Hey guys! How’s the week treating you all so far?
Things are still going well over here, and we’re still working on getting settled (pretty sure I’ll be saying that for months). I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to just getting back into a regular routine, on all fronts of life! Meal planning (haven’t in probably a month), workouts (don’t think I’ve worked out in about a week…besides the moving part), blogging…all of it. I’m ready to get back in a groove. I know it’ll all come with time, slowly but surely.
But most importantly, we finally have the whole family back together again. Cody is here!!
Oh, how we missed our Codeman. I feel so bad making him have to move again (but sorry bud, you’re stuck with us once again!), and I was fully prepared for Jay to bring him home and we wouldn’t see him for like, 2-3 days. He certainly took some time to hide under couches, but he slowly starting exploring, and he has since been at least somewhere in sight at all times.
And adventurous, he is…it didn’t take him long to start exploring up high!
Crazy cat. ;)
Jay and I both took Monday off from work so we could attempt to get a little more work done around the house. My original goal was to use the majority of Monday for painting, but since I’m still totally up in the air on paint colors, that obviously wasn’t happening. Instead, we emptied out almost all of our boxes (only a few left in the office…and well, the basement is a disaster, but that’s okay), hung some curtain rods, put in a mailbox, and also did a big grocery haul.
With all of the chaos that has been happening the past couple of weeks with moving and whatnot, our eating has been SO out of whack. And not exactly the healthiest, either. So I was more than ready to stock up again on some good stuff.
Like, for example, this vanilla yogurt bowl with blueberries and Van’s Blueberry Walnut granola. That stuff is dangerously good.
And since Jay had a softball game on Monday night, I stuck with something cool, refreshing, and easy for dinner.
I honestly couldn’t even tell you the last time I had had a salad before Monday…and it tasted so, so good.
Good enough that I even repeated it for lunch yesterday, too.
Lots of veggies with some deli turkey, provolone cheese, dried cranberries, and creamy Italian dressing. I’m pretty sure I’ll be making more of them this week!
As for us, we’re having a blast getting settled into the new place, and I’ve been surprised at just how quickly it’s starting to feel “cozy.” I mean, it still feels totally weird, and almost like we’re in somebody else’s place (if that even makes sense??), but I already just love it.
And as a side note, like I mentioned on Instagram, I’m also totally loving rose wine now, too. I got this bottle from a local vineyard at the Farmers Market a couple of weeks ago, and now I totally want to try more. So if you have any recommendations, feel free to send ’em my way!
Oh, and just in case you were wondering how Lucas is feeling about the new space…
I think he’s diggin’ it, too. ;)
I’m not really sure what the rest of the week will be looking like over here, since we’re still not slated to have cable or internet until Sunday (boooooo…and thank goodness for the $9 antenna that will at least still let me watch trashy TV like Bachelor in Paradise), but I’ll try to check in whenever I have time to stop at my parents’ house to steal some of their wifi.
I hope you guys are having an awesome week so far, and I’ll catch up with ya soon! <3

It seems as though everyone feels right at home at the new house! Take your time with paint. The worst is picking a color, not liking it and having to start over.
Jenn@Mark My Miles! says
YAY! So glad that everyone is enjoying the new home! I completely agree with wanting to get back on some sort of routine. We recently moved and I felt the same way. things are finally getting there.

During our move to Alaska I’ll be separated from our cats for three weeks (Oh, and my husband too.) I’m going to feel so lost without them!
Linz @ Itz Linz says
Looks like the move is going well! So glad!

Happy Cody! So glad to see him back in the mix. And how did he get up on that ledge? From the stairs? That’s really high!
Courtney says
Haha, from the stairs. He’s nuts!

Ok – I used to not be into granola but now I totally am WITH greek yogurt and blueberries!! That’s Van’s granola looks amazing .. is it softer than normal granola? I’m definitely looking for it at Wegmans ASAP.
Courtney says
Yes, I’d say it’s definitely softer than most other granolas I buy. I totally love it!
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, & Beers says
Ha! That’s a great pic of Lucas. I’m glad you’re settling in well.

looooove rose – it’s definitely my go-to summer wine. i love French roses — light, refreshing, crisp/dry is my preference. Whispering Angel is really good, and there’s another one in an hourglass shaped bottle from Cote de Provence that’s great…i’ve been buying another one lately that’s super affordable and really good/light, i’ll find out what it is for you. :) i prefer the lighter-hued and dryer roses, though, so it’s all about your preference! yayyy for the house being HOME!
Shawna says
okay i found the hourlass bottle: Aime Roquesante, Cotes de Provence. :)
