Special Delivery

**Don’t forget to enter my Exercise TV GIVEAWAY! You have until next Tuesday to enter!**

Who doesn’t love getting packages in the mail? I mean, I was already in a great mood last night, after returning home from our double move date night. But when I approached the door and found a fun package waiting for me, it made the night 10 times better! Look at what just so happened to show up at my house…

Alternative Bagels!!!

The fantastic goodies came from the super sweet Holly @ Greek Yogurt and Apple Slices. Holly — THANK YOU SO MUCH GIRLFRIEND! Isn’t she great?? Holly, I’m hugging my computer screen right now in honor of sending you hugs way down to Orlando. ;)

So as you can imagine, my breakfast decision was easily made for me — love that.

I enjoyed one of my new bagels, lightly toasted, topped with some BB & banana slices. Sorry about the banana guys, it was on it’s last leg and I didn’t want it to go to waste. It’s ugly, but it tasted fab.

I also enjoyed a ripe, juicy peach…

…and a glass of iced coffee with skim milk (courtesy of the hubby’s preparation last night) :)

Speaking of iced coffee — I was just recently reading in my latest edition of Food & Wine Magazine about Vietnamese-style iced coffee. Has anyone else ever heard of it? To make it, it says to stir 4-1/2 cups cold water into 1/2 lb. coarsely ground dark-roast coffee. Cover it and let it stand at room temperature for 24 hours, then strain it. (It says it can be refrigerated for up to 1 week.) I’m kind of interested in trying this method!

So I also have something else fun to share with you guys this morning! :)

Yesterday, I decided to go and treat myself to a manicure. I’ve been wanting to get one for weeks now, but just kept putting it off; until, that is, I heard about a NEW manicure that was available at the salon my Mom works at, Signatures Salon & Spa.

Signatures is a great salon (yes, I would still think so even if my Mom didn’t work there!) and offers a wide array of services, from hair, nails, skin, massage, waxing, & tanning. Actually, if you go to their “Services” page, you might see a familiar face! ;) Stephanie, the owner, is a super talented, Redken color specialist, so for any locals possibly looking for a new salon, this is your place! PLUS, July is Customer Appreciation Month, where you’ll get 25% off any “New to You” service. It’s a great deal!

Ok, so onto the new manicure I tried out yesterday. It’s a system called Shellac…have you heard of it?

According to the website, “The Shellac System features a Base Coat, Color Coat and Top Coat. Together with CND UV lamp they comprise the breakthrough in resilient color that remains flawless for 14-days and removes in 10 minutes.”

Well, with the amount of dishes I wash, manicures usually last me about a day…if I’m lucky. So I knew I had to give it a shot! As far as I know, Signatures Salon & Spa is the only location around me that offers this service, so I was psyched. The manicure started out with a base coat, followed by 2 coats of color, and then a top coat. In between each coat, you put your nails under the UV lamp to allow it to “dry.”

Pretty cute, right?!? I’m very eager to see if it lasts for the full 14 days that the company promises. We’ll see!

Alrighty, well I’m off to do some cleaning around the house — followed by some pool time! 8-)

Question of the Morning:

What’s the last fun package/piece of mail you received?

My last package was a purse from ShoeDazzle website. I'm like a kid when a package comes to the door. I've been dying to try that Shellac. The salon I work at doesn't do it though. Keep us posted if its worth it.

I love getting packages in the mail! The last awesome package I got was a box of NuNaturals NuStevia that I won on Marisa's blog. :) I've never had an Alternative Bagel. I used to see them in Publix when I lived in GA. Jenn
