Hello, and a happy Monday to you! Did you guys have a great weekend?
I’ll be honest…ours could have been about 100x better. : )
Things started off pretty good on Saturday morning. Since Alex turned 8 months on Friday (WHAAAT?) we took some photos in the morning and then while he napped, Lucas, Jay, and I went outside to play a bit in the snow.
And I have to give a quick shout out to this amazing Cubbies shirt that Lucas has. The mittens are actually attached right to the shirt with zippers, which makes things a million times easier when it comes to getting him dressed for the snow. So thank you again, EtS Apparel, for the awesome shirt!
And yeah, talk about one snowy weekend! I don’t know how much we’ve gotten, but at this point (Sunday night) I’d say we must have a foot?! I mean, sure it’s pretty…but how many more days until spring??
So it was around late morning on Saturday when my stomach just started to feel off. Jay and I had planned to head out for a little date night that night, so I tried to ignore it and just carry on with the day. But by about 4pm I was down for the count and stuck in bed. Date night cancelled.
Thankfully, Jay was awesome and managed to take care of the boys for the rest of the evening…that is, until about 10pm when Lucas wound up getting sick. And then continued to get sick every 45-60 minutes. So the three of us spent the entire night on the couches in the living room taking care of my poor baby.
All things considered, I feel like we may have gotten a bit lucky because after about 12 hours or so, it was over and he was totally back to his normal self. Like, to the point where we had to ask him continuously to stop running around the house. Kids, I’ll tell ya…quite the resilient little things!
I think Alex may have actually had a touch of something on Friday and was a bit off on Saturday too, but for the most part, he’s been okay.
Jay and I still aren’t 100%, but we’re getting there too…and we spent a good portion of Sunday cleaning, sanitizing, doing lots of laundry, and all that jazz.
I swear, this winter is the WORST. We just can’t seem to catch a break and I am officially throwing up my white flag! Give me SPRING and let me open up the windows for some fresh air!!
Sadly, I know that’s nowhere in site right now (especially looking out my window at the mounds of snow piles) but I just have to remind myself we’ll get there soon enough. But seriously, is everyone else dealing with all this sickness this winter, too? What is going onnnnnn?!
Unfortunately, I don’t have too much more to share since that was our weekend, in a nutshell – sick and snowed in! We’ll hope for a better weekend next week.

One quick thing I want to mention to you guys! I’m super excited to be partnering up with my friend Gina for a fun “Books and Beauty” online social event this Thursday!
The event is going to be packed with giveaways, free gifts, and information about both Usborne Books and Beautycounter! It’s the perfect combo, if you ask me..something for the kiddos and something for yourself!
If you’ve been at all curious about either of the companies and want to join in on the fun, be sure to check out the event page on Facebook. It’s gonna be great!

Yes! This winter has been the worst, everyone in my family had the 24 hour bug in December, and now we’re currently on day 10 of a terrible cold/respiratory virus thing. I hope you guys feel better and stay well!

I’m glad everyone is feeling batter now. Being sick is never fun.
I hear you on the snow. We got 25 centimeters last weekend. The roads were terrible Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully your snow melts soon!

Oh, goodness. This sounds eerily similar to our situation the past few weeks. We just can’t seem to kick the illness, but we’re all getting it at different times and I’m not sure which is worse! Surprisingly Wisconsin isn’t getting hit by the snow and we’re looking forward to temps in the 40s & 50s this week so I’m hopeful we can crack a window or two and get some of the yuckiness out!

So sorry to hear that! Sick days are so miserable! I agree with you, I cannot wait for the fresh air and sunshine. BRING. IT. ON.

Oh my gosh, right there with you. My 2 year old and I had the flu last week. Before that, our 9 month old had an ear infection. Two weeks before that was a stomach bug. So over cold and flu season!! Sending healthy vibes your way.

ohhh no! Sickness is the worst! I always had a Valentine’s curse, and ended up missing so many Valentine’s Day parties growing up. Thankfully this year, it did not happen! Hopefully y’all are on the mend!!
