I am happy to report that the first day on the job has been successfully completed!
The day went by surprisingly fast and I really do think I’m going to have a great time there. Some of you have asked whether or not I’m working somewhere that coincides with my personal training certification but no, it’s definitely a different end of the spectrum! I’m actually working at a local salon, which means I get to be around lots of fun girly stuff all day long. I’m not gonna lie…I’m pretty psyched about it!
One, of the many, things that I did learn today, is that I will need to dress warmer. Holy moly it was chilly in there! It’s not like it takes much though…usually when I’m comfortably warm, everybody else is sweating, so take it for what it’s worth. Either way, I came home and immediately put on the cozies…
Oh yes, and just so you know…the first time that I pictured these new slippers, they actually were on the right feet. They just looked a little funky in the angle of the photo, but I loved how so many of you caught onto that and had me questioning whether they really were or not (I wouldn’t put it past me).
Once the cozies were in place, I found myself rummaging through the cabinet looking for something to snack on because I was a starvin’ Marvin! I ended up pulling out a bag of chips that I picked up for Jay from Target (actually on the same day I bought the slippers, ironically) and snacked on a few handfuls of those.
These had caught my attention initially because a) they’re baked, and b) we both love balsamic vinegar anything. The balsamic and herb flavors are both definitely very prominent on these chips, but in a good way. I loved ‘em…which you can tell, umm, judging from the herbs stuck underneath my thumbnail. Woops.
A few handfuls later, I figured I should probably settle down and make some dinner. Jay and I decided to work on clearing out some of the leftovers tonight, so lucky for me, I was able to put something together super fast.
I put together a salad or romaine, cukes, black beans, leftover cauliflower, dried cranberries, and a piece of grilled chicken.
I actually still had my half sandwich left from Saturday night’s dinner, so I took it off of the flatbread, sliced it up, and added it to the salad. I love it when leftovers work out like that!
On the side, I also had a piece of toasted rosemary and olive oil bread with a little butter.
Then, immediately after I finished dinner, I scarfed down two chocolate covered dates.
And now, I’m still feeling super snacky and all I want to do is raid my TJ’s cat cookie bin. I don’t know what is up with me tonight! It must be because I wasn’t home to snack all afternoon like I usually do…hmmm.
I guess this is a good thing and a bad thing I’m going to have to work on. Oy vey!
Question for the Evening:
What time of day do you tend to snack the most? Afternoon? Before/after dinner?
For me, it’s definitely after dinner, no doubt about it!
