Sunshine and Smiles

By Courtney Leave a Comment

It is a BEAUTIFUL morning this morning! 8-)  The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I’m smiling…partly because I have the day off from work..  (I have an appointment later this morning to go to.)

I started my morning off by setting out for a nice 3.5 mile run.  It was a good one!  AND, I just found out from reading Tina’s blog that today is actually National Running Day! Seriously, I think they have a “day” for almost everything by now, don’t they? ;)

After my fabulous run and taking care of some laundry, it was time for some breakfast.  My run left me pretty hot & sweaty, so the thought of any food requiring heat was not sounding too appealing!  I immediately threw myself into the fridge and came out with one of these.

I took my vanilla flavored Chobani, and topped it with some of these…

And then added in a little cereal combo: the rest of my Quaker Oatmeal Squares & some Kashi Heart to Heart.

This pretty bowl lasted for all of about 2 seconds, before I dove right in and created a fantastic “yogurt mess” :-D

As tasty as this cold, creamy, messy breakfast bowl was, I’m already thinking about diving into my yummy Hearty Oat Loaf that I baked up last night.  It was just TOO GOOD!

I have a few other errands to run today on my day off, one of which is to try to find myself a new BLENDER (GRRR!) but I’m hoping to also get a little time to relax in the sunshine. 8-)

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

Gosh, berries make everything look so healthy and yummy. It's like they immediately take your meals up a notch. I tend to use a day off much like you--try to get a lot of errands done, but also find time to kick back for a bit.

I love to go shopping on my days off, because stores are sooo much less crowded than they are on the weekends. I feel like such a VIP when I walk into an empty store and I don't have to wait in line to try things on or to pay. I also like to get some reading done... I'm in the middle of 3 wonderful books right now (Born to Run, Anticancer, and The Boy Who Was Raised As a Dog)
