Before anything else, I’ve got to say thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragements from last night’s post. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about posting such a personal story of mine, but the weight that has been lifted from my shoulders completely surpasses any amount of nerves I may have had. It’s a wonderful feeling! :)
When it came to this morning’s breakfast, it was time to stop and smell the flowers peanut butter!
My usual breakfast cravings were back in full swing today, and I thoroughly enjoyed a beloved B+PB+B. A Weight Watchers bagel smeared with some Saratoga Peanut Butter Co. Maple PB & 1/2 of a sliced banana.
It was SCRUMPTIOUS!
Aaaaand, coffee friday ended up coming a little early this week. ;)
I completely forgot to set the coffee pot last night before going to bed, and was too lazy to prep it this morning. So a quick stop at DD’s it was, for a yummy hazelnut with skim milk, and NO splenda! I’m doin’ it guys, I’m really trying! I did add 1 packet of PureVia , which is not as sweet as Splenda, but could definitely become a substitute of mine.
In case you haven’t heard of PureVia, here’s some quick facts from their website:
“PureVia is a zero calorie, all natural alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners that’s made from the sweetest part of the stevia leaf.”
“Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni (commonly called stevia) is a member of the Chrysanthemum family. Stevia is a natural herbal sweetener with no calories and no carbohydrates.”
“The stevia leaf has been used as a sweetener for hundreds of years in South America. It is called “Ka’a He’e” (“Sweet Herb”) in Paraguay.”
“The sweetness found in stevia comes from several natural ingredients. Rebaudioside A (Reb A) is the sweetest and purest extract of the stevia leaf. This natural sweetener is more than 200 times sweeter than sugar.”
Question for the morning:
Do you use artificial sweeteners?
I used to be completely HOOKED on Splenda. I used it in massive quantities in my coffee everyday, sprinkled it in yogurt, or on fruit. However, since I’ve been experiencing some intense stomach pains for quite some time now, I’m experimenting to see how I feel if I cut these out of my diet. We’ll see how it goes!
