I’ll tell you guys…when it comes to shopping for any of the men in my life – whether it be for a birthday, Christmas, or Father’s Day – they really are NOT easy.
I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but I swear, any of the important men in my life just always seem to have what they need/want. And when there actually is something that they need, then they just go out and buy it.
They’re very no frills. They do things like just request delicious breakfasts or dinners and they’re happy. They have no fancy wish lists. And they really do a good job at making it hard to shop for them. Thanks, guys.
I’d say that my dad may be the worst, but my husband is definitely a close second, if not equal. So with Father’s Day right around the corner, I’ve been trying my hardest to think of something for Jay ahead of time (since the whole new baby thing is likely going to be keeping me quite occupied!). Jay is just the most amazing father and he deserves way more than I’ll ever be able to come up with or give him. Seeing him with Lucas just lights up my life, and I’m just so excited to see him with our other little guy (in just a couple short days!)
Thankfully, the folks at Sears (who is sponsoring this post!) stepped in and gave me the opportunity to bring Jay for a little early Father’s Day shopping spree! I surprised him with this over the weekend and told him he needed to at least come up with a mini wish list of 3-5 things that he’d want from Sears (I still have a couple of other ideas up my sleeve). And being the guy that he is, it started with an “I don’t really know?” and then followed with a “maybe I should look online?” Sure babe, you got it.
So he browsed around on Sears.com for a while, with his little sidekick in tow. And eventually, he came up with a short list of things he thought would be good:
- A nail gun
- Garage storage units or a storage shed
- New shirts
So practical. Talk about a list, right? Yeah, they sure thought it was funny.
Well, the guy does need new shirts, so I told him he should start with looking at those. But then he decided that our garage could really use a little more TLC right now (which is true…it’s a disaster if you guys remember), so he spent some time browsing a bit more through their garage wall storage to try and find some ideas to hang some of the crap all over our floors right now.
And actually, he was really excited to come across these Gladiator GearTrack® Heavy-Duty Channels and accessories which made ME excited to see HIM excited.
Know what I mean?
So right now, it looks like we’ll be becoming the owners of some new garage storage, which will be super helpful in getting our garage a bit more tidy while we wait to buy/find a storage shed (they aren’t cheap!). And I’ll admit, they are kinda cool.
But since this is really more of a “house” gift and not a “him” gift, I’ll be taking care of that with something else. As soon as I figure it out.
Hopefully for you guys, the father figures in your life are maybe a little easier to shop for?! But regardless of how picky they may or may not be, Sears still has TONS of great gift ideas for all sorts of dads out there…
