Alright, so we’re almost through the entire first month of 2015. How we’re here already is beyond me, but it is what it is (and, ahem, we’re just that much closer to a birthday!). I have no doubt that there are many of you who started out this month/year with some grand plans and goals in mind…
I’m hitting the gym “x” number of times a week!
Totally cleaning up my eats!
No. More. Sugar.
Working on increasing my strength!
I want to run a (enter length of race here) this year!
A new year leaves us with a sense of excitement and rejuvenation; we feel we have the power to begin something new and, hopefully, something that will impact us for the better. Then, more often than not, LIFE HAPPENS. Work gets crazy, kids get sick, parties come up where there’s plenty of sugar to go around, and maybe you’ve had just a few more glasses of wine than you know you should. Whoops.
Sometimes, however, all we need is a little kick in the behind to jumpstart that motivation again. And when it comes to your health and fitness goals, Sears is ready to help with the relaunch of FitStudio.com – a free, one-stop fitness destination and rewards platform.
FitStudio.com simplifies the process of researching equipment and gear via video reviews and ratings, provides Shop Your Way members and customers with resources to get and stay fit through free workouts and articles on fitness and nutrition, and offers rewards for daily physical activity through the Points for Progress program and #Achieve15 fitness tips (see more info below!).
So after spending a fair amount of time on the FitStudio site, I think it’s safe to say we can break it down into three categories: Personal Fitness Goals/Tracking, Gear Reviews, and Getting Fit.
*****************
Personal Goals/Tracking
FitStudio allows you to connect your apps and devices to track all of your progress in one place (i.e., think Fitbit, Jawbone, etc.) set fitness goals via the “goals center,” and track fitness progress through the workout tracker and dashboard.
But more than that, Sears created a fitness rewards program called Points for Progress, as a way to give members that further incentive to get healthy and stay fit.
To participate in Points for Progress, you register for FitStudio.com for free and automatically become a Shop Your Way member. Then, simply connect your fitness app or device, and track activity to earn Shop Your Way points that can be redeemed for merchandise in stores and online at Sears and Kmart.
Almost all activity on FitStudio.com earns members Shop Your Way points, including:
- Connect with FitStudio.com: Sign up, connect an app or device and complete a profile.
- Get Active: Walk or run two miles per day, and burn 200 calories per day.
- Socialize: Share your fitness progress and share FitStudio.com content on social media.

Gear Reviews
If you or your significant other are anything like my husband, you will absolutely appreciate this feature. Anytime we are going to invest in anything, my husband will research the crap out of it and read any and all reviews he can find.
As part of the updated user experience, FitStudio.com has new gear reviews and ratings for each piece of equipment based on performance, console, comfort, features and value – culminating in an overall score.
In addition, every review includes a video testimonial that shares “cool tip callouts” that highlight unique features.
Member and customer ratings are also listed to help potential buyers make an informed purchasing decision which, as a consumer, I can very much appreciate.
And of course, Sears has all of the top brands including NordicTrack (exclusively), Life Fitness, AFG, ProForm and more, with the lowest prices guaranteed.
*Jay and I bought our NordicTrack treadmill from Sears back in 2010 and we still love it to this day!
FitStudio.com also has a new personalized Deal of the Day feature, which allows members to select the type of gear or equipment they are shopping for, and a Deal of the Day for that item will be loaded into their Shop Your Way account.
The deals can be coupled with the points earned for working out, allowing members to get the best deal possible.
Members can receive one new deal a day, but the offer must be redeemed within seven days.

Getting Fit
This final feature of the new FitStudio.com really impressed me with the amount of information they offer.
Once you’ve created an account, you’re given access to a number of exclusive workouts, exercises, and programs, which include everything from completing your first 5K to a “Better Beach Body.”
Out of the exercises and workouts that are available, I came across a number of them that not only looked extremely well-thought out, but also fun and entertaining too (the Shopping Stamina Workout comes to mind!).

#Achieve15
I have one more thing to share with you all today! As part of the Points for Progress I told you about above, members can earn $5 in Shop Your Way points (5,000 points) by burning 1,500 calories or walking or running 15 miles in 2015.
To help members #Achieve15 and meet their goals to earn $5, FitStudio.com will issue #Achieve15 tips via social media throughout the month of January. The tips include everything from inspiration to keep members on track, to ideas for reaching goals to earn rewards, so be sure to follow along with the hashtag to see what’s happening!
Overall?
I would absolutely recommend you guys checking out (and signing up for!) the new FitStudio.com as a way to track your progress and hold yourself accountable, while having fun and potentially earning some rewards in the process.
Besides…I mean, who doesn’t love earning rewards for basically working out and bettering themselves? ;)

Nice review! I had no idea Sears offered this program. Anything that makes the path easier to get healthy is a win in my book. Have a great weekend!

I had No idea Sears did this, but I think it’s a great idea. It gives people a motivation to get up and move more for sure. I love the workout videos and reviews it gives you. My husband is all about the reviews and has to look them up for EVERYTHING!
