Make sure you’ve caught Part 1 of our trip! Visiting Magnolia Market recap!
On Monday morning, Chelsey and I made sure to start the day bright and early so we could get a good head start on our packed day ahead. Since Monday was a holiday (MLK day), we weren’t sure how that would affect the crowds, so we figured, the earlier the better!
Our first stop for the day was Silos Baking Co. at Magnolia Market. Everything I’d read said that the lines can get rather long throughout the day, so your best bet is to go first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon. Not wanting to chance it, we hit up the bakery right around 8am, and thankfully for us, did not have to deal with any sort of lines or wait time. Score!
The bakery was so cute inside, and was filled with all sorts of incredible looking sweet treats, including cookies, cupcakes, pastries, and more.
Upon entering, we were given a little card and pencil where we could list out exactly what we wanted to order, and simply had to give it to the girls at the counter.
I wanted SO badly to be able to get one of everything, but to keep it simple, I picked out a couple of cookies and a couple of cupcakes…and let me tell you, these cupcakes were some of THE best I’ve ever had.
Most notably, their frosting was out of this world. Just a simple buttercream, but oh man, there was something seriously special about their recipe. I just want a big ol’ vat of it shipped to me.
Once we had our baked goods in hand, we walked around the yard of Magnolia Market a bit to browse.
The store itself wasn’t opened yet at that point, but the lawn area was huge and so inviting!
I loved all of the little touches, and it was clear that they most definitely had a vision for making this a fun, family-friendly place to stay and play.
So fun!!
After our quick browse around, we walked a few blocks down to another spot for breakfast. I don’t recall the name of the place we went to, but the food was alright. The coffee, however, was nothing like The Olive Branch, so we wound up walking back there again to grab ourselves a couple of travel cups.
After breakfast, we made a quick stop back to our hotel to drop off our bakery items and then made our way back to the Silos. Seeing the line that had already formed at the bakery at that point made me that much happier about our decision to stop there early. And I’ll tell you, that line looked the same ALL day!
Inside, the market was hustlin’! And although it was busy, it sounds like winter is definitely a better time to visit; after a quick conversation with a man in line at the airport, he informed me and Chelsey that he and his wife had waited over an HOUR AND A HALF in line at the market last summer just to be able to check out. Yikes!!
We both made sure to “sign in” just to make sure Chip & Jo knew we were there. ; -)
I didn’t end up taking too many pictures of the inside of the store, but we actually decided that we were going to make two separate trips; the first, just to take it all in and make note of what we may want to get. And the second to actually do some damage.
Once we were done with trip #1, we hopped in the car and went for a little drive to visit Harp Design Co.
Unfortunately, Clint wasn’t there working that day (I mean, I suppose I understand…it was a holiday and all!), but we did browse around out back a bit to see where he works. So cool!
As for the store, it was open and was filled with all sorts of adorable pieces. Neither of us wound up getting anything here, but everything was super cute.
For those of you who are fellow Fixer Upper fans, you may remember the house that Chip & Jo flipped for Clint and his wife? Well they don’t live in that house anymore, but it’s actually located right next door!
I loved what they did with that house.
After visiting there, we headed back over to the Silos to browse around some more and grab some lunch.
It really was a beautiful day, and there were plenty of people and families there taking advantage.
Situated all around the perimeter of the market are different food trucks. On the particular day we went there were 5, but it sounds like there may be more that are there in the warmer/busier months.
Chelsey and I both wound up choosing Club Sandwich for our lunch of choice, which was far from being just sandwiches. They had these delicious rice bowls where you could choose your own proteins (I got a chicken and a pork), and then topped with pickled cucumbers, carrots, and your choice of sauce (sriracha ranch for me).
I absolutely need to try and recreate these at home. So simple, but so good!
Once we were finished up with lunch, it was time to head back into the store to get our shop on…and shop we did!
I was quite pleased to find out that they will ship all orders over $75 for FREE (+ the cost of the boxes) so that made my shopping decisions that much easier. After checking out, you simply go to their shipping station they take care of everything for you!
My items arrived back home about five days later, and I’ll share them with you soon. ; )
And that is pretty much the extent of our trip! Our plan was to stay overnight in Waco on Monday night and then drive to Dallas early Tuesday morning for our flights, but because they were expecting bad weather (a dusting of snow), we didn’t want to risk it. Thankfully, our hotel let us cancel our last night without penalty, we wound up finding another hotel right next to the Dallas airport, were able to return our car Monday evening, and took a shuttle over to the airport the next morning.
Our flight on Tuesday morning ended up being delayed by about 90 minutes, but thank goodness, I didn’t miss my connecting flight, so I made it home as scheduled. And as much fun as it was to be away for a few days, it felt SO good to be back home with my boys <3

I love everything Magnolia, so I really enjoyed reading your review! I did buy something from Magnolia Market (online), but I was really disappointed to see the “made in china” sticker on the back. I guess it’s not all cute, original, antiques. Womp Womp.

Looks like it was such a fun trip! I just might have to add it to my list of places to make it to :) Would you be able to tell me which nail polish you’re wearing in the picture with the bakery order form – looks like the perfect shade of nude!

Thank you! I know it was a gel polish from Sally Hansen…I think maybe Regal Rose?

So jealous of your trip. I think my sister and I are going to do a trip there sometime. I can’t wait to see the stuff you picked out so I get ideas for when I go.
