Right before Christmas, I received my December Stitch Fix, which was not only like an early Christmas present to myself, but it was also a bit of a surprise. I had forgotten that I had one scheduled to come that month!
In case you’re new to Stitch Fix and how it works, you can read all about it in my first post about the service, HERE.
As you guys may remember, my last fix from October was not all that great. It seems like my fixes have either been awesome or crappy, but I was holding out hope and decided to try out another month…and I’m so glad I did. This month’s fix was great!
Here’s a look at what I got:
KUT FROM THE KLOTH Callie Denim Jacket – $74.00
Gahhhh! Finally!! I have been wanting a denim jacket for the longest time (even though it’s not exactly denim jacket weather at the moment up here in NY), and was thrilled to see this one arrive. Had I been shopping in a store, I’m not sure I would have checked this one out further with that price (I probably would have stuck closer to the $30-40 range), but for the quality and the way it fit, I absolutely had to have it. Keeper!
KUT FROM THE KLOTH Marquis Heathered V-Neck Dolman Sweater – $58.00
There is a lot I love about this sweater, including the fit, the color, and the hi-low shape. The fabric seems a bit stiff right now, adding a little extra bulk in the shoulders, but I’m sure that a couple of washes will fix that up. Keeper!
PAPERMOON Delphina Striped Knit Top -$38.00
I don’t know what it is about this shirt but I. am. in. love. with it. The fabric is light, making it perfect for layering and wearing throughout the seasons (although it really gets stuck on velcro), and I love the navy/cream color. I actually already wore this last weekend so, obviously, keeper!
KUT FROM THE KLOTH Jonathan Corduroy Skinny Pant – $48.00
I was on the fence at first with these and, honestly, I didn’t think I’d ever wear corduroy again. Pretty sure the last time I touched corduroy was in like, fourth grade. But I tried them out with a few different outfits and was happy with how they paired. I like that they’re a darker color, but not black for a change (navy), so it’ll be nice to have a different color of bottoms. The corduroy is stretchy and defines the leg-hugging fit of jean-style pants.
So after weighing the pros/cons of keeping them and realizing it would be cheaper to keep them than return them (with the buy all, 25% discount), they’re a keeper!
URBAN EXPRESSIONS Otis Mixed Material Crossbody Bag – $48.00
The pictures really don’t do this bag justice. And it also looks/lays a bit awkward when it’s empty, like in the pics above. Once I added in all of my regular purse “stuff,” I found that it “fit” much better.
I love the color and the mixed materials, and I really love how it’s a bit bigger. I started using it this past weekend and was able to put some of Lucas’s things in there without having to carry around his diaper bag, too. Another keeper!
Here’s how I paired a couple of the above items this past weekend, too…
As you can probably already told, I’m super happy with this month’s Stitch Fix, and I wound up keeping all five pieces that I received (After some remaining credits and discount, I paid a total of $98 and change, I believe). My stylist (I think her name was Julie…??) was spot on! I’m skipping January, but have another one scheduled for February, and I’m hoping that I get the same stylist again, because she really seemed to “get” me. Fingers crossed!
So how about you guys? What fashion trends have you been loving so far this winter/new year??

The outfit looks great! I too, like you, was wary of corduroy but have 2 pairs I love for especially cold days!
Susie @ SuzLyfe says
I got a denim jacket this summer (took me forever to find a good one), and I wore it so, so much –especially with maxi dresses. I can’t imagine it being warm enough to wear now! I live in Chicago….
Courtney says
Feels like it’s never going to get warm, doesn’t it?! :)
Sarah @ Sarah Sincerely says
Such adorable stuff!! I LOVE that bag! And I think the corduroys fit really well. As a teacher, we’re not allowed to wear jeans, except on Fridays. I live in corduroys during the winter. I’ve found some that fit and feel just like jeans, and they’re definitely my go to.
Courtney says
Yes, I was totally surprised at how comfortable they were! I remember them being so stiff!
Brynn says
I have a pair of navy corduroy pants and love them! A great change up from denim and black. My favorite look right now is a big chunky sweater with leggings. It’s all about cozy during the winter months for this girl!
Courtney says
Amen, sista!
Stacie @ SimplySouthernStacie says
You got a great fix! My December one was kind of so-so. I do actually have those corduroy’s in a maroon color from Stitch Fix. I really like how soft they are and the length is perfect!
Courtney says
Oh that’s awesome! Yes I agree, the length was perfect!
Nicole says
The denim jacket looks great! I wear mine all the time since it holds up so well with a toddler around :)
Christen says
I love seeing other people’s fixes! I haven’t had one in a while, and I might be overdue!
Linz @ Itz Linz says
that is really cute stuff!! i’m always into leggings or legging-type pants! so many options!
Marielle says
What cute outfits!! Well right now since I’m pregnant I have been living in long foley tops and jeggings….going for comfort! :)
Courtney says
Can’t beat that look! :)
Stacey M. says
Awesome fix for sure! I also really like that striped top you got … I could imagine wearing that on many different occasions. And that denim jacket? Love it!
Lately, I’ve really been into leggings and long, cozy sweaters. I found a bunch of tunic-length sweaters while out and about this winter, so I have a bunch of options for the leggings now. I do think I need to find a better pair of skinny jeans though … the pair I have now just aren’t as tight as I’d like them to be. It’s almost difficult to wear them with tall boots because they end up so bunched up at the knees.
Courtney says
Ugh, that’s the worst with the jeans! Sounds like you’re definitely due for a new pair ;)
Sara says
Awesome Stitch Fix — I scheduled my first one for this month. I can’t wait to get it. I used your affiliated link so I hope you got credit ;)
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment says
Great pieces and the cost you ended up paying was a steal. I really need to give Stitch Fix a try soon!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Dude you got some totally cute stuff!! Once I’m no longer living on the road full time, I might have to actually give it a try. See if I can help switch up my wardrobe a bit.. ;)
Mandee says
If you love the kut from the kloth items, you should check out Nordstrom.com and set up stuff on your poachit account. They have great sales on that brand. I like a heavier Jean and was having a frustrating time finding anything that wasn’t a jegging. With the help of a live chat rep I found that brand and ordered one of their styles and became obsessed! I have a flat booty and these jeans make it look awesome! I own four pairs, three of which were on super sale-got them for $44 each. They’re $89 jeans! I will wear them until they fall off my body LoL.
Courtney says
Holy crap, Mandee, I’m sold! Which style are they???
Mandee says
LOL i don’t think they still have that exact style but it was the Mia toothpick skinny jean. The way the back pockets are cut and stitched are the secret I think. I got them about a year ago and they ran HUGE like 2 sizes larger. But the Mia from this year seemed to run true to size. They aren’t exactly the same as the ones I had.
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
Wow you really hit the jackpot with this one! I love that you love the jean jacket. I have had one for years and love it. It’s a total wardrobe staple!
Shawna says
this makes me want to dig out my denim jacket…i’ve had it for years and keep meaning to wear it, but always seem to forget about it. my fave seasonal picks right now are thick, shawl-like infinity scarves in bright Aztec/Fairisle prints; short, chunky booties; and printed leggings (i recently got this awesome pair of thick winter leggings with a big floral pattern that i LOVE and get so many compliments on every time i wear them) with oversized tops and lots of necklaces, rings and bracelets. all about the BoHo look.
Jenn@Mark My Miles! says
I am so excited to try my first fix. We are expecting baby number 2 right now, so waiting until after. I will need a bigger bag for sure with a newborn and little man (currently 18 months). Carrying two diaper bags will not be an option!
Bethany says
I miss wearing “cold weather” clothes – here in FL it’s all the same haha!!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
I won’t lie, Stitch Fix posts are always some of my favorites. I just love seeing the various pieces and the differences in people’s style and preferences. I love everything you decided to keep! And while I thought some items were pricier than I’d ever pay, it sounds like you got it all for a smokin’ deal thanks to your credit which is totally sweet. I was on the fence about cords for a long time too, but now I think they’re so cute and I’ve been wanting a pair. I think they look comfy and I love that you can dress them up or down so easily. I probably won’t end up getting any this season, but if they’re still “in” next year, I’m sure I’ll have to get some.
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, & Beers says
Cute! I like the striped top and the jacket. I’ve been wanting a denim jacket for a loooooong time, but the hubby dislikes them. Between his crazy tastes and my cheapness, I just keep putting it off. ha
Sarah @ Making Thyme for Health says
You did get a good fix! Everything is so cute on you. I personally can’t pull off the dolman sleeve. I’m really tall and lanky with kind of wide shoulders and it just doesn’t work for me. But seeing how well your stylist did is giving me the itch to try Stitch fix again!
Kay @ Kay Bueno says
That striped shirt and the sweater are so up my alley. I wonder if I can pin them a bunch in hopes that stitch fix brings them to me. :)
Love your fix!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
I like the denim jacket the best. I can’t get enough of my denim jacket, even though it’s like 6 years old.
Danica @ It's Progression says
Everything you got this time around is super cute, I especially love that dolman sweater!
Sara says
I love Stitch Fix reviews! I’m still on the fence about committing to it…your items were great this month! I love your photobomber too!
Sara @ Lake Shore Runner says
Love your fix! I had a really bad one and then a really good one too and kept all 5 things. My next one comes in Feb :)
I love the shape of both tops too!
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
The denim jacket and bag are my favorite pieces that you got. I really like bigger bags too so I can fit all my stuff in it.
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
Wow, what an awesome fix! That denim jacket is great! I bought one last year and I wear it alllll the time!
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Love those cords! I’ve got a pair that I like to wear to work, and pair them with boots and a cute top! You’ve had such good luck with StitchFix!
Laura says
I think this is one of the best fixes I’ve seen on various blogs, cute stuff! I only tried Stitch Fix once and it was horrible, but I’m sure I will give it another shot one of these days. I laughed at your comment about that sweater getting stuck to velcro… I sometimes wash my husband’s army uniforms with my clothes (which now that I think about it is rather gross) and they usually come out of the dryer with a million pairs of my underwear stuck to the velcro.
char eats greens says
Everything looks lovely!! I’m scheduled to get my second Fix mid-month; only kept one thing from the first fix, but excited to see what the second one brings!! I think the purse is awesome and the striped top – love!!
Lisa says
Love your fix. I got mine on Christmas Eve. Loved everything. Two of my favs. were a top from 41 Hawthorn (material is like jersey knit sheets…love it) and a sweater from Olive & Oak. Maybe I’ll ask for a purse next go ’round.
Julianna @ Julianna Bananna says
love those dolman tops, they look so cute and comfy!
Ange says
Great pieces, you look great.
Alison @ Anchor in the Stratosphere says
I’m so jealous of your fix! I was totally primed to do a post about my first fix back in November but then it flat out sucked. The pieces didn’t fit, they were hella expensive for the quality, and I just didn’t like them. Very depressing. I decided to give it another go this month and I’m soo hopeful for a better fix!
Becky @ Disney in your Day says
Julie is my stylist too (if it’s the same one) and I loooove her!
