I’m sure that I had some of you wondering if there was any baby news happening since I never got around to putting up my meal plan post yesterday. But, alas, there is no new babe yet. It was just merely of me being too lazy to get on the computer.
The weekend was still a good one though, despite having no new members join the family just yet! On Friday, Jay had a softball game and since I don’t really have the energy right now to chase Lucas around an open softball field/area, we decided not to join. But because it was so nice out, and I wanted to get him out of the house for a bit, I called up my mom to see if she wanted to join us for a little trip to the playground. Thankfully, she was in!
We spent probably a good hour or so there, and let him run of some steam/energy, which he certainly has more than enough of these days. It was a new-to-us playground, too, and I think we’ll definitely be back; especially since it was super close to our house!
Once we got home, it was time for a tubby and bedtime, and I then happily sat down and relaxed with a little potty training reading and a vanilla ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles.
Life is good. And yes, potty training is on the horizon. Likely at the end of the month. With a newborn. But I figured, hey…at least I’ll be home with him AND I’ll be able to drink wine. Not too bad, right? #dontanswerthat
Saturday was a chill/work around the house sort of day with no real plans, so when our friends Joey and Kate texted to see what we were up to for dinner, it all happened to work out that we could get together. Best part? They brought us Chipotle.
It has been foreverrrrrr since I last had a burrito bowl from Chipotle, but man, was it good.
And so was the company! We all had a great evening hanging out in the backyard (please don’t pay attention to the disaster of a grass situation we have going on back there…)
and then even brought the fun inside for a bit so the kiddos could wind down with a little dessert and Paw Patrol.
Sometimes, bribery is the only way to get this kiddo back in the house. Anyone else??
Sunday was another chill day at home (we clearly left the weekend open just in case anything was happening), except for a quick trip over to my parents’ house for the boys to get some hair cuts. While Lucas napped, Jay and I did a bunch of clean up in the basement and started priming the walls for painting…and all I’ll say is…I hate painting. But at least we’re making progress, so I can’t complain.
Besides that, it was just the three of us at home, and despite having to be stuck inside due to the rainy weather, we all had a great day!
And since I never put together a meal plan post yesterday, I’ll leave you with what we had last week here.
Weekly Meal Plan
Quick and easy was the name of the game this past week!
Monday (Memorial Day): cookout at my parents’ house with cheeseburgers, roasted veggies, potato salad (and unpictured corn on the cob)
Tuesday: Grilled london broil with leftover orzo salad and macaroni salad
Wednesday: Crockpot pesto and mozzarella chicken* with baked sweet potatoes and veggies
*I found this recipe on Pinterest and did a few slight alterations by using about 1/2 a packet of dry Ranch dressing mix (all I had) and only half a stick of butter but it was really good and super easy.
Thursday: Beef and noodles with tomatoes (I came across this recipe on Pinterest and it was surprisingly good! It needed some extra spices, but other than that it was great, quick, and cheap!)
Friday: Leftovers
Saturday: Chipotle!
How about you guys? Did you all have a fabulous weekend? Do anything fun or exciting?

So I never comment on blogs but I had the same situation of potty training and a new baby and it’s not fun to think of diapers for longer, but from my experience, waiting for the new normal to sink in was so good for us with potty training. I didn’t want to put the work in with my oldest for him to just regress or fight me over it with the new sibling around. We waited a few months, he got a couple months older and potty training was a breeze! I remember sitting next to his potty nursing in the beginning and I wouldn’t recommend that for anyone!! If your able, see what your new normal looks like for a bit before adding another potentially stressful situation. Good luck, I hope your oldest loves his new sibling as much as mine does, it’s the sweetest!

That ice cream cone looks so delicious! I want to share this information just because our peds. doctor had mentioned it & we found it very helpful! I was on the “let’s potty train our biggest before baby get’s here train” and I had mentioned it to her, & she suggested we wait until our Son was very used to be the baby/ life change until we start potty training because she said sometimes they can start wetting a lot more often! Obviously I’m no doctor but just thought I’d share! :) Sending positive vibes your way!!

I so miss Chipotle! I didn’t realize there weren’t any in Hawaii, so I never got my last fix. That looks sooo good.
I so miss meal planning too. Hoping to put some of your favorite recipes of mine back into practice once I get into a house again. Hope the little man comes soon and you all are well!
