Hey, hey my friends! I’m popping in quick today with my Sears Blogger Squad hat on to share another fun, brand spankin’ new service that Sears is offering this holiday season called, Reserve It.
As I’m sure we can all attest, time is precious during the holiday season. I swear, there’s always something going on, from about mid-November until the beginning of January, right? And every year, I always somehow manage to fill up my calendar to the point where I end up wondering…what was I thinking?!
But in the end, I usually don’t regret any of it because of of the time, it’s something awesome. Like throwing a Christmas party with some of your closest pals…
And chowing down on all sorts of good food (because calories don’t count when consumed with friends around the holidays…ahem…).
And the baking? Oh, don’t even get me started. If only there were more hours in the day, I’d have my entire freezer stocked each year with cookies and other homemade goods to give to friends and family.
So like I said, whether it be a party, cooking, planning a gathering, figuring out gifts to buy for that special someone, or of course, shopping for those gifts, we’re busy. There’s no doubt about it.
With this in mind, Sears has recently launched their new service called Reserve It, which is basically the jam for when you need to save some of that precious time of yours.
Here’s how it works (and it’s super simple):
Let’s say you’re doing a little “window shopping” online in between baking a batch of cookies or on your lunch hour at work (we all do it, don’t lie), and you come across a super cute pair of boots. If you’re like me, you might get a little nervous about buying shoes before you try them so you think, hmmm, I think I want to try ‘em first.
- First, make sure you’ve created yourself a Shop Your Way account on Sears.com and you’ve select your local Sears store. Once you’re logged in, the assortment of products will automatically update to include items that are in-stock at that store.
- Click on those hot boots you’re eyeing and select “Reserve In Store.” You’ll receive an email notification when your items are ready to try on and Sears will hold your items for 48 hours.
- When you arrive at the store, head to the Reserve It rack located in the women’s apparel section and try your items on in-store. Then, once you decide that those hot boots are just the thing for you, you’d check out as you normally would.
Sears provided me with these photos to use so don’t worry…I wasn’t randomly snapping pics of strangers at the Reserve It rack.
Reserve It is cool because it combines the physical world of shopping, (i.e., sometimes it’s just nice to be able to touch, feel and try on something) with the digital world of ecommerce that allows you to shop whenever and wherever ya want.
And one of the reasons I love it so much is because I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen something online and thought, hmm okay, I want to go try that on in the store…only to find out it’s not in the store. Talk about a waste of time (and gas!)…
This video Sears put together also helps explain the process a bit more, and it’s kinda catch and cutesy to watch.
I will tell you guys that I have already tried out the Reserve It service once and I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to use. However, I can’t go into any more detail than that because I was using it to check out some potential Christmas gifts for a special someone who most likely will read this post at some point.
So what do ya think…is the Reserve It service something you think you’d try out this holiday season in an attempt to save some time?
What are some of your ways to save time during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season?
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post as part of my partnership with the Sears Blogger Squad, though all opinions are my own, as always!
Man, 2 back-to-back days of sponsored posts? =( Say it isn’t so!!
I know…I totally get what you’re saying, Jackie. I did such a bad job of planning this week and suddenly realized I had too many back to back deadlines. I’m sorry, I know they aren’t everyone’s favorite. Thank you so much for sticking with me though!
I would totally use this service. I have a little one that makes shopping a little bit difficult. If I could pick out items ahead of time and then go check them out it would be a lot easier!
Very nice service! Would totally use it is I was shopping at Sears. Thanks for sharing!
This is such a great, convenient idea! Kudos to Sears for coming up with it, and I’d love it if it caught on elsewhere, too!
What a cool idea! Gotta hand it to Sears for really investing in their technology, innovation, and reaching out to social media bloggers. Creative and smart! Also, don’t worried about the sponsored posts. :) You put way more effort into it that others so as to not be solely “salesy,” and I think you do a great job! You put a lot into this blog and no reason you shouldn’t get a bit back from that as well! Love your blog, love your style.
Thank you so much, Melissa! I really to try my best to keep things as real as possible, so that really means a lot. Have a great night! :)
I agree with Melissa. Bloggers get paid this way (and hey, it’s great pocket money when you’re on a strict budget like me). I don’t mind the sponsored posts from you at all, because you’re quite natural at it – and it flows exactly the same as it would on a non-sponsored post.
Thanks, Nancy! :)
This is a great idea! Except, I would be afraid that I would “reserve” one item and then walk out with four or five…whoops! :) Also, don’t worry about the sponsored posts, I actually prefer learning about products or services from real people as opposed to traditional ads!
That’s such a great idea! I’m not a fan of shopping in stores (too.many.people!), but am great at shopping online. I do find that sometimes my expectations aren’t met, though, and know that if I had seen it in person first I would have passed on it. This is a great combination without commiting to buying it.
I’m not sure that I’ve ever commented here before so hi! I just wanted to say that your sponsored posts bother me much, much less than any other bloggers (and I read ALOT of blogs). Your tone is very natural, and I don’t feel like you’re trying to shove something down my throat. And I appreciate your transparency about being behind in meeting your deadlines. Definitely something I’m sure most of us can relate to! Keep doing what you’re doing because you’re doing it well.
100% agree! You put more effort into your sponsored posts and it makes them so much easier to read than if you were simply regurgitating info that could have come straight from a company’s website or brochure. Keep it up! :-)
Thank you so much, Bonnie!!
That is so very much appreciated Priscilla, thank you!!
Definitely! That sounds amazing. I had no idea Sears had this. I am going to head over to their site now and check it out. Thanks for sharing this.
