Today is a date that must me marked on the calendar:
I walked out the doors of Target today and only spent $21.00! YES, isn’t that wild?!? Who would have thought such a thing would be possible! I conquered the demon. mwaahahaha ;)
Considering I am still only human, I did wind up grabbing a couple things not on the list…hey, what did you expect?
I don’t know about you guys, but I think I’m magnetically attracted to any of their red “SALE” tags on the shelves, so when I saw one perched under this bag of this Bear Naked Fit granola, I decided to grab it. It was on sale, plus it’s a vanilla + almond combo, so in my book, it’s totally worth it.
Yikes, blurry photo! I was pretty impressed with the ingredient list too, compared to many other granolas I’ve checked out in the past. I’m super psyched to give it a go. :)
After my Target trip, I made a quick stop at my favorite coffee shop for a little caffeine pick-me-up. Today’s flavor choice totally rocked my socks: Hawaiian Coconut! Once I got home, I added a some vanilla almond milk and 1/2 a packet of PureVia to it, and HOLY COW was it amazing! I mean, considering I’m an absolute Malibu rum fanatic, I shouldn’t really be surprised that it tasted like da bomb. ;)
It turns out, the PureVia wasn’t the only thing waiting for me at home…check out the package that was hanging out on my front steps:
Manna Bread!!!
I had remembered seeing this bread a while back on Tina’s blog, and was absolutely thrilled when the Manna Organics company offered to have me do a review of their breads. My box came loaded with 9 different flavors of Manna Breads:
Whole Rye, Fruit & Nut, Millet Rice, Multigrain, Sunseed, Fig Fennel Flax, Cinnamon Date, Carrot Raisin, & Banana Walnut Hemp.
I immediately popped 8 loaves into the freezer, but left the Carrot Raisin to incorporate into today’s lunch.
Lunch
After lacking on the veggies yesterday, I found myself with a strong craving for them today. Luckily, leftover dinner veggies make for a quick & easy lunch salad. LOVE that!
I started with a base of romaine & spinach, and topped it off with some grape tomatoes, sliced baby carrots, some diced onion, dried cranberries, leftover green beans, & leftover grilled zucchini & yellow squash.
I heated my slice in the micro for a quick 15 seconds…
…just to make sure it would get the PB topping all nice and melty. ;)
All I can say is…this bread is going to be trouble! It is SO GOOD. Plus, I love the fact that there are so few ingredients; the Carrot Raisin bread only has 4: (sprouted organic wheat kernels, filtered water, organic carrots, organic raisins.)
The texture of the bread totally reminded me of a muffin: slightly dense, moist, & chewy. It’s definitely going to be addicting. I’m already thinking about going back for a second piece.
I’ve been hard at work in the kitchen this afternoon, baking up another fun treat to bring to share tonight with my softball team. We have a double header tonight, so I won’t be posting a dinner post. Instead, I will be posting the recipe of my latest creation, so make sure you’re definitely going to want to check it out. ;)
Ok ok, I’ll give you guys a little preview…
Do I have you intrigued yet?!?
