Chrissy V-Neck Blouse SWEET RAIN Chrissy V-Neck Blouse IMG_1910

Again, I loved the bright colors of this top, but the fit just wasn’t right. It just sort of “hung” on me, and was a bit too boxy/short for my liking. Return.

ZAD Veronica Layered Metal Cuff – $32.00

(similar)

I was actually surprised they sent me a bracelet, since I’m pretty sure I had that checked off on my style profile. But honestly, I’m really glad they did because I love this one! It’s simple, but makes a statement, and I think it’ll be a great way to dress up a basic outfit a bit more.

ZAD Veronica Layered Metal Cuff

Definitely going to keep it!

BRIXON IVY Lex Textured Floral Knit Fit & Flare Dress – $74.00

(similar, similar, similar)

Ohhh, this dress. It was so pretty and the fabric was wicked comfortable, but I’m just not sure I’d get enough use out of it to justify keeping it. I could definitely wear it to work, but I honestly don’t dress up that much for my day to day work, and I don’t really have any events coming up where I’d even need anything like it.

I hate to say goodbye to it, but ultimately, I just don’t think it’d be worth the investment. So, I think it’s going to be a return.

So there’s a look at my recent fix! Feel free to check out any of my previous fixes, in case you’re new to the service and want to see what other kinds of styles they have to offer. As of right now, I’m thinking I’ll keep the white jeans, the cuff bracelet, and possibly the floral top…what do you guys think? Winking smile

Cute! But stitchfix seems incredibly overpriced.. Every time I go to marshalls/tjmaxx they have tons of pairs of jeans by that kut from the Kloth brand for under $20

LOVE that floral top and white jeans! I would definitely keep those, and the bracelet is nice too. I find I don't wear many bracelets (or much jewelry in general) in the summer months but that one is definitely versatile enough to keep. I love the cutout in that blue tank top, but I agree with you that it should be longer and better fitting. That dress is nice too, but I agree with you - I'd probably return it as well. You look great in the fit and flare style - it just never really works for me.

I usually don't wear too many bracelets either, but I feel like this one won't be as annoying as some others? Haha, we'll see if I feel the same way after wearing it for a full day!

Agree 100% with your choices. Keep the floral tank, bracelet, and white jeans. White jeans are an absolute staple for me in the spring and summer. I don't know what I'd do without them, I wear them so much!

To be honest, I'd keep the dress and return the top! You always dress up your tops so nicely with accessories and this dress looks AWESOME. Maybe a house-warming barbeque?? It's getting hot, so this would be okay with just flats to go run errands with Lucas! Plus, those heels match it pretty perfectly. I think it's a sign ;)

I agree with all your decisions! The dress IS very cute, though. Sure you don't have any backyard parties to attend soon? ;) I'm with you on the "so-so" Stitch Fixes lately. I honestly used to feel like I got some really cute stuff that was great for adding some spice to the wardrobe I'M always curating, But for the past few months, all the the things I've gotten have seemed very "last year" and not aligned with what I've said I wanted in my style profile (and pieces way pricier than they should be!). It makes me sad, because I used to get excited about it!

Love the white jeans and that bracelet - good picks! Ironically, I just got my most recent Fix a few weeks ago and it had the same dress. I actually wasn't sure about it, but ended up keeping it because I loved everything else, so it was basically free... or at least that's what I told myself :) I have a casual wedding coming up in June so it may make an appearance then, but I'm sorta glad I kept it with all the positive feedback on it in the comments here!

I guess I'm in the minority because I don't like the dress and would totally return it. However, it looks great on you (great fit), but I don't like the color/pattern. The white jeans and bracelet are FOR SURE keepers! The floral tank is not my style (I don't wear floral print much at all), but it fits you well and looks really cute with the jeans, so I say keep that, too. So basically, what I'm saying is, I totally agree with your choices. lol.
