Well hey, looks like we all survived April Fools’ Day! I saw/heard a few good pranks throughout the day, but I was on high alert so I didn’t wind up falling for any. There were a couple food related ones that I saw though, that made me totally cringe…i.e., using mayonnaise as “pudding” topped with sprinkles, and and filling Oreos with toothpaste. Oh mannn…I was would be suuuuuuper PO’d if that happened to me! Nobody messes with an Oreo, right??
So I actually wasn’t planning on posting today because I hadn’t had anything planned, but I found myself with a little extra time yesterday evening after a certain toddler didn’t wind up napping at all during the day and was more than ready for bed by 7pm (it’s been more like 8pm these days). And here we are!
Yesterday was one of those days where I just really needed to get out of the office for a bit. End of the month can get pretty busy for me, and after staring at my computer screen for the whole morning, I knew I needed a little fresh air and sunlight. So I actually headed out on my lunch hour for a quick trip to Old Navy.
By the way, you guys all had some amazing recommendations on shorts from Friday, so thank you all for that! I’m planning on checking out the LOFT the next time they’re having one of their awesome sales (Sarah, Kanika…I’m counting on you two to let me know!), since it sounds like a lot of you love ‘em from there. But for now, I actually ended up finding a couple of pairs at Old Navy, too.
Despite the fact that the length is a bit shorter than I thought I’d want, I left the store with a pair of these boyfriend cuffed denim shorts, and these black linen shorts. You guys, the linen shorts? Freakin’ awesome. I bought a pair last year in olive green and they were the most comfortable things EVER. I knew buying them in black would be ideal so they’ll match more easily, and I have a feeling they will wind up being a weekend staple for me this summer. LOVE.
I also bought this ribbon-trim sleeveless top in the two colors below because, well, when I find a top I like, I tend to try to get as many as possible apparently. The tops fit great (loose, but not baggy) and will be perfect for work, weekends, and layering. Score!
Another shirt I bought in two colors (see, I wasn’t kidding) was this split-neck pocket tee. Again, loose fitting, and definitely something I’ll throw on once I got home from work or wear on weekends. Casual without being sloppy, and will look great with denim or my wicked comfy linen shorts up there. I also think it’d look cute layered with a denim jacket or paired with simple white bottoms, too.
I was also pretty close to buying this split-neck pullover in white, even though I never would have pinned it for a shirt I’d like by looking at it on the model online. Unfortunately, the medium was too big and the XS fit funny…and of course, they were out of smalls. I guess I’ll just have to go back with the super cash I earned, because I’ve also got my eye on this tank too. You really just can’t beat those Old Navy prices, ya know?!
How about you guys? Have you made any fun, spring fashion purchases lately?
Alright, looks like Modern Family is about to come on TV and I have a bowl of Nestle Crunch Eggs that are calling my name…
