I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to post today. For one, I wasn’t really sure how to come back after writing a post like yesterday’s (too soon?), and two, I just didn’t know if I’d feel up to it. But after laying around basically all evening yesterday and this morning with not much to do, I found myself at my computer. And rather than continue to dwell on the negative, I knew it would be worth my while to focus on some positive.
So today, here are some things making me smile.
Particularly, this face. He made my day infinitely better yesterday.
And I would be remiss if I did not thank all of you. The outpouring of support from all of you via this blog, texts, emails, social media…you just blew my away. And reading through each and every comment brought me to tears on more than one occasion. I can’t begin to thank you all enough for your kind and encouraging words. Many of you called me brave for sharing, but I never really thought of it that way. I just know that it’s something that’s far too common, and there are a lot of women who have or are dealing with it. Just know you’re not alone. Xoxo to all of you.
I justified the purchase and went ahead and ordered this weights set to use for my Les Mils Pump DVD’s.
It’ll be a few days before I’m ready to start using them, but I’m so excited. Even better, I wasn’t expecting them to arrive until mid-late next week, but they were actually here when we got back yesterday. Great timing for them not being available for Prime shipping.
Lucas’s new haircut. I still can’t get over just how much older a haircut makes him. I want to just eat him up.
Pedicures with mom. She treated me to one on Wednesday, which was really nice to have before my procedure yesterday.
Fun sweepstakes from Sears. This is not at all related to my partnership with them and I have not been asked to share anything with you, but as a Shop Your Way member, I always get emails about the different sweepstakes they’re running. They usually have a ton going on at any given time, but right now they have two that I thought you guys would really enjoy so I wanted to share them.
First up: Whole New Home Sweepstakes (Prize: KITCHEN MAKEOVER – up to $10,000 value!)
Next up: Sears Dream Grill Sweeps (Prize: Kenmore Grill & Tool Set)
You can get tons of entries for each one by doing various things (*one of them being if you share the giveaway on social media, with friends, on a blog, etc.) and I think it’s totally worth a shot, so check ‘em out if those are something you’d want to win!
Our house. They’re supposed to start painting this week (did I mention that already?) and every time I see it, I just can’t help but think “this seriously isn’t ours, is it?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts today for cardholders. I suppose there really isn’t much of anything that I need, although I will say that my current situation for work shoes is incredibly sad. I could use a new pair or two, so I’m going to be keeping my eyes peeled for something simple and versatile. Maybe these (if they have a good sale) or these, which I’m loving for summer, or these funky ones in the nude color
This gelato. As I was sitting and waiting the 2+ hours that my procedure went late for yesterday (ugh, but thankfully all went well), I had plenty of time to scroll through Facebook (of course), and I saw my favorite Stewart’s post about their new gelato. So Jay went out and got me some.
Amazing friends. I let many of my good friends know about my unfortunate news before sharing it publicly, and my best friend Heather stopped by my parents’ house within hours of me talking with her to drop off these beautiful flowers and my favorite wine.
I’ve been blessed to have some incredible friends in my life, and Heather (who you’ve seen on here before I’m sure) is just the best of the best. We’ve known each other for 25 years now (started kindergarten together!), and she has always been there for me, no matter what, no questions asked. Heather, I know you’re reading and you are one of a kind. Thank you, thank you, for being so great.
That’s all I’ve really got for today, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you see me pop in this weekend. I wish you all a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend, whatever you may be doing.
xoxo <3

I’m soo sorry to read yesterday’s post!! Yeah are a strong woman, and staying positive won’t take the pain away, but it will take the edge off!! Hang there pretty mama, you have some pretty amazing things going to help distract you, but take your time to grieve. I agree, hair cuts make little ones look soo much older!! I hope you have an awesome weekend!!

I think one of the millions of benefits to having children is that they are a PERFECT distraction, pick-me-up, cheer-me-up, etc. when things are rough in our lives. As cheesy as it sounds, one smile from them truly does make things that are difficult somewhat less so. :)
