I think my Stitch Fix posts are some of my favorite posts to share! Maybe it’s because they’re some of my favorite to read, but I really do have fun putting them together…and, of course, receiving them.
Something very interesting happened with my fix this month, which I honestly didn’t realize until I went to type up this post. As it turns out, after seeing the pictures of them, I started questioning some of the items I decided to return – and I just mailed them back yesterday. Go figure?!
In case you’re new to Stitch Fix and how it works, you can read all about it in my first post about the service, HERE.
For this fix, I left a note for my stylist to try and include any/all of the following: a chunky open cardigan, bootcut dark-wash jeans, black dress pants, a plaid top, and a new top I could wear for work. And here’s what they sent!
Just Black Serena Flare Jean – $88.00
These jeans were basically everything that I asked for…but I didn’t keep them. They were just a teeeeny bit too snug, and they weren’t very comfortable with the sit-down test. I’m sure they would have stretched a bit, but I couldn’t bank on it so, return.
Laila Jayde Salderas Hooded Cardigan – $64.00
I really need to start taking better pics for my Stitch Fix posts because my iPhone definitely doesn’t do this sweater’s color justice. It’s a beautiful, deep purple, which I loved – something different from my usual go-to’s of black/white/gray. I like how it’s long and cozy but the back is a normal length. I love the extra hood detail, and as an extra bonus, the sleeves are nice and long.
This one was a keeper!
RD Style Analisa Twisted Seam Mixed Knit Sweater – $68.00
Okay, so when I tried this sweater on in person, I just wasn’t feelin’ it. It was boxy and I didn’t totally love how it was shorter in the front (chunky sweaters should be long and cozy, with long sleeves, in my opinion). I really love the idea of this sweater (the color block, the actual colors), and now that I’m looking at pics, it doesn’t really seem that bad?! But for the price, I’d need to make sure I really did love it, so it was return.
Pixley Kindley Henley Blouse – $68.00
When I asked for a plaid top in my fix, I guess I should have clarified that I was looking for a flannel, plaid top. Since they didn’t send flannel, I guess I was a little disappointed after seeing it out of the box, and I’m wondering now if that masked my true opinion of the shirt. Because now I’m looking at it and thinking, ok, it’s pretty cute! But too bad for me, I already returned it. Darn it!
Loveappella Berni Lace Detail Knit Top – $54.00
I immediately loved this top right out of the box for it’s bright blue color and beautiful lace detailing. The fabric is super soft and stretchy, and it’s absolutely a top I could dress up for work or dress down with jeans. The price is a bit more than I’d spend if I were shopping, say, at Target, but I had some credits left on my account so I justified the price.
Whether or not it should be work with a strapless bra or not (because of the lace details) I have no idea, but I don’t do strapless bras (noooo thanks), so I’ll be sporting it with straps.
And since you already saw me wear this yesterday, you know it was a keeper!
So there’s the October fix! Two keepers, three returns.
So what do you guys think?! Have you tried Stitch Fix lately?
What a great fix! I feel like your fix was fall in a wardrobe. The plaid shirt was super cute. But there are so many options you’re sure to find another!
You received such cute items! I especially love that purple sweater. I haven’t gotten a fix in a while, they had been mainly misses instead of hits, so I have been taking a break. I want to sign up for another one soon though!
Girl, you rock those straps! ;) But honestly, I don’t think they’re really noticeable unless you go LOOKING for them. I really like that cream colored sweater! I’m in need of some new sweaters this season but since I’m currently unemployed, that will have to wait. (PLUS, the job that I am CROSS MY FINGERS I WANT TO GET may mean that my money needs to go there to buy their clothing for work…FINGERS CROSSED! ;)
i like that chunky sweater and the plaid – but agree the price is a little high!
I love your sweater length test! If a long sleeve shirt or sweater doesn’t come to at least the middle of my hand, then I don’t need it in my life!
I love your stitch fix reviews!
Love the purple sweater! I got my fix last week and was so disappointed. Horrible options so much that I had to pick Hate It for each item when usually I say Love It too expensive or keeping. So bummed. You got some good keepers!
i so enjoy reading your Stitch Fix reviews, although i know this company definitely isn’t for me — it’s so fun to see what they send you and what you choose. my fave piece in that box was definitely the chunky mixed knit boxy sweater — i think it looked great on you and it’d be so cute over a bathing suit or with shorts when it gets chilly! i need to find something like that. :)
Love the blue top, I have two that have lace detail just like that and I wear both with bras with straps. I do have one top that I got from H&M where the pattern is a bit harder hide the straps and that one I wear with a strapless.
Love the hooded cardigan and lace detail top. The twisted seam sweater was a funky length and did not do your figure justice. BTW…where did you buy your white tank top? I’m in desperate need of one that is not completely see through! Thanks!
The plaid shirt was definitely cute on you! You’ll find another one like it though :)
Cute stuff in that fix! The plaid top is very cute but if what you’re wanting is flannel plaid, Old Navy has lots of them at a great price point. If you’re still having “returner’s remorse” I’ve also seen similar sweaters to that mixed knit one at LOFT (again, at a better price point). Love these reviews!
That purple cardigan looks super comfy.
I would keep everything on StichFix because I love everything you got and envy the idea of someone else shopping FOR me! :D
Also I’m stoked to see flare jeans!!! Skinny jeans are still , unfortunately , all the rage here in Europe and I’m over it. I want to bring the bootcut jeans BACK! :D
I have tried stitch fix three times and never kept anything. Even when I was extremely specific for my stylist I felt that my requests were not considered. I like the top you kept. I have a similar one from Loft and I wear a nude bra under. You have to look very closely to notice the straps, it is the perfect solution!
I think this is one of the best “fixes” as a whole that I’ve seen yet! I think I would’ve kept everything. You look super cute in it all!
I LOVE all of your choices! I also loved the plaid, it would have been cute in flannel but I like that it was a bit more feminine than most plaid shirts. I’m sure you will find an even better one though!
Ooooh that purple sweater is so pretty & looks so comfy! Good choice on keeping it for sure.
I love seeing what you get from the StitchFix box! The blue top is really lovely, I love that lace detail.
I love those sweaters and the jeans!! They all look great on you!
I actually had the opposite of what you experienced. I just got my latest fix and made the mistake of keeping items I probably should have returned. There was a green top that was nice, but I’m thinking I might not wear it after all. There was also a nice sweater that the material was a little bothersome (still kept it…should’ve returned it). I realized after I washed it it was 10% angora. I’m highly allergic to wool and angora falls under the wool category for me. I hate that I wasted money on something I probably won’t end up wearing. My own fault for waiting until the 11th hour to confirm whether or not I was keeping or returning.
Hope you have better luck on your next fix.
