Well hey guys, happy Tuesday to you!
Did you all enjoy your Columbus Day? I didn’t have the day off, but Lucas’s sitter was closed so I was lucky enough to be able to work from home for the morning and spend some extra time with my little guy. You should have seen this living room about a half hour before I took this picture…I’m not sure you could even see the floor!
Since I was home for breakfast, I took advantage and made some waffles. Recycled photo because I forgot.
My mom had the day off since she works in a school and ended up coming over a little before noon to watch Lucas for the afternoon so I could head into work (I had some meetings I really needed to be in the office for). It was a gorgeous, warm day, and on my way into work I found myself suddenly in the mood for a cold smoothie. Unfortunately, my options were limited at this point, but I did wind up semi-lucking out at Panera.
I saw they had a Green Passion Power Smoothie, so I decided to try that. It was good, but pretty sweet, which made sense after I checked out that link over there and saw it had almost 50g of sugar. Yikes. Ahh well, at least it tasted good at the time.
Once I got home from work, I chatted with my mom for a bit and then brought Lucas to play outside after she left. I most definitely had to take advantage of the beautiful weather…these days are few and far in between now!
And you may have already seen this on Instagram, but I still had to share anyways. Lately, whenever we ask Lucas to say “cheese!” for a picture, we wind up getting this super funny scrunched up face from him. But out of the blue the other day, he came running up to me saying “happy happy!” and was giving me the sweetest little smile. So NOW, if I ask him to give me his “happy happy face,” this is my result.
Only took us about 27 months to get there, but now I’m obsessed and must ask him about 50 times a day to show me his happy happy face. Just in time too, since we have a fall photo session scheduled for this coming Sunday! <3
I fed Lucas dinner and we played inside for the rest of the evening until Jay got home. He didn’t end up getting home until later from the hospital visiting his dad, so after I put Lucas to bed, we sat and had dinner. And lucky for me, my mom actually made a batch of my Apple ‘n’ Bacon Mac & Cheese while I was at work, so all I had to do was heat it up just before eating.
Thanks, mom! It was delicious!
And for dessert, some muddy buddies that my mom had left here when she was over watching Lucas on Saturday evening. So good!
I snacked on those mindlessly while Jay and I caught up on last week’s episode of The Blacklist (love that show!), and then we headed to bed shortly after that.
And there’s Monday for ya! How about you guys? Anyone else do anything fun yesterday and/or have the day off here in the states?
FYI: This is not a WIAW post – just a post of pics from yesterday that I had to share!

We had off but I was traveling back from the Chicago Marathon. 11 hours of driving and we are finally HOME! I have a lot of cleaning to do today! Thankful I took an extra day off from work.

What a sweet little face. I had the day off and soaked up extra time with my little guy. It was gorgeous outside so we ran around and went on a bike ride.

What a fun fall day! I love The Blacklist too! Can’t believe she keeps getting away, though. I’m not sure how they’re going to keep this going!

We had the day off and spent the entire day traveling! Luckily the little man slept in the car twice and we were able to go to the park when we got home. To good trade off was that we were at the beach for the weekend, which was why we were traveling!

My ENTIRE family is having a fall photo shoot this Sunday, too! ;)
18 people total (5 families – or 6 if you count my little brother who is bringing his new girlfriend!)
Should be interesting…

What are leftover muddybudies? First time I’ve heard about such a thing :D :P (or maybe it’s just me who can’t keep my hand out of that jar ha!)

Since I’m technically between jobs, I had the day off BUT I spent it applying for jobs. Or rather A job that I took HOURS to put together a really thought out cover letter and writing samples. Now I wait…the worst part. ha! But it was a gorgeous day yesterday so I loved just having the windows open and enjoying the fresh air!

Oh man, muddy buddies! Those things are so addictive and always remind me of Christmas for some reason!

That sounds like a fabulous Monday! And that Apple, bacon Mac n cheese has me intrigued! Sounds so good and bursting with flavors! My Monday involved work, and a walk with the pup, it wasn’t out of the ordinary but a good day non the less!

I actually love Mondays. They are a relatively easy day for me class-wise, and I cannot help but enjoy the promise of new week. There’s something about the “clean slate” feeling that gets me riled up in a positive way. I’m a huge list maker! This is the first year I have truly used my planner, and it is extremely helpful.
